Have made it to or past 18 fasting hours consistently this week. If I keep that up, it may become my new "setting".

I thought a lot about what was said recently, about making the small changes first instead of a complete makeover of everything. I decided to take the advice myself. I know I need to lower my carb intake, because honestly, most of my carbs come from baked goods or other “optional” things. But I could never stick to my “low carb” goal. I decided to tweak the ratios of carbs/protein/fat to something more realistic. Even if it’s not considered “low carb”, it’s still way lower than what I would usually eat. After three days I’ll readjust the ratios. I figured my habits will be improving over time. Maybe, by the time I reach my goal, I’ll be able to maintain without having to track everything, but for now, I need this.
So yesterday was successful, I stayed within the parameters for calories and carbs. I didn’t do any fasting, though. I woke up very hungry.

Today I did 30 minutes of exercise. I drank 2 big glasses of water. I ate a healthy breakfast. The nutritionist said breakfast shouldn't be different every day. It's better to have the same breakfast every day. So that's what I'm doing. She said to eat a piece of fruit and a carb, and drink milk. So I had a tangerine, a piece of toast with cream cheese, and a cup of milk with a bag of green tea.
The goal for tomorrow is 45 minutes of exercise, which I can easily do, I didn't today because I wasted time and it was late for 45 minutes when I started. Drink 3 glasses of water. Eat a healthy breakfast.

Today was a repeat of yesterday. I did 30 minutes of exercise, drank two big glasses of water, ate the healthy breakfast.
I think now I've been exploring my problems so much, here, with my analyst, with the nutritionist up to a point, I'm mentally ready to go deeper. I would like to try healthy lunch and healthy afternoon meal starting Monday. I'm not saying healthy dinner yet because dinner is my downfall and I think I need another week before I start dealing with it.
Exercise I should be at 45 minutes a day, but I procrastinate. Water intake; I would like to drink 3 glasses of water by now, to eventually get to 5 a day. I'm not a water drinker, even with 2 glasses I have to force myself. I do drink other liquids, like milk, tea and diet Coke. But I want to improve my water intake.
So goals for the weekend are healthy breakfast and water intake. Saturday Im going out but Sunday I will be home and will clean. That keeps me on my feet and moving for 3 hours.
Goals for next week; 3 glasses of water a day, 45 minutes of exercise, healthy breakfast, healthy lunch, healthy afternoon meal. I would like to do a 15 minutes Leslie Sansone workout at noon, so I don't sit for so many hours. But the 15 minutes afternoon exercise is the stretch goal. Fine if I get there, fine if I don't.

Had to go to the doctor's yesterday to have blood taken for routine testing. They weighed me; I'm at 133.6. So, about 5 pounds to go, I think. That should do it. I'm not going to buy a scale when we're planning on moving so soon, so I'll just track my weight using DD's scale occasionally.

I was down 0.2 yesterday and another 0.8, so 1 lbs from 2 days ago. Still need to go down another 0.6 to get to where I was at the beginning of the week. I remembered I had Mac and cheese with one dinner last week. What the hell was I thinking? I don't even like it all that much anymore. I'd like get back to exercising, but I need to figure out how to fit it in with all work and reading for my classes. Maybe I can read a bit while on a treadmill or something.

Well, the scale surprised me this morning in a good way. I've managed to maintain my 31 lb weight loss, in spite of not getting in my usual hour of exercise yesterday. (My ankle was bothering me, probably due to our cold temps, so I don't even think I got in a 1/2 hour before the pain was too much.) My ankle IS better today, and I've already done 20 minutes, so hopefully my activity level will be back to normal today.

Exercise is for the health benefits and muscle tone.

I don’t have access to a scale for several more weeks so I have to rate my weight by how my underwear fits (muffin top). Not the most accurate way to do things, but it’s all I have to go off of for now. I do have a tape measure but I don’t know if that will show many changes week by week.
I stayed within calories and in general within carb range. Ive noticed that I’m since I’m being careful with carbs, I’ve been going over in fat, while needing more protein. But at least I’m staying around my calorie range. I am going to continue to practice staying in my calorie range and macro ratios. It’s nothing too difficult, really. I can still have a dessert, or a special meal, I just have to make choices. I can’t have all of it at once. When I restrict carbs more or go lower in calories it may get tougher, but I’ll stay at this level for a little longer til it becomes more of a habit.
I injured my hip a couple weeks ago, and it’s finally starting to feel better. I went to the hotel gym today and did some cardio intervals for 20 minutes. Much lower pace than usual. I really don’t want to get hurt again.

174 this morning. Wrong direction. Not surprised, last week was crazy with work and I didn't make it to the gym as much. And then Friday I went to my best friends house and had a stress release/ relax night. Saturday I had lunch with my aunt to celebrate my names day, and then the girls and I did pizza out for dinner. Besides the pizza and the drinking sat night, the food choices weren't really unhealthy, just a lot of it. So while it may not have been the most diet/get in shape health weekend it has been a very nice mentally healthy weekend.

I did pick up some heavier weights to lift with my arms at home this week. So that is a plus.

It looks like everyone has checked in in the last week to ten days except: hkguy
How are each of you? (sigh) Embarrassed. I did my normal thing...do good for a week, slack off a bit, then slack off totally. So this is why I posted originally to this thread; accountability. Failure is OK only if you learn from it. Starting again.

I'm thinking I need to try doing some situps, maybe a few other exercises. My weight's not really the issue. I just need to get in better shape. I hate the cold, so don't get out and move nearly enough.

Weekly Check in
Hit step and water goal.
Not so much on the weight and sleep. I consumed way too many calories. Really need to work on limiting carbs.
Not sure what this week will bring. My stress level is at an all-time high at work, which is leading to stress eating.
This week's goals are:
1. 49000 steps. 2. No eating after 9:00 3. Water intake average of 40. 4. Reverse the weight trend 5. Work on getting to bed by 11:00 PM.
01/01/19 177.2 01/01/20 165.2 01/01/21 169.0 01/01/22 167.2 02/01/22 166.8 02/07/22 169.8
I am looking forward to making better choices this week.
Have a great week everyone.

So, I am going to do something brave (for me). As brave as I can be behind a message board where no one knows me IRL anyway. Mondays will be my weigh in days. To the brave part : weigh-in 2/07 = 206.8 LBS Even DH does not know what I weigh, though I did learn that he weighs 204 last week. But he is also 9 inches taller than me.

Have made it to or past 18 fasting hours consistently this week. If I keep that up, it may become my new "setting". It has kept up, so I am setting my fasts at 18 hours going forward.

Easily made it to 20 fasting hours today, probably because Mondays are super busy work days. Lagging a little on the water - still need 2 more bottles, and I like to cut off intake around 5PM. Even then I still wake up to pee, so I am pretty hydrated. It does help keep me from snacking though.

OK...new beginning. Sunday - 213.5
I normally weigh on Sunday morning but I need to be little more disciplined than that now. I won't post daily but every couple of days so I can be embarrassed more often. Depending on dinner should be between 1200 - 1500 calories for the day.
Had a good day today; refinished the baseboards in the master bathroom. Then the snow plows came down the street finishing up from the last fall. They left about 2' thick at the end of the drive. Can't drive over that so spent about 30 minutes shoveling heavy, wet, dirty slop up into the yard. Bastards! Fall down, get back up, keep dancing.

Ok, new problem here. For the first time ever, I've got that "crepe" look on the skin on the undersides of my arms. Never had it until now, so I suppose the weight loss has made skin loose there. Any suggestions are welcome, whether I need to lift weights, specific skincare products, or whatever works.

busymom I've had that for about two years now, and my arms have always been thin. I think for me, jt's an age thing. I'm 62. I think even if I lifted weights, it would still be crepey.
