Tried to online register DS5 for the clinic conveniently scheduled at his school on Tuesday. Got all the way thru and at the last step it says he's not eligible because he's <18. Guess they haven't updated the decision SW on the county's website, yet.
We are going to just show up and see if they will do his booster. Registration is just recommended for boosters.

Got boosted. So far, just a slight headache. Glad to have it done. My Monday appointment had been cancelled due to shortage of vaccine at this county clinic.

got boosted this am, at one of the mass vax sites. I piled the pups in the car and we took a scenic 45min back roads drive up to the place. it was actually a drive-thru place, and the guys giving the shots/filling out the cards were so happy to see the pups. they even had cookies lol... I was in and out in literally 10min. by far the easiest of the three places I have gone. here's hoping this doesn't knock me on my ass tomorrow.

If you got Moderna, then I am happy to say I did not have any side effects - not even the sore arm from the previous 2 shots.

We go on the hunt for the booster when we get home. We were not eligible before we left.

After I got my 2nd Pfizer, I thought I had gone into menopause. Suddenly, I had no periods, and I had a couple months of hot flashes, and then I thought I was DONE. Got a Moderns booster, and now my periods are back. Maybe complete coincidence, but a long time ago, I was put on Prozac, which completely stopped my periods. (Doctors told me that was not possible, but I kept taking it--nothing, stopped for a day, and boom--period.) I also read somewhere that Prozac help inhibit getting COVID.
So, anyway, I guess I went through those hot flashes for nothing?? Dammit!

Got the Moderna booster Friday afternoon. Arm is still sore. Woke up achy on Sunday and DH noticed the injection site was splotchy, this morning there is a 3x5 red square around it. I marked it to see if it grows. For once I am glad it is cold enough for long sleeves.

I got boosted (Moderna) Fri 10th around noon. Felt like crap all day Saturday. Same side effects as the original shot regimen (Moderna), fever, chills and my arm feeling like it was walloped. I felt fine by yesterday morning though.
Wen t to Walgreens first which is where I got my first shots. They were only doing Pfizer boosters at that store, so I went to the health dept. There was no wait at all for the booster.

DN1 said yesterday their age group (under 40) can get boosters in Toronto started January 4. They were hoping to get boosted before Christmas so they could come here. It's less doubtful they will come now that they can't get a booster until then. They were on the fence before and this might have stopped that idea.

Got boosted last night at 10 pm bc that was what was available on Sunday. Figured that was important since I telework on Mondays. Maybe a little extra tired and arm a bit sore.
Our state health department got hacked and they haven’t posted new case rates in over a week, so I have no idea what the current picture is like. I do know our neighbor down the street apparently tested positive. They are vaxxed and careful and I have no warm fuzzies about anything covid related right now.

No periods for 2-3 months and hot flashes, then normal periods and no hot flashes for 2-3 months. My OBGYN said it is completely normal and menopause typically last 2-4 years. Currently, working on no period for 4 months (which is the longest for me so far). Keeping my fingers crossed this is the end. Still a few hot flashes here and there...not saying you are wrong just that the transition can sometimes take a while and you usually go through several cycles of on and off periods/hot flashes. I'm ready to be done!

Boosted yesterday. Arm was sore and I felt fine until late morning. My head feels like crap and I want to rip my right arm off. Good thing I'm a lefty. Kept falling asleep at my desk this afternoon but not sure if that was vax related or my usual afternoon slump.

Got my booster. We're as protected as we can be now.
The pharmacist said a lot of the cancelations we're seeing for boosters have been lack of staff. He said Walgreens paid all of their employees a $1000 bonus but it just isn't enough to keep people.

DS5 got his booster, and a $25 Amazon gift card!
One of the teachers (P) at the HS told me she was *just* back after having Covid; she assumes she got it from a student. Her young daughter had a cough, so Dr decided to test daughter; when P mentioned she wasn't feeling well herself, Dr decided to test her, too. Daughter did not test positive, but P did.
Another family with twins had it, too. Mom and one child had Covid, other twin did not.
It's really going around here, now. And yet the deniers refuse to mask up now - the governor reinstated the mask mandate statewide as numbers grow. Some local town/county politicians are coming out in opposition to the mandate, and are vocal about refusing to enforce it. Not helping matters, guys!

I'm double vaxxed and boosted, and I wear a mask when in public, indoors. I'm in a high rise building for the next month and it's surprising to see the number of people who don't mask up in corridors, lobbies, elevators, grocery stores, bakeries, the trolley, etc.
Going from the land of Newsom to the land of DeSantis is eye-opening.

I'm scheduled for a flu shot later this morning. The CVS web site helpfully pointed out that COVID-19 and the flu are different viruses. I'm usually a minimalist when it comes to vaccines and don't bother with them, but when the potential disease is a lot scarier than the vaccine, I go for it. In this case, I figure it would be bad to land in the hospital with a bad case of the flu right now. My tally for this year: 3 Moderna COVID-19 immunizations, 2 Shingles vaccine doses, and now the flu shot.

I've been to Florida twice in the past five weeks or so. No one masks unless it's required like at Disney or at the airport.

By year's end, I will have had the same number of shots as athena. I get my 2nd shingles vaccine later this month.
I have had shingles and I never want those again.

It doesn't help when there is a pharmacy on every corner in some towns. Never understood how they all stayed in business. This may be the end of pharmacy expansion

And I have seen the customers treat the pharmacy employees like shit too. It's embarrassing to be a human and see how other humans act sometimes. What is wrong with people?

After the past 5 years you have to ask that question? We were never as good as we thought/hoped. Trump just let the genie out of the bottle
