My only goal right now is to cut down on eating out. Over the last couple months, I've really ratched up my restaurant meals. Ugh. I've also really increased my exercise recently which is making me hungrier. And I'm ok with needing to eat more to fuel my body, but I really should cut back on the tasty, yet highly caloric restaurant meals.

Talk about emotional eating. I'm sharing a pint of Trader Joe's chocolate peanut butter ice cream with DH after I tore the bumper off our car while parallel parking a 12-foot Penske's truck. I do not need this. Ice cream, I do need. Now the insurance company is apparently having technical problems. The app and online do not recognize me or our policy number. I've been on hold for 55 minutes. Yikes! You definitely needed the ice cream!

March 25…147.2 April 4……..144.8 April 9……..149.6 April 18……146.4
Bingeing is back under control. I am having back pain again; that’s preventing my daily step counts from getting above 5,000.
Happy Monday!

I've returned from agent meetings where food was available in abundance. I avoided dessert, donuts, bagels, buns, etc. The only starch I consumed was a bit of purple potato and it was worth it. Lots of alcohol on awards night, however. I balanced that with lots of steps and came back at the same weight. Between tax prep, the neighborhood Easter egg hunt and other volunteering, and the meetings, I haven't had time for the treadmill. I'll get back to it this weekend. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.

Since I wasn't home yesterday. Friday was an okay eating day. I was home and so made a bigger breakfast thinking I would balance it out with dinner. Then the youngest wanted Bacon cheeseburgers for dinner. No balancing it out. Saturday was dinner at my aunts made by the oldest, and Sunday as just gluttonous, the girls grandparents always put on a southern feast for holidays. Not going to make the 145 goal for next Sunday and my ladies league. Oh well. I still think I can make 140 before my trip. 151 today, so up 1lb. Okay goals for this week will be the same. Watch the calories and eat healthy Work out at home-- The Gym may just need to wait until May. Take my vitamins each day I have 7 weeks before my trip starts to get into as much shape as I can. 150 this morning. Working on keeping a positive attitude or at least an understanding attitude about it. Yesterday afternoon was soccer game out of town, and lunch after with the youngest. Last night was a fire pit with friends, grilled chicken kabobs and then smores bar. It was super fun, today Pool league and then it is Orthodox Easter so dinner at my aunts. Not the healthiest of weekends. But work crazy is slowing down, and in May I will get back to the gym. Soccer is still 3 nights a week and weekend games however. Okay goals for this week will be the same. Watch the calories and eat healthy. I will be okay if I stay the same, or so I am telling myself. Work out at home-- This didn't happen as much as it should this past week. Take my vitamins each day

I lie to myself so much about food in take and exercise; it's embarrassing. But, I'm owning it. I'm back to tracking calories. <1600 is my reasonable daily goal. <1450 would be lovely. I did cardio on Friday and Saturday and I will today. Saturday's calories were 1577. I know my steps were lower this week and last. I need to check the averages. I'm not sure that April's step count will be above March's.

It’s hard not to soften the edges of our numbers, but it doesn’t do any favors. Now that I’m so sedentary while off my foot, I had to go back and adjust my calories. It requires a lot of changes to my habits in order to stay under 1400 calories. Apparently I exercised and ate as much as a horse before.

Haven't been making the best food decisions, but still losing (slowly).
202.5 this AM.
The rib is finally starting to heal, though it still lets me know it is there, and DH started a new work schedule last week. On the days that he works he will not get home until almost 8PM, so I am using this to push myself into the gym. Since no one will be home, I can start indulging (yes, I know how that sounds) in some self care and start taking care of ME.

Good news this morning. I had a follow up doctor's appointment.
I went down 5 pounds since January 25 to today. My A1C went down to 7.1. It was 7.7 in January.
My blood pressure slightly decreased, but my doctor wants to bring it down to 135. So she upped my dose of the blood pressure medicine. It still a low dose, the maximum is 40grams and I'm at 10 grams.
She said if my weight continues to improve she'll bring the blood pressure medicine back to 5 grams.
I have a follow up appointment in August.
I was so overwhelmed with eating healthy, exercising, drinking water, etc. a few weeks ago that I completely gave up for a few days. I told the nutritionist I needed a break and I told my therapist we needed to focus on other things for a while. The therapist was 100% focused on my health and it became too much for me.
So I haven't seen the nutritionist lately, and I've been addressing different issues in therapy. But somehow, after a few days of "giving up" I went back to exercise and healthy eating on my own. I'm aware I need a ton of support to continue. I called the nutritionist already to reschedule with her, and I'll talk about this with the therapist as needed.
I'm beyond happy.

Hi Kids! I did regain 2-3 pounds over Easter weekend (we went into full holiday mode here when it comes to food), but I am now 2/10 of a pound away from my pre-Easter weight. The weather here is still colder than average, so it doesn't exactly motivate me to move, but I'm dealing with it.

Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. I exercised Sunday and again yesterday. Saturday I did get steps in via housework, but need to focus on cardio for heart health purposes. Friday night I had popcorn and there was no next day change in scale. I told DH I'm going to allow myself some carbs with every 10 pounds lost, ha ha. Currently eating lunch consisting of leftover T-bone, celery, and cream cheese. I low carb.

Tuesday I went to the veins doctor. Let's start with the good; he can fix the problem. It's a one hour procedure at the clinic. I can drive myself to and from the appointment. Then I need to wear compression socks for 2 weeks, and done. The problem is some small veins are no longer working properly. The main arteries are fine, and these little veins will be cauterized, other veins will take over their function.
The not so good: the red spots in my legs will not disappear. The doctor says it's like having a tattoo on your skin. He said over time the spots will fade a little, but will remain a different color than the rest of my skin. I'm very self conscious about these spots. I guess I'll have to learn to live with them and be grateful the underlying problem is fixable. I'm thinking of visiting a dermatologist later, see if anything can be done. I'm very nervous about wearing shorts in the summer because I know I'll get lots of questions about the spots on my legs.
The bad; the doctor is a jerk. He mentioned my weight as a contributing factor to the problem. He said it wasn't the main cause, the issue is genetic & hereditary. But he said being overweight doesn't help. I get it, I understand. Fine up to that part of the conversation. He should have quit while he was ahead.
But no, then he proceeded to ask me all sort of questions about my health. At first I thought he needed to know for the procedure. But then I had already filled a form with all my health information, medicines I take, etc. He read it because he mentioned my health issues and my medicines. But he wanted to know what other health issues I had. I said none, what I wrote in the form is what I have.
By that time I realized he was staring at me up and down my body with a look of absolute disgust on his face. And I also realized he kept asking because he didn't believe me. Hey, you're fat, you're probably at death's door. He asked about diabetes. I said I saw my doctor the day before and my A1C was 7.1. He asked me if I was sure of that. And he kept looking at me up and down with disgust. Whatever. Maybe he needs to know all that and he thought I was lying. But the staring in disgust up and down my body non-stop was completely gratuitous and unnecessary. I didn't give him any rude reply because, after all, he'll perform a procedure on my body, lol. And I know I'm overweight, I'm working on it. And it's not like I don't fit through doors, or I can't stand for a couple of hours, or move around, or reach my own feet, etc. I don't weight 500 pounds. My weight now is 236 pounds.
Anyway, nothing gives this jerk the right to look at me in disgust during our discussion of treatment. But I'm very relieved to know my issue is fixable and he'll fix it.

I'm thinking of buying some digital Jessica Smith Dvd's. She's a trainer that does walking workouts.
I've been doing Leslie Sansone workouts for a long time. She's fantastic and it's like exercising with a friend. I have a subscription to her website so I can do any of her workouts. But I think she has retired by now, and all the new workouts have a bunch of new leaders, but no Leslie. I like her style, but I dont like these new trainers. And I'm getting bored of doing her old workouts over and over. I plan to continue but I need more variety.
Jessica Smith has a similar style of workout. So I'll probably buy some of her digital dvds soon. I've seen her on her YouTube channel and I like her. Not as much as Leslie, but she's good.

Ava, I am so sorry he treated you like that. Even at my heaviest, my doctors have always maintained a professional demeanor. And, they've always looked at my bloodwork and BP numbers as opposed to the scale number. I so wish you had other doctor options. On a positive note, a close family member had vein surgery and is extremally happy they did. In fact, they wish they would have done so much sooner.

On a positive note, a close family member had vein surgery and is extremally happy they did. In fact, they wish they would have done so much sooner. Thank you. My PCP is very professional and treats me with respect. This doctor is a specialist who will perform the laser procedure on my veins. There aren't many options. Wait times are long. I don't have to see him after the procedure and follow up. I've had bad experiences in the past with doctors, but it's been a while now. He was horrible, but that's his problem. Years before, I would have been embarrased and in tears. But I've been working on myself not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally with the help of a therapist. I was surprised doctors with that attitude still existed. And like I said, his problem. I wasn't rude because he'll perform surgery on me, lol. I'm very glad to hear that the vein surgery is successful. I'm sure I'll be very happy with the results. I'm so looking forward to have the procedure. I told him I'm going on vacation next week. But he said to call before I leave to schedule the date. He said it'll probably be between June and August, and I can travel no problem, because I don't have any blood clots and my case is not urgent.

I've packed my scale for at least the next three weeks. We're moving out of our current home, but we won't move into our next one until the latter half of May. I didn't track calories either today or yesterday. I don't think I went too far over, but I have not had enough vegetables. My step counts have been good though. My exercise equipment is also in storage, so I'll only have walking for the few weeks.

Ava, so happy to hear of your positive health results!
Chloe, good luck with the changes to your routines and the absence of your scale and equipment. Sounds like you have a good plan of action to take the place, but I know it can leave you feeling goofy to be without.
I have been chugging along. This week for 3 out of 7 days I was below calorie target. I can probably improve on this since I ate all the cookies I had. If I don’t bring sweets home I’m much more likely to stay within my calories. Exercise is still pretty minimal because of the foot, but I ge the ultrasound and injection Tuesday so I am hoping I can get the go ahead to use this foot soon.

A new month. Happy to be upright. I maintained the 10-pound weight loss last month and am looking forward to what May brings. Down 13 pounds overall this year.

Healthy eating this week is not happening with all food in the break room this week that parents have dropped off. I did make it to the gym Monday and Tuesday. Not making it tonight like planned since the girls want to go all out for Cinco de Mayo.
