I had a dentist's appointment today too. Only I have 4 cavities. Three on one side and one on the other. Appointment next week to fill three. Then have to schedule another appointment for the one on the other side. Also, work was irritating. If you outsource your research and development to a low cost region, you get what you pay for. Copy cat work. Every single time we have a meeting with this team it drives me bonkers because it is nothing but copy cat work. And today, none of it even applied because it was apples to our oranges. Critical thinking skills. I need people with critical thinking skills! So glad your daughter's fever is down and the magical ice cream worked wonders . I wish there was an equally magical treatment for work ills, especially management stupidity

Is that the hammerhead worm? I’m skeert to look at the link. I heard of them last year. They are scary! A lady in the gardening group I read in on FB found some in her garden. She lives 3 hours from me!

Ok, I'm doing a short rant here, and might delete this later. Here's my question: what is wrong with single men in the USA today? I'm not talking 18-21 year olds, I'm talking about grown (supposedly) men in their 30's, 40's and 50's. My DD was asked out by 2 different random men, strangers to her, in the last 24 hours. (Just so you know, she has a steady BF right now.) One handled her rejection nicely, the other guy went off & screamed at her, calling her every name in the book. Now, this isn't the first time she's had some guy throw a temper tantrum when she told him she wasn't interested or available. The last guy who threw a tantrum was probably in his 50's. Of course, we KNOW why these guys are still single, but when did this become semi-normal behavior? I really worry about the next generation... shit. you posted this right after my last. um, how much popcorn do you have? b/c I have stories for days! (I'll be 45 in the fall) O dear. Sorry to hear you've got toxic masculinity in your part of the country too. It's not easy being a woman.

Hubs has been nice, think he missed us. We stopped for dinner at a barbecue restaurant we all like on the way home.
He brought kitty a litter box and water, which he used before we got home. He ate a bit of food but didn't drink water. The gabapentin was still affecting him, he was kind of miserable. He and Tigger went at it a few times when he got home, but that was it. They both did fine after that. I don't see Tiggy trying to sit on hubs lap either. I think everything was disrupted for him when Smoke, DD, and I were all gone. Both kitties have been fine today, outside playing and hunting, I have them in now.
Doc put me on a few days of prednisone, start in the morning so they won't keep me awake, Clarinex, that will help my sinuses, and Bactrim, likely for my throat infection for 5 days 800/160 tabs. I told hubs if I get sick like this everytime up there and can't get a doc to help me I sure won't be thinking about moving. Let's just hope this is a one time thing.
The house was all neat and clean. I could sweep the floors but looked darn good to me. I cleaned the I Sharp out but not charging. Going to have to look at troubleshooting maybe didn't put it firmly back together. Not feeling like messing with it right now, hopefully tomorrow.
We need to do something about mattresses, I sure hate to spend more money but going to have to. Not sure what we will get yet. I slept on the couch and he slept in bed. That queen bed just isn't big enough for both of us. He was going to take the couch but I wanted to sleep on it. Very comfy
And hubs just came in and said his display on his radio went black. It stayed on, can't turn it off or change stations, oh great. I hope his extended warranty covers that.

I only used 1/2 the seasoning packet in our ramen tonight but it still came out a little on the spicy side. That's okay for me, as my sinuses are CLEAR for the first time in a week. Spicy foods and saline rinses are my best friends since I don't do prescription or OTC treatments for stuff like allergy flareups.
I checked the old Dropbox log-in connected with my volunteer work and, sure enough, it's still good. Now I just need to figure out all the "new and improved" features so I can start work on the next issue of our newsletter.
My desktop computer is making suspicious noises so I'm going to bring in a new computer guy to clean it up, get my laptop to reconnect to our network, and install an anti-virus program on the laptop. Many meetings are going back to virtual so I need something besides my phone to participate. If it ain't one thing, it's another. I don't want to think a new desktop is in my future, but......

I cooked some cabbage and ground beef for dinner. I saw a recipe for it several weeks ago, and had been wanting to try it. But apparently there’s a zillion different ways to cook it as far as spices and seasoning. So Mister was in charge of that part since he knows way more than I do about spices and their flavors. He kept saying I wish I knew what it’s supposed to taste like, and I kept saying it’s supposed to taster however you want it to. I cooked some cornbread and made a gallon of tea and I was tired like I’d really been doing some work lol. I finally went and got some oil for the Jeep. Mister put it in a little while ago, so she’s good to go and I get to drive her tomorrow. Even after all this time, backing my car into our garage still works my nerves, because it’s so tight that I have very little room for error. Like inches, not feet. Just backing the Jeep all the way down the driveway to the end, and parking it there, is much easier. Even though Mister doesn’t back his car into the garage, when he comes out, he does it in a way that he’s going forward out of the driveway. We prefer going forward out of the driveway because we leave for work in the dark and the driveway gets narrow with a slight curve toward the top and the flowerbed with the mailbox is right up against the driveway, encased in bricks. There’s only 1 street light in our cove, and it’s not near our driveway, so it’s easier to see and avoid running into the brick flowerbed with headlights vs taillights. Even in the daytime, people tend to drive in our grass to make sure they avoid the bricks.

I do my cabbage and ground beef thing like an unstuffed bell pepper, with diced tomatoes and bell peppers, and rice. For us, lots of diced onions and garlic too but that's not for everyone. I respect your ability to back up into any place at all, because I can barely go forward in a tight space, much less back. Enjoy the Jeep tomorrow.

Can you get a BP cuff to use at home? Untreated blood pressure led to my uncle having kidney failure. He had a terrible time on dialysis. We do. It needs calibrated though at his next appointment the doctor said they'll do it for him. It reads my BP as 110/90 so I am pretty sure it's accurate. I know mine because it's always the same give or take a couple points. Do you maybe mean 110/60 or 110/70? Because my memory serves me correctly, 110/90 is early hypertension. I just want you to stay healthy - I like the world better with you I'm it.

The workout today was hard. Not as bad as the killer one I post a few weeks ago, but rough. I'm not going to be OK tomorrow. I feel so old!

I have a kind of funny blood pressure story. I was bored waiting on something at the pharmacy several years ago and I used the blood pressure machine they have there. According to the chart, I was almost comatose. I went to my PCP the next day and explained why I was there. After she got done laughing, she explained that those are not made to fit children (I'm 5' 0 " and 105 lbs). Also, my blood pressure was perfect.

I think I'd good with the suggestions of vinegar or salt if I found one. The biggest plastic ziploc bags I have now are qts, but I think I'd have gallon ones on hand for that monster. Pick up with gloved hand, put in strong ziploc bag, add vinegar or salt, seal and wait. I hate that we have way too many lanternflies. Have not been successful in killing any really. That's the invasive species of the moment here in NJ. Do not envy those of you with scary bright hammerhead worm in your area.

Did your return to Indiana make things worse? Just realized my doctor did not give me a single thing for my sinus infection. Since I am new to this version of his practice, I had to go through the new patient thing and quick exam. The scrip I rely on to sleep during bad stuck sinus infections was called in, but he put Friday's date on it. Crap, so instead of getting help to pick it up tomorrow I've got several nights ahead of me where I have to be more on point to get at least 4 hours sleep. Hope the Bactrim works for you. Its one of several antibiotics I have taken for sinus issues. I try to rely on my Olive Leaf extract though which is less harsh on my system and I don't need to add in probiotics in to counteract the mayhem antibiotics do. Radio display in the truck?

Good morning, strong, feisty invisipeeps, doing battle with garden pests, difficult work situations and challenging people. Welcome to Wednesday. I hope your day proves you the victor in your skirmishes and rewards you with an excellent dessert. I'll be off to the train in about an hour. I hope to nap a bit onboard. And play on the internet. DD wants to go to a tremendously good French restaurant to celebrate her birthday, so we will. I'm going to end the meal with a Grand Marnier souffle, I think. I'm glad I've been getting comfortable (yet stylish!) travel clothes for the cruise. They're coming in very handy as I visit my children. I like Chico's travelers collection so as they've come on sale I've picked up a few pieces. In June when we get back I'm going to need to really curb all spending. I have had some budgetary leeway but it's now making me nervous, because whatifs. I still need to weed the flower garden, but have been procrastinating as I need to get some mulch first. Or so I tell myself. Yesterday I took Franklin the Dog to the beach for a dawn walk. I had almost given up on seeing the sun; there was a band of clouds low on the horizon. Then I saw this: I'm glad I stayed, watching.

I'm up, waiting on the goobers to finish inhaling their bowls and go do their business, then we'll head out to daycare. I have a field trip to the car dealership later for an oil change/checkup, and I'll take a work call from there. hopefully nobody schedules anything for this afternoon, b/c right now it's completely open and I can get some shit done. the expense report I submitted from the airport hotel 2w ago was kicked back to me b/c of incomplete documentation on the flight. um, I submitted what the application gave me as a receipt - which is the same application I'm using to submit the report! not really sure where I'm going to get better detail than from the travel/expense program.

It's dumb but we have to go to a specific place in our travel system and pull up an e-receipt for airfare. Getting the e-receipt is not an intuitive process. I have to pull up the job aid every time. The fact we book the airfare right in our system and it auto populates to the voucher isn't good enough. Airfare doesn't even hit my individual card, it goes on the agency card which I'm guessing is more of a billing account than an actual credit card.

In Connecticut going backward on the train. There is "police activity" on the track we had been routed on, so we are going to loop around it after we back up far enough. No other details.

Hoping to finish up a report today that I promised would be delivered by this Friday. DH is off Friday, and we are starting summer hours which means as long as manager approves we can log out at 1PM on Fridays. Manager doesn't pay much attention to our "on" time, as long as he sees results.

I started the prednisone today, since I don't have a fever no shot. But the Clarinex has helped some already. It will likely help my sinuses. I don't think I'm better or worse, just the same, sick. I have gone to this doc for 10 years now so she knows what I need. She asks if DD was sick yet, told her so far so good. She coughed a few times last night, so will watch her closely. I ate a banana and am drinking a weak cup of coffee with the pills. Have my daily pills to take today yet.
DD has been nice and is grumpy this morning because I asked her to do something.
Tigger has been on the end of the bed with me and now is laying on my legs on the recliner. I think he missed us.
I haven't been able to do much. Picked up a few groceries yesterday, hubs fixed he and DD sandwiches last night. I bought 2 cube steaks to fix with fried potatoes tonight, hope I can. I did clean the cat water fountain and fed the kitties. And last night I cleaned the big tub at the end of my bath. I have a lot to do but little is going to get done today. Probably a load or two of laundry and vacuuming will be about it.
