5/26 pay periods...2022 flying by.....March already, soon to be first quarter done. this has continued, I'm worth less every singe day, while continuing to shovel in..... ......and.......encore...... with huge deficits in the accounts that are not getting new money, the big ones..... extremely satisfied with the ibonds, and looking forward to adding TIPS later this year too. I need to rethink my MM 20k allocation, because saying I'm putting 250/payperiod in seems nice, but I keep taking out more than that! Will recalibrate when I get my first RI, inc. check this year, will be bit flush. have not heard from my other RI client, they may have ditched me!

Mollyc (2) Mar 5/22 $611.65 (Start - Jan 2/22 - 531.30) Unfortunately, there was an additional unanticipated vet visit on top of the $1,670 to get the 2 girls spayed, so it was about $2,200. Luckily I had most of the funds in savings so I'll just have to carry a small balance on the Visa until the extra April pay hits. Or I might skip putting funds into savings this month and take care of it with the side job. Hopefully everyone will stay well now and I can save up for their annual physicals. DH's dog van needed some parts so I didn't have any new funds to deposit to auto and I pulled a bit out of savings. Fortis recalculated my monthly payment so I won't be depositing any extra. It's very frustrating dealing with them. They calculate in the Spring when the furnace has been in use all winter and jack up the monthly rate. Then they calculate my monthly rate in the Fall after we've hardly used the furnace all summer and the rate drops too much. At least I've built it into my budget for the past few years. Still annoying.

I decided to do some good. I donated to both the World Central Kitchen and Care.org today to help over in Ukraine. I am glad I found these for the future when I am doing an DAF and looking towards donating and doing some good. Money has been kinda on the back of my mind. I am having surgery either late next month or early May. It made me realize that I needed to do a will. I don't believe anything is going to go bad but I need to adult and get it done.

Let me know if I have forgotten anybody, or gotten your information wrong. Thank you! Thank you for the smiley chart. I am wondering how the stars and roses are calculated as well as the values for the various smileys. I enjoy seeing the lineup of smiles...

I am wondering how the stars and roses are calculated as well as the values for the various smileys. I enjoy seeing the lineup of smiles... Oh, thanks for pointing that out! I thought I had put that on page 1 of the thread but I see I have not done that. are awarded based on % saved to goal. Each represents 25% saved, so =25%, =50%, and =75%. =100% saved. =125% saved, and so on. are awarded for having saved 100% in each particular category. Some people don't break their savings out into categories but just have an overall tag line. They don't have a until they are at 100% saved overall. =$50, =$100, =$500, =$1,000, =$5,000, =$10,000, =$25,000, =$50,000

Azucena $5,045 of $40,000 (13%) as of 2/4/2022 Bonus gross $34k, net $18k...so many taxes/soc sec ($11k) plus my new after tax investments so $1750 went there and $3820 went to 401k. I usually turn down 401k to net more from my bonus, but I didn't see a reason too since I was planning to save at least that much of it anyway. Paid some annual bills and rest of spring break trip. Deposited $13,668. Surpassed my $100k in liquid savings goal for the first time ever. Having some home improvements done next week so will likely pull $4k back out of savings, but putting it there for now so that it can spent intentionally and not frittered away.
Azucena $18,714 of $40,000 (47%) as of 3/21/2022

I'm a moron. I completely neglected to set aside earnest money for the next house purchase. Plus I let DH make a $3,000 purchase for a matter of convenience.

I'm still on the savings track just haven't updated because the numbers went down due to market volatility effecting my Trad IRA and TSP accounts.
I did rollover the 401k from my last job into my Roth a couple weeks ago so now I have fewer eggs and they're all in one company's basket: Trad IRA and Roth IRA.
I'll update in a couple weeks, after my taxes are done.

Whether it's worth 6K or 10K now is irrelevant (not sure I could even figure it out since it's all mixed with the past 15 years of 401K funds).

I was while I was working but that was over in January. Instead, I focused on paying things down/off to reduce my debts to just the vehicle and the mortgage. Come April 1st-ish, I'll be paying my final payment to the debt that is not those items. I then just need to see what my 2021 tax payment will be, if I have one.

For my EF that is in MM/stocks, I'm thinking of looking at that by balance rather than inputs. I'm still thinking.....

I managed to put another $500 into Race #2, along with the usual deposit to my property tax savings. I also put a decent chunk of money into a savings account I'm not tracking here. I feel good about my savings for March. I also managed to cash flow and buy DDIL an early birthday gift, more costly than I usually spend but it was definitely a "need" and it benefits my DGS as well. So, win-win.

So, is your tag line something like laterbloomer, 4/3/22, $7,600 (Goal $36,000)if I am reading this right? A chart isn't needed, but it helps anyone doing the smilies to have a tag line so we don't have to go hunting through the update and possibly getting it wrong. TIA.

The basement flooring was done well within budget. So I'm removing it in the calculation. I just left it here to show I completed it. I also cash flowed sump pump and backup pump replacement to the tune of $1000 in Jan. Still need to replace the battery - about $200 which I'll cash flow. I got my annual bonus which was about $16K this year that helped with the savings. I need to fund my travel and stay to DS2's graduation and a 3 weeks international trip for my DS2 and me in summer. This will mean boarding my dog which will cost about $2.5K for the 4 weeks. So, don't expect to be able to save much more this year. I don't expect to meet the roof replacement goal this year. Hopefully I can meet the MM account atleast. Annie7 1/1/2022, $69,699 (Goal $120,000)

I want to fund a MM account for after tax savings. I might move existing money from my other categories there. I added "Other Maintenance" since there are some things I want to do for the house and yard. Basement flooring is the only thing that I know for sure will be done this year. The others are all "if possible and if needed".

7/26 pay periods... End of first quarter was good for me, net worth recovering nicely, and over 25% of the way to 2022 goals. Have lots of thoughts and things to ponder, but no time.....maybe next payday.

Knee Deep in Water Chloe it sounds like a good investment for you. Plus, you already use the trailer a lot. And you'll be using it even more. PS I just have a one-line savings goal, I don't separate it into "buckets". Some of it will be spent on a trip this summer. laterbloomer what a lovely way to celebrate your Mom's birthday!

Emergency Fund Goal $10,000 Saved $1,300 TFSA Goal $26,000 Invested $8,000
I actually dipped into my Emergency Fund this month. The good news is I'm getting an unexpected tax return of $1800 that will go directly to the Emergency Fund so that will get me back on track.

Well I prepaid for my surgery that is on Monday. So close to $5000 was paid. Just happy that I had the money and have been putting it in to the HSA.
I have a good friend staying with me for a few days. The surgery is supposed to be out patient but it could turn into a overnight stay so we are planning for both outcomes. I made sure that the property taxes were also paid early this month. I did not want to lose track of the date and end up paying them late.
