Iggy aka IG my brother has a running joke that all good home improvement projects require a minimum of 3 trips to Home Depot/Lowe's to complete. It does seem there is always something missing.

My guy was here today and pulled up the rug in my office, the plan is for him to put down the laminate tomorrow. I finally went into the spare room to clean up and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. One bag full of garbage. The bedroom set is going to be picked up on Monday and that will clear things out for me to paint. Then hopefully next weekend (March 20 & 21) my guy will put the laminate flooring down in that room. Then I will get my bed frame and dresser moved down from my room. That will then leave my room nice and empty to be painted. (March 27 & 28) I also sold my car today. My step daughter and her husband bought it, eventually it will be the vehicle mainly used by the 16 year old grand daughter. ISO and I will have one week of working out sharing a vehicle when I have to drive into work, then I am WFH.
Things are coming together!

I'm going to get a new bed frame for my room. I have all my clothes in the closet now so I don't need dressers. I'm going to get my tv mounted to the wall. I really want to do an accent wall in wallpaper but I will let that wait.

Work life to do this for this week: Finish the final case study Answer emails in my inboxComplete my annual report and submit it Finish writing the exam that I'm giving next week Record a lecture and post it to my class pageI am having a hard time motivating myself to finish the final case study -- this week I will try to get this done. Here is my new list for the week: Work life to do
- Finish the final case study
- Prep my class content for the week and deliver
- Grade projects that were submitted
Personal to do- Give away or take to Goodwill: Clothes, dishes I have not used in years, mailers
- Clean my bathroom and vacuum my house
I feel like we are making progress towards getting out of this COVID mess, at least in my state. Our teachers in our county are getting the vaccine. Hopefully we can keep making progress on vaccinating people in our area. It helps that spring appears to have arrived -- my early spring flowers are blooming. I am having a very hard time motivating myself to work. I have given myself permission to a max of 5 hours over the weekend and most nights I end at a reasonable hour and relax. However, it seems like I have gone the opposite direction that with this relaxation, I can't get myself into "work" mode as easily. Has anyone else experienced this? I can't decide if it is a result of COVID and teaching remotely or if it is 10 years of going full throttle working nights and weekends and now that I'm giving myself periods of rest, my whole body -- mentally and physically wants to relax and not go back.

paynointerest, I know what you mean about trouble getting back in gear. Everything is a distraction from concentrating on any task now.

paynointerest I have the same issues. Recently I find it's either feast or famine for work or no work. I think it's a combination of burnout and getting older, and Covid. With only teaching from home, part of me feels like I work constantly (even if it's not true, and I've always prepped and marked at home), just because I NEVER change environments. I was very good about work/marking this weekend. But I know that's ONLY because I found out my kids were coming over unexpectedly. Otherwise I'm sure I'd still be procrastinating. Getting out for a walk/exercise always helps me, even if I know I don't do it often enough.

I really want to do an accent wall in wallpaper but I will let that wait.laterbloomer I'm not trying to make you change your mind at all. But I will say that it's easier/cheaper/faster to PAINT an accent wall than to WALLPAPER it (unless you're as good at putting up wallpaper as you are at painting LOL.) Since you're painting that room anyway, you COULD always try a painted accent wall and see if you like it. We have a red accent wall in our DR, and a cornflower blue accent wall in our bedroom (both painted). Both rooms have striped curtains to bring the solid colors together. Again, you're making AMAZING progress!!! Just a suggestion. :-) At the end of the month you're going to have to update your list again! Your last complete list was posted on 4 February at 4.57 pm.

The funeral is tomorrow, I am not welcome. (I already knew that.) When my ex/late MIL died 5 years ago, I "wasn't allowed" to go to the funeral, but I was able to go to the synagogue for the service. My ex doesn't want a synagogue service, my ex SIL does. Because of 6 pm curfew here, it would start at 5.15 pm. I finish teaching at 4.50 and we're 45 min away. DS1 or DS2 will text me to tell me if there is a synagogue service or not. So I need to be dressed and ready to finish my class 20 min early in case there is. DH offered to take the motorcycle, which we don't do in winter. Once again, my DH is such a star!!! We all HATE that synagogue because it's orthodox, so men and women sit apart. But it's my out-laws' local synagogue, so that's how it is. So here's to hoping it doesn't rain tomorrow, and than I can plan my class well enough to finish 20 min early. I really do want to pay my respects to my FIL, and support my kids.

Of course you do and I hope you get to attend a synagogue service if there is one. Why is there always drama around funerals. Your children do need support.

Because no matter how OLD some people are they have never become adults therefore they act like little children no matter what. Makes my head want to explode when I see this type of behavior from so called adults. I would be tempted to send them diapers to wear. OK, rant over but this is one of my pet peeves

Iggy aka IG my brother has a running joke that all good home improvement projects require a minimum of 3 trips to Home Depot/Lowe's to complete. It does seem there is always something missing. DH went to home depot and bought an outlet cover for a double receptacle. He broke it on his way into the property where he meant to install it. DH and I cleaned the house Saturday am, then went outside and took down our Christmas lights that were still on the trees and we had a big snowman and some other ground display stuff that was frozen to the ground until the snow melted. Put all that away then went to his office and did electrical work until about 9:30 pm. We also worked there about 7 hours yesterday. We mostly got the electrical done. DH has two outlets that were in there prevously, but the power was disconnected for some reason. He wants to reconnect it. He may have found the wires yesterday. Otherwise he is going to try to fish new wire. I did not want to leave DH working in the attic alone, and we wanted to get it done. you cut a hole in the ceiling for the can lights, and all the loose insulation falls down as you are fishing the wire through. We got all the can lights done. There will be a few new HVAC vents for the new HVAC filtration system, but I think the holes are already cut in the ceiling. He can clean everything up and put the offices back together now. They will be installing two new picture windows, but the are replacement windows and go in from the outside and they are putting in a glass door. DH has too much crap shoved in the back room of his office. DS and I will have to try to get him to take about 3 loads to the . When DH insisted I clean up the house on Saturday am b/c his friend was coming over, I told him I did not want to just throw everything in a box b/c it was the tax paperwork and it would get lost. I had wanted to go work out on Saturday am, but I got dressed to go, and ran downstairs for something and found my DD crying because her Dad had reamed her out. I changed my clothes and just threw the tax stuff in a box and put it in my bedroom. His friend did not come, which is what I figured would happen. I have had this happen before. My Son was pretty disgusted with his Dad, he kind of asked me what was up with him. DH scheduled our appointments at the clinic for our vaccines, and told me we were supposed to bring our vaccine records. I have mine from my Mom from when I was a kid, and I may have something for DH. I could not find it. I seriously need to spend some time in my office and file and purge stuff.

A rare weekend post. I went to bed at a decent hour last night, so I woke up relatively early. Today's focus is on the "master suite": ~Shower curtain and the 3 bath mats have been laundered~Next up is the floor, tub, and vanity~Dust and vacuum our room In addition: ~3 more loads of laundry (am halfway through)~Dishes~Finish taxes ~Sweep and Swiffer the main floor ~Clean both sides of the kitchen sink window with DH's help Speaking of, he started removing the old dishwasher in preparation for the new one, and apparently we need a new valve. It's always something! I saved some fun for next weekend.

The service was cancelled because the funeral ran very late. We arrived just as DS1 phoned to tell me. There's a service on Thurs, so we'll go then. It was stressful racing to get there on time but stuff happens.

This week's to do list:
Clean out DS2's closet (woof)- I just pulled all the clothes he has grown out of out of his dresser and brought up the totes of the next sizes we saved from DS1. Everything is washed and organized, but he's now at the point we need to hang hoodies and jackets, etc. The dresser is too small. But the closet is a hot mess because we've never needed it for its real use before now.
Finalize plans for our last minute vacay- the boys' spring break begins Thursday and runs through next week. We've decided we want to go somewhere Sun-Wed/Thur before we get swamped with spring activities. Gatlinburg is a 7 hour drive, so it's looking like we will end up there. I am NOT a last minute trip planner, so I am getting anxious trying to make decisions so quickly.
Meal Plan- I want to start batch cooking/freezer cooking once we get back from our little getaway. So, when baseball starts up in full 7 day a week swing, I will have easy options.
Pay bills/Balance my checkbook- It's just been a hot minute and I don't like to go that long without balancing.
Complete all open orders for my biz- So I don't have to worry about them on break. I am closing my boutique down while my kids are off school.
Pick up mulch for flower beds- Like 20 bags lol.
I am sure I will be adding to this list....

my sideboard will be here by noon today. woo! I got a pic before T packed up the trailer this weekend, and it looks great. the only thing he didn't do was door handles, but he's staying local for a couple weeks so it will get done before he heads out. or, I can do it, nbd.
this afternoon, I'm meeting someone to sell the balance ball chair I bought a few months ago. I've tried, it's just an awkward height for my desk. bought for $70, used for a month or so, selling for $50. whatever, cut my losses there and clear out space.
ETA: it's here! it needs a tweak, though. I'm trying to figure out how to post a pic, b/c Tapatalk isn't cooperating. maybe I can still get in to Shutterfly.

58 - Saving4Norway I am collecting all the paperwork for taxes which I am doing on Thursday. It's going to be very interesting. I have mine, Dad's and the Estate Taxes to deal with. Hopefully there won't be too many unknowns.

I didn't need to take any vaccine records to get vaccinated for covid. Had to bring the paperwork from the 1st one to get the 2nd shot.
Why would vaccine records going back to childhood be needed?

OK, got it - Shutterfly linkthe tweak is that the open cubby space is too big (which I originally thought from the sketch, too) so I've got 12" pipe sections on order, arriving tomorrow. T will come back and swap out the 18" ones you see here. I need to pick up some cabinet handles at HD today, too. I know what I'm looking for, just didn't want to pay Amazon's price for them when I ordered the pipe sections. the wood is cedar, rough on the doors and polished/varnished for the top. it definitely fits the space, for sure. also - that TV isn't staying there.
