I don’t know how SPACs work - not at all - but this guy apparently does.

I did understand this bit: “It’s a scam.” 

Wonder what happens to all that money if the SEC won’t let this go through. Somehow I think Trump will end up with most of it, regardless of what happens.

it allows investors to get in at ground level.
when they are run by reputable people, they are pretty good investments.
when run by corrupt individuals, there is no end to the horrendous corruption
that they are capable of.

the SEC is right to investigate ANYTHING that Trump is involved with that
involves the phrase "blank check".

If you are talking about DWAC, it has recently been down into the $40s and had a big bump up yesterday & is still holding today at around $60.  I'm hoping that those in Congress (MTG & at least 1 more) who invested lose their entire investment or at least lose nearly all of it.

they have massive gains if they got tipped off before the Trump announcement.

investment stuff has a much lower threshold of liability than other instruments/business arrangements.

my dad used to always say "you can lose everything", because it is basically a TRUST relationship. unless it can be shown that they intentionally defrauded investors, there is very little that can be done.

but shorting it seems like a good idea to me, knowing who is involved. it is probably a major grift.

no, there was something else that happened. 

first of all, there is a general consensus that the SEC investigation is going nowhere.

second, there were a couple of bullish articles that came out last week, including this one:

What Eliz. Warren has to say has no effect on this stock.  The SEC had already started an investigation...now to see what happens there...if anything.

the SEC said something when they opened the investigation that sent the stock up. it was basically that it was a routine investigation, and that they had no reason to suspect any wrongdoing. I am going off memory, but I read articles on it when it came out.

During the power point, which looked like it was cut and pasted from other sources, they included a slide that made it sound like the product would be used by salespeople - which is weird, for a company that is supposedly a media company.

the purchase price for the SPAC was $10. it has to be worth less than that, since DJT has lost money, and gained nothing in the process. anything north of $10 is speculative, based on the idea that this company might be successful. i think everyone can see what it is, by now. it is a grift operation for Trump and his cronies. subscribership continues to fall, as well as advertizing revenue. there is no way this thing is worth $10. so, that is the highest low estimate i can give for it, at this juncture.
