Sorry about your DS, tcu
I remembered to weigh myself this morning. Down 1.4 from Monday and down 0.4 from last week, so I'm pleased. Laying off the mixed drinks and eating salads for the win. I haven't been exercising at all. Tweaked my back slightly Monday shoveling snow, now I got a little sciatica pain on that side. I wouldn't be exercising anyway because I'm still playing catch-up with my classes. This is why I like to only take one class at a time. More makes me miserable if I'm working full-time.

16.5 hours fasted. Ate a small bowl (1cup) of some rice noodle soup that I picked up at the grocery store a while back but had not yet tried. It was kind of bland, but otherwise ok. 170 calories, but mucho sodium for how bland it was. I picked up some plain rice noodles last week - I am sure I can make much better on my own.
Broke fast at 11:30AM with that and it has held me over pretty good. I like to eat my larger meal of the day between 2 and 3PM and usually end my eating window between 6 and 7, no matter what time the window started. This often helps me get longer fasts in than the 16 hours that is my default. I use the app "Zero" to track.
Already hit my water goal for today, hopefully that helps wipe out some of that sodium.

My pants are making me feel like I have gained this week. Not being very hopeful for Sunday. It might just be water retention form all the pickles and and it being that time of the month. I did make it to the gym last night. Should make it tonight too. My friend who normally meets me on Friday is saying she is taking some time off due to more people being there and the Covid spiking.

I may have to retrench after the milk shake, will see what happens. But haven't eaten many calories today besides. We just treat ourselves once in awhile.
Whoa, 710 calories in that sucker, never looked before. Wonder what DD's blizzard was? DQ Blizzard Reeses pieces 1270! Wow, no wonder our weight got out of hand, we used to get the 2 items quite often.
They will be rare treats
Dilly bars aren't bad 220, will stick to those for treats in the future

Blergh to last week for me. DS(9) ended up with Covid, so we were all home all week and I got way less steps than normal. It was also cold here and I was unmotivated to get outside. So we reset on Monday. And luckily no one else got it (so far, at least). Got a ton of steps in on Monday and a 2-mile walk yesterday. Not as many today, but I’ve already improved since last week. Yay for the walking!

All week, I’ve been ravenous. Like, I had dinner tonight (pulled pork sandwich and salad) and I’m ready for another dinner! It’s been awhile since I’ve felt like I just want eat ALL the food. Hopefully it passes quickly.

I do that once in a while even on meds. I have eaten all my mangoes and apples. I do have some grapefruit I could eat, really like those.
When I get hungry, I can eat a scrambled egg or two, or boiled eggs and the protein makes me feel full.

I've taken up IF the last 3 weeks. For me, I "fast" by keeping calorie count for a 24+ hour period under 500 with no carbs, every third day, or 3 days / week. It was this practice that got me to shed 35 lbs. a few years ago. Now my scale is broken, but I want to shed some Covid weight that I can tell I'm carrying by how my clothes fit.
For exercise, I walk Franklin the Dog for a vigorous 30 or more minutes per day and a shorter walk later. Plus, I'm preparing our house for sale. That's surprisingly physically demanding.

Hey guys! A little birdie mentioned that there was this thread to talk about diet and nutrition…
I have a lot going on right now (who doesn’t though), so I haven’t been real consistent with any sort of program. I was doing WW for a bit but I have been feeling deprived lately, and have been going way over my points all the time. Basically shooting myself in the foot.
Intermittent eating seems to be the most manageable for me. I noticed that when I start eating (especially if I start with something more sugary) it is almost like a switch turns on so I have to struggle all day to make the right choices. With Intermittent fasting it gives me fewer opportunities to make poor choices because my eating window is smaller.

Anyways, the numbers:
147, aiming for 135. So close, but each pound is such a struggle.

Down another 0.6 lbs today from yesterday. That was unexpected. I had no salad because it's gone, but I did have salmon for lunch (pizza for dinner), and I was feeling really antsy yesterday so I was up and down a lot. Also did a few flights to the basement and back. So, I could have revved my metabolism, could be simply water weight or loss of muscle mass because I'm not exercising like I used to. Anyway, not gonna complain, just trying to document want seems to work for me. Anxiety for the win!

18 hour fast yesterday, but started this morning with a blueberry muffin. In the hotel. Today is travel day, so I need to be gentle with myself.

I like eggs as well. Last night I had eggs over easy on top of a salad with some salsa. I had a bigger lunch so went light for dinner. I am not normally very hungry when I wake up. I normally have a yogurt and my coffee, but sometimes just my coffee. I have to put some type of creamer in it or my stomach isn't happy with it. I have never been a big breakfast food person. If I do eat something else for breakfast it is normally left overs. Unless it is blini with sour cream and a type of fish on top. That I can eat until I pop, but it is a treat.

I am doing well sticking to low carb eating and drinking water. Drinking water is easy for me, as long as I keep a full reusable water bottle handy I drink it. My exercise is sporadic. I walk the dogs, shovel the driveway and swim at the Y for exercise. It has been too cold for walks, it hasn't snowed a lot here and the Y has been on a mandated shut down. I figure the universe is telling me to relax. Weight ways I keep bouncing between 170 and 171. But I'm not gaining so I'm going to count it as a win.

Decent eating the last few days, but not complete effort toward weight loss. Had wine a few days this week , too.
I've not weighed since Wednesday, and I need to switch back to the previous page of this thread to see what my last weigh in here was.
Started reading recommended Obesity book. Definitely interesting.

171lbs this morning. I was expecting higher with how the clothes felt mid this week.... But over all happy it was most likely from the tub of pickles and just being a woman.

Up 0.4 from Friday, but I'm still down 1.4 from a week ago. I'll take it. I did a lot of sitting around doing homework and had more booze than normal. We're stocked with veggies, salad and chili for the week, so it shouldn't be too hard to eat healthy.

Have been hitting my water goal consistently. I would like to get it up to a gallon, but I struggle with 6 bottles (96oz).
Fasting goal of 16 hours has been met everyday, sometimes right on the money, sometimes over. I am at 17 hours so far today, going to try to push it past 18 (at least).

Hello, everyone.
This is my first post here. I've been struggling with weight and health issues all my life, and someone suggested I posted in this thread, since it's geared towards healthier lifestyle.
I saw a nutritionist last week. I need help and I know it. This guy was very friendly and enthusiastic, so I got excited. But once I left his office, I realized he'd only given me a standard "meal plan" that you can get at any Doctor's office (you know the 3 healthy meals, 2 snacks, all very specific, zero customization to tastes or personal circumstances). He made an appointment for me in 3 months time, which means I have to do it on my own. Diets don't work for me. Going at it alone doesn't work for me. I felt he set me up for yet another failure. I still haven't cancelled the appointment I have to see him in April, but I will. The type of service he provides is not going to help me.
So I have a friend in Uruguay who's had great success working with a nutritionist. I made an appointment with this professional. It's virtual, and in person when I visit the country. I had my first meeting with her yesterday. It was way better than the local nutritionist I saw last week. With that said, I still struggle. She said to start as I can and we'll build from there. But at the end of the day is a lot she asked me to get accomplished for my first week. All healthy breakfast, all healthy lunch and dinner (you know, the plate half full with veggies, a small starch and a small protein) plus one healthy snack. She also wants me to exercise a minimum of 3 times a week and drink plenty of water.
I have an eating disorder. I struggle with all sorts of triggers and there are mental issues I don't understand well, that work against me. I told her right away that I have an eating disorder. She said it's fine, no problem. She didn't pay it much attention and didn't ask any questions about it.
I don't know. I'm very cautiously optimist. Since she does follow ups once a week, I think I have a greater chance of success with her because we'll talk often. I'll do what I can. I'll try not to feel like a failure. I'll try not to feel deprived all the time. Yesterday night I went to the supermarket after work, bought everything I need to start my new meal plan. I was crying on my way back home.
It may sound weird. But food is one of my few comforts. I have a food addiction.
I'm tired of the pandemic, I'm tired of living alone, I'm tired of the winter cold and snow, tired of not able to see my family for more than 2 years now, tired of having to work in order to pay bills and continue to exist. When do I get to enjoy something? It all seems like a huge sacrifice to me, and I don't see any compensation. I need to change my eating habits to be healthy, continue to exist, continue working, continue paying bills.
I'm sorry about the negativity, I feel really down right now.

Good luck on your journey, Ava. You are the only one who knows what you can handle, but that seems like a complete overhaul overnight. These never work for me. I would focus on changing 1 thing at a time. You might benefit from some sort of "reward" system. Like if you make changes stick you do something just for you. Maybe new clothes, a fancy gadget, or an adventure.
