Ok, new problem here. For the first time ever, I've got that "crepe" look on the skin on the undersides of my arms. Never had it until now, so I suppose the weight loss has made skin loose there. Any suggestions are welcome, whether I need to lift weights, specific skincare products, or whatever works. And now you know why the 3/4 length sleeve was invented 😉 Weight lifting will help tone up the area some and a tan will help with appearance. There is a school of thought that fasts over 48 hours cause autophogy. I don't know how legit that is.

It’s Tuesday for me, but I’ll still post a few goals for my week:
-stay within calorie limit daily (aiming for macro ratios) -no after dinner drink Tue/Wed/Thu -16 hour fast minimum daily

So, I am going to do something brave (for me). As brave as I can be behind a message board where no one knows me IRL anyway. Mondays will be my weigh in days. To the brave part : weigh-in 2/07 = 206.8 LBS Even DH does not know what I weigh, though I did learn that he weighs 204 last week. But he is also 9 inches taller than me. I'm pretty sure I weigh more than my husband. And he's also 7ish inches taller than me. I hide my weight well, so he doesn't think that I weigh that much. It is what it is.

I just popped over here for Ava. Well, I might stay. We'll see.
Her 10 minute workout, combined with some normal life moving around was enough to put me in my 22 minute zone for getting my heart rate up enough. One of her 15 minute walk adds a mile to my totals, and my fitbit nags me to move 250 steps every hour if I haven't, which I can get done in about 2-3 minutes. (yes, I've timed it). Between these two things, I can get my steps to 7K for the day, plus elevated heart rate.
I find this works better for me than trying to make 30-45 minutes a day to exercise. Time is not really the issue anymore.

I just checked this out and noticed a dance workout featuring Disney’s Encanto… I love that the moves are EASY!

Update: Starting weight 213.5, current weight 210.6. 2.9 pounds down. I have, however, come to a hard earned epiphany after a deep dive, in-depth conversation with my personal motivational expert. I really am not motivated by losing weight. I want to gain muscle tone and flexibility. If I can do that and gain weight I don't care. This difference might be obvious to women but to me it now makes a lot of sense. Maybe this is why I keep failing at dieting. And as this is a "Healthy Lifestyle" thread and not totally "weight loss", I can still try to be accountable to someone other than myself by posting progress (or the lack of it) here. The new plan is to do 30-45 minutes of resistance training 3 times a week (got the first one in today) & eat in moderation.
Still dancing.

Last night was certainly a stress eating night, or a not cooking multiple dinner night. I ate some of the mac and cheese, and boneless wings that I made for the oldest.
HKguy, my goals have always been more based on being healthy for my cross country camping trip in June. So I think focusing on getting healthy vs a certain weight is a great idea.

I had lofty goals for this week, lol.
I wouldn't say I've completely fallen off the horse, but I'm not doing as well as I expected, either.
My idea was to start healthy lunches and afternoon snacks. I haven't done it so far.
But at the same time, I'm keeping the promise I made my therapist of eating a healthy breakfast, drinking 3 glasses of water a day, and exercising 3 times a week. He asked me to do that while he's on vacation and we'll reassess next week when he comes back.
I guess it's safe to say at this point he knows me better than anyone else, including myself. lol. He knows how far I can go and how quickly.
I was scheduled for an appointment with the nutritionist on Monday, but I rescheduled for next Monday. The idea of seeing her again was stressing me out.
Honestly, I didn't like the way she handled things on our first meeting, and I don't want to continue working with her. Nothing personal but after seeing 2 nutritionists I think they have a program, and they want you to follow it. They don't seem to have the tools to work beyond that. It's surprising to me because they all advertise customized plans and small changes to your diet week by week, but you have an appointment and bang, here's the whole program. Start tomorrow, make sure to weigh less next time I see you. Good luck. I'm exaggerating, but you get the idea.
At the same time, I question why I want to dismiss her so quickly. Maybe I'm sabotaging myself without realizing it? The only reason I plan to do 3 more appointments with her is because they are included in the initial package, so I've already paid for them.

In the next session, I would speak up in the beginning and let her know what you need from these sessions. That you need a slower pace, a more tailored plan, etc. If she won't provide that then move on. I wouldn't fire her without trying to get what you need.
You expect that nutrionists should work in xyz manner. Two of them have started off in the opposite manner of what you need. Speak up and let her know what support and guidance you need from them to be successful.

I'm just thinking they don't have the training and the tools to work on a more tailored approach. They have their meal plan, and they try to get you to adapt to it. That's what I've seen so far, My friend who recommended this nutritionist has another one to recommend. But if things don't work out with this one, I'm done. I'm not trying a 3rd one. Let's see how the conversation goes on Monday.

Well, I managed to do my first healthy lunch today. Small plate, half full of veggies, one quarter brown rice and one quarter grilled chicken. A tangerine for dessert.
So far today I did the 45 minutes 3 miles workout, drank 2 glasses of water with another one to go, did the healthy breakfast, and the healthy lunch.
I'm going to ask the nutritionist for lunch and dinner ideas on Monday. I don't want to eat the same thing every day and get bored and head to McD.

Hi Kids! The last couple of days have been annoying, as one of my ankles has been hurting like crazy, and I'm not sure why. My ankle could have been "hinting" at the rain/snow mix that arrived today, but since my ankles feel normal today, it's the first time I'm done my walking in 3 days. Amazingly, I didn't put any weight back on, but I'm sure with limited activity I would have gained some back if the pain had continued.

I've got a telehealth appointment today with my PCP. I had labs drawn last week and I can see already that they're showing continuing anemia, although it's better now than it was last summer. Why I'm anemic is a mystery. I did have an ulcer but it's healed now, and post-menopausal women do not generally become anemic or remain anemic for no reason. We'll see.

Have gone beyond my planned 18 hour fast all week, will likely break it a little early today while taking a break with a friend. And that is ok. Hitting my water goal, need to make good food choices this weekend.

My weight's been a bit of a rollercoaster this week. I had my period, but weight was going up as it was winding down, so IDK. I also got (probable) covid, but you'd think that would decrease my appetite, but the opposite happened. Same with TT. It's getting back to my low now, but what a pita. Still need to at least do a little yoga or something.

Some one bought donuts for the 8th grade break room. At least it wasn't cheese and crackers or raspberry and white chocolate cookies. Regular glazed donuts I can ignore.
Ava what do you like to eat? Maybe we can help out with recipes? I always like trying something new too.

I haven’t met all of my goals for the week, but I’m getting closer. While I have gone above calorie goal, I’ve averaged 50 calories above goal each day for the past week. For me, that’s pretty good. And I’ve been more mindful of making smarter choices so that I maximize protein without too much additional fat and carbs. So I’m becoming more aware of what I’m eating. I went to the gym twice so far this week, and still have the weekend to get more activity. I have to be so careful with plantar fasciitis on my left foot and piriformis syndrome (butt pain!). If I get a little ahead of myself with exercise I get set back again. Frustrating to heal. I know 80% of weight loss is diet but I feel so much better when I exercise. Plus I really want my muscles back!

Down a full pound from yesterday. I don't know why, it's probably a fluke. And, I had pizza last night. I guess that's the new diet food! 😂 I'll take it, though. Ive got homework and still recovering from covid, so probably no exercise today. This illness feels like my allergies when they used to be really bad. I can deal with it, but it's really annoying, and I hope it goes away soon.

Yes, we intentionally call it "Healthy Lifestyle". Weight loss is a goal for some of us, but there are many aspects to a health lifestyle. Whatever you want that focus to be is welcome. For me, the weight loss has only been an issue for a bit. I'm much more interested in being physically fit and hydrated. I gained the COVID 19 though

Sweet frogs is a Frozen Yogurt place. They have some staple flavors, and then a few they mix up. Normally I am just meh about the flavors. You fill a cup with what ever flavors you want from soft serve machines and then put on as many toppings from the topping bar you want. The toppings use to be self serve but now you tell them what to put on it. Normally I just take the girls on Friday when it is no weigh, price is based on cup size, but they had an coffee this time so I add some brownies and fudge to it. I have a weakness for coffee anything.
I crave spicy and cheese. Those are my weakness. I often need to make sure I get enough salt. I tend to leave it out of recipes, and not a fan of it.
I did get a butterfly leg of lamb that was on sale and already seasoned. It is a higher calorie meat then I have been getting, but I have been looking at lamb each time I have gone past it for about 2 months now. The price is normally enough for me to say no to it. This will last me at least the week, so I might freeze some of it.

Update: Still 213 lbs. so no weight loss so far. But with the new focus and regime I am not so fixated on the weight. I had 2 scheduled weight training sessions last week and did them both. I think my new measurement metric is going to be abdomen size in inches. Measuring at the thickness part I am 44" this morning; pants size is 36" so that must be
a pretty big "muffin". 3 weight training sessions scheduled this week along with my yearly physical. Hope everyone has a safe, productive week. Still dancing.
