Welp, I've been too busy and didn't realize it was time to call Sirius. For January, we got a full bill. We have two top tier accounts. The charge had been $20.04/month and it's now 49.75/month. I'm attempting the CS chat.

It's definitely easier when they let me do all of this by chat.
They tried to tell me that there was an annual subscription and a monthly subscription. However there's no total difference between the payment options.
Annual Platinum Subscription per car Subscription Fees $107.88 US Music Royalty Fee $23.09 TOTAL $130.97
So, per car is
Monthly Platinum Subscription Fees $8.99 US Music Royalty Fee $1.92 TOTAL $10.91

I would love to get your offers. 😁 You just have to go without a while and they get desperate to get you back. This is the site, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere it was only for inactive accounts.
siriusxm.com/3for99 See, that's our problem. We won't let ours lapse. We're everyday users. They've got us right where they want us.

You have to tell them you want to cancel. I call and have always gotten a lower rate. Always.
They will prorate the current month's bill when they give you the annual rate. Put it on your calendar for next year and call about 2 days before it is to reset.
I have never actually cancelled.

Because I have found that if I decline it, they'll come up with a cheaper rate that includes all their channels (I may have to ask for it, but I get it).

I have not paid full price since I heard about this trick in 2009 or 10. They got enough years of full price out of me. When I bought my new car and activated the free 90 day trial, they extended my subscription by 90 days.

I haven't checked to see what our bills are. We have it on the 2 vehicles and an inside unit hubs has in his garage or when he is working on a property, he takes it with him. So no ours has not lapsed either. I'm sure we are paying too much. Need to take the time to find out. I just procrastinate.
Our bills are internet, landline, and basic dish, plus Sirius so not too bad I guess. But could be better.
Our house is total electric, so only that, and a water bill, and trash bill, part of which goes to the LLC because renters use it too. We could live cheaper if needed, but the entertainment we have, we really enjoy, don't do much else.
Around here think we have gone backwards. Ordering from catalogs again and even basics. Like it was 100 years ago. Though there were more stores then, than now. That part I don't like.

I never paid full price, but I did discontinue it for a few months, until I learned this trick.

Just an FYI. Sirius radio periodically makes a number of channels available for free, typically for holidays such as Memorial Day. They are doing it now, beginning today through June 5. See their announcement at www.siriusxm.com/offers/free-listen. It also includes a link to a channel guide for the available channels. Edited to add - That link only appears to work - maybe? - where I've had an account in the past. Well, try it. And try using your Sirius radios in your cars. It worked for me - and I haven't subscribed in years. Or it may not.

I heard an ad today, on Sirius radio saying that it's free this week. I'm not sure what day the week started.
Also, when my DB died, I found a SiriusXM radio amongst his things. I was driving an 87 Toyota Corolla at the time, so it wasn't built in. I called the company to get it hooked up and they sent me a brand new one free. My guess is that if you need one and call and ask, they'll send one out at no charge. They want your business.

Well, my SiriusXM just auto renewed for the year and the price (with tax) went from $6.44 per month, to $24.99 per month for the premium plan. A difference of $77.28 per year, compared to $299.88 per year! That's huge! Am I happy? No. Will I keep it, at that price? No. I'll be calling them and if they can't, or won't match the price I've been paying, for the same service, I will drop them, like a hot rock. There are too many other options available out there, to pay that ridiculous price.

I just did our 2 subscriptions in the last two months. I did it via chat and they were super quick to offer me the price I paid last year. I pay yearly. Just tell them you want to cancel because it is too expensive.

She doesn’t have the streaming option but she’d never use it anyway. Good luck!

Dammit, with everything going on personally I missed that mine renewed last week and I paid $25 instead of $4.99. On chat now to cancel.
Renewed at $4.99. Easy peasy. Took like 2 minutes. Set a calendar reminder for next year. I usually get an email saying it is about to renew, but did not this year.

Instead I got an email from Discover that my reoccurring charge was different than usual…

I got emails in June and July for mine and the subscriptions renew in August and September. They only sent me the one email and it was pretty far ahead. I managed to forget for both until I saw the charge but luckily it was a small amount to sync the cycle or something and not the full yearly amount.

I'm going to chat with them again when I feel better. The "deal" they gave me was monthly and I want annually.

I didn't get a notice, or reminder. I just saw it when I checked my bank balance. But when the same thing happened last year, they gave me a credit for the difference, when they changed my monthly rate. I just woke up, so I haven't called them yet, but I will soon. I had a dream right before I woke up, that made me angry (over a dress I had to wear, that I hated!). So I'm trying to calm down, before I call.

I did a chat and did get them down another $1 per month but they wouldn't do a 12 month contract. So we play the game again in 12 months.

I've found that the Sirius reps are not helpful in getting me the best deal. At most they have offered me a better deal. I'm up for renewal in a few days. They just sent me a notice of automatic subscription renewal. Base price is $18.99 per month ($23.05 with the royalty fee) for the Music & Entertainment package. Obviously I will not be accepting that plan. If anyone can share the name of the package they have and what they charge for it, I'd be forever grateful.

That is the plan that I have, and that is what it renewed for before I caught it. I just used the chat feature on the website and said I wanted to cancel because of price. They immediately offered the lower price, after taxes $7.43/month.

I had to chat twice to get it down to $7.78 per month. First offer was over $10 base and I said no. The base is $5.99 per month.
It's a special rate for special snowflakes that will take the time to play their game.
I said I was going to cancel because of price. I got to go through two offers and the first offer yesterday was the same one as the $10 for a one time annual fee. I did the division and said it's the same monthly rate. Cancel it. They came back with the $5.99 plus taxes and fees.

Success! I had to chat with the initial person, transferred to a specialist who ghosted me, then got transferred back to an initial person, and then to another specialist who couldn't read the chat history so I had to give them all the info (name, address, phone, account number) again. Finally got it done, similar to TheOtherMe, $5.99 base, $7.27 with taxes and fees. I'll take it. It's better than the $23.05 they quoted me on the renewal notice. Now I have to do the same with my internet. XFinity will be gone soon.

Glad this thread was bumped as the promo I had is expiring this week and was set to renew at $23.99 + taxes. Online the cheapest option is $13.99 + taxes so I'll be giving them a call Thursday to see if they can offer anything else. I don't drive a lot but will be going back into the office regularly two days a week in a few weeks and much prefer ad free sirius xm to the radio.

I just did the chat, as my subscription was renewing at the old (high) rate as well.
It took maybe three minutes. I have the Music & Entertainment package, and they offered it to me at $5.99. I took it - though I had it for $4.99 last year.
Mine had also renewed on 9/6 at the normal price of $18.99 or whatever - they asked if I wanted to start my new rate now or have it be retroactive to my last billing date - I said I wanted it retroactive and have the credit added to my account. There was no issue doing that!
So - I highly recommend the chat! Super easy!

It should have the name of the package you have now. That way you can compare apples to apples. I received 4 months of sirius' top package with the vehicle I purchased earlier this year. They sent me an offer via email for 3 additional months for $2 which I took them up on. Haven't seen anything in the mail but I have my log in that I used earlier today to see what's set to kick in (top plan that I currently have) and when. I'll either cancel all together and see what they offer me or try calling, likely the latter based on the success many of the people on here have had. I don't need to stream to other devices nor do I listen to talk radio so the cheapest option they have will work. Honestly if I hadn't received it for so many months when I purchased my car I would have never tried it out. Any type of music you want to listen to with no ads is great after decades of radio stations which seem to play the same songs and have more and more ads each year.

I like that I can listen to "my" music with no ads. I do also subscribe to Apple Music. If I decide to drop one, it will be Apple. They will have you a better deal souldoubtYes, I got elevated to the "specialist" when I didn't accept the one that was almost $10 per month. I would hate to cancel after all of these years, but I will never pay full price again.

I just renewed at 6.99 plus taxes - total of $7.72 per mo, for music and entertainment pkg. Only 1 phone call and no song or dance, which I appreciated. I also asked that it be retroactive. They will credit my account.
Glad to have that over with and done.
I hate listening to commercials.
