Greeting all!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
It has been a while. Managed to declutter quite a bit recently. Some items were donated to a local school but most of the items were trashed. I have been keeping busy. Tomorrow I will be on Zoom for several hours. It is my usual three classes.
My old washer and dryer have now been replaced with a new pair. I had hoped that the old ones would last a little longer or at least until the next sale but it was not in the cards. Anyway the new ones were delivered this morning. I did manage to get the laundry area of the garage straighten out and pitched a lot of random items from that area. Achievements this week:
*Taxes have been filed. *Laundry and dishes are caught up. (Managed to finish laundry before the flooding in the garage from the washer.) *House is mainly organized and maintained. *Ordered class kits *Necklace finished and a second one done.
Need to sign off. Bad weather is approaching. Will check in when I can.

It’s been stormy all week and I’m lying on the spare bed in my office listening to the rain with my dogs. I did get my indoor greenhouse set up with a heater and lights and the first few seeds have sprouted! I need to do more tonight but am feeling sick so rest for now.
There’s 100 things to do but next up is getting a dirt delivery, buying a wheelbarrow and picking up some 500 bricks in a nearby town. Lots of investments I hope will last years and years and allow me to set up my kickass garden.

Ouch on the flooding moneysquirrel . I hope it wasn't too bad. Yay for the new machines! My ex sister in law has covid, so my 3 kids who were at the funeral are all contact cases, including DS1 who is staying here. He tested negative last night but it's still early days, so he's staying in his room till he leaves tomorrow. DDIL and DGS will stay with her parents until DS1 tests again next week. What a mess. For now DH and I are still going to the synagogue service tonight, but obviously my ex SIL and kids won't be there. We're being (partially?) locked down again here. We'll get the details this evening. And I go back to school on Monday. Great timing. Will run out later and get a few more items to add to the pantry/stockpile ... just in case. This weekend- DH's Quickbooks - mark 8 Job 2 videos

"DH scheduled our appointments at the clinic for our vaccines, and told me we were supposed to bring our vaccine records. I have mine from my Mom from when I was a kid, and I may have something for DH. I could not find it. I seriously need to spend some time in my office and file and purge stuff."He's a adult and find his own medical paperwork. You have enough with making sure you have everything for you and the kids. He knows which doctors and pharmacies that he's been to so should have no issues getting the info. Yes purge and clear/rearrange your paperwork and office but don't automatically take on the burden of becoming his caretaker/manager. GD forbid if something ever happened to you and if he leaned on you for everything he will have a very difficult time managing. Sorry Bean -- maybe I am just a bit touchy today and reading about your husbands attitude did not help any. But it sounds like everyone can recognize that he was being a pill. Good luck! I am the keeper of our personal records. DH was born in Mexico, so most immunizations were done there. He went to grade school here, so he is fully vaccinated, but I am not sure how we would reconstruct the records. I don’t remember if I had DH’s immunization records, but I had mine. The state now keeps the records, so you can pull the full record for my kids. DH and mine only reflect adult immunizations. Idk why they asked for them, an opportunity to make $$ on booster shots? My husband is not lazy, he is remodeling his office right now. Parts were done by contractors-walls were moved, drywalled, carpet torn out, tile put in, an interior air lock, and a new hospital grade air filter with UV to kill Covid-19 and other germs is being installed. He is waiting on a new front door and replacement windows. He installed new outlets, new led ceiling lighting and is painting. The office has been closed to visitors for 2-3 weeks. His priority is getting that done. He will mostly be done with that after this weekend. DH is concerned about his longer term ability to make $$. We are both stressed about $$ right now.

Ouch on the flooding moneysquirrel . I hope it wasn't too bad. Yay for the new machines! Flooding in the garage was minor. At least it wasn't in the house. Can't complain the old machines were between 18-20 years old. Definitely got my money worth with them. The installer also gave me a few items that I thought were needed but the old ones were in good condition so those will be returned tomorrow. Also need to make sure that I got the 0% payment plan. Discovered that did not happen on the last purchase I made. I was able to quickly pay that one off before the interest was added but this purchase is a little more and I don't want to pull this much out of savings at one time but I will if necessary. Weather was a little rough yesterday. I think that it will be better for the next few days. Feeling for those in its path today. chiver78 -- Love the piece. I think that it will make you happy. Today is class day so I need to get moving. See you later.

A rare weekend post. I went to bed at a decent hour last night, so I woke up relatively early. Today's focus is on the "master suite": ~Shower curtain and the 3 bath mats have been laundered~Next up is the floor, tub, and vanity~Dust and vacuum our room In addition: ~3 more loads of laundry (am halfway through)~Dishes~Finish taxes~Sweep and Swiffer the main floor ~Clean both sides of the kitchen sink window with DH's help Speaking of, he started removing the old dishwasher in preparation for the new one, and apparently we need a new valve. It's always something! I saved some fun for next weekend. Valve has been replaced (DH did a great job!) and the dishwasher is supposed to be delivered today. And it is nice to have pulled everything from under the sink so I could take inventory, toss a few things, and put rags into a container to neaten things up. I swept the dishwasher opening, and cleaned the floor in front of it in preparation. I really was expecting worse-a stained sub-floor, etc., so I was relieved. Which leads me to: DH is tired of replacing valves, so we are going to get serious about installing a water softener. I am not feeling 100%, so am going to wrap things up here at the office and leave for a long weekend. Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend. Hugs to everyone!

Hope you feel better Iggy aka IG! Enjoy the long weekend! The service has been cancelled, because everyone who was at the funeral is now a contact case. I'm frankly relieved.

TheOtherMe now that you've been vaccinated, maybe you can ask a friend, or make an appt at an Apple store? If I were you I'd make an in-person appt at the Apple store/Genius Bar. Or else maybe your grandniece or nephew, if they're on a Mac? Frankly it's much easier to do it in person. And Macs are MUCH easier to use than PCs (JMO), but even Macs aren't that easy to set up, especially if you're coming from a PC. Once it's set up, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it! We're locked down again for at least 4 weeks. We are allowed out for unlimited exercise, and schools remain open. So I will indeed be going back to school on Monday, for the first time in 5 months. Two days on campus next week, then 3 days/week for the following 2 weeks, then it goes back down to 2. At least I'll be walking around campus again ... I can use the exercise!

The guy that helped me with a 20 minute call said the Apple Stores are all closed so the Genius Bar isn't open.
I don't think anyone else in the family has a Mac. Canadian nephew might so I will have to ask.
I am sure I will be happy once I get it figured out. The first guy sent me some articles to read about going from PC to Mac. I think I need to read those.

Yes, since he's a UK resident. He has to do more covid tests after he arrives though.
Washed DS1's bedding and remade the bed. Towels and bathmat in the machine.

Does he have to quarantine?
I did some research this morning. I can put my favorite browser on the mac. The instructions I found have pictures of where to find the program after it is downloaded.
I need pictures to do this.

Yes TheOtherMe DS1 has to self-isolate, but he doesn't have to go a "quarantine hotel". DDIL and E are staying with her parents until DS1 retests on Sun. Fingers crossed that he continues to be negative. Glad you're making good progress with the Mac!

DN1 said if you make it into Toronto and test positive, you have to go to a quarantine hotel for 14 days. It costs $2000

Four bags of trash left the basement on Monday, and on Thursday 2 bins of ancient magazines (why was I keeping those?) went out to recycling. There is now an empty corner in the basement.
Current area of focus in the basement is along the wall closest to the stairs where I plan to set up one of the storage cabinets I bought several years ago but never put together. It will then keep cleaning supplies and the like corralled in one spot and off the floor. This will, of course, require not just clearing out the stuff currently occupying that site but also putting the cabinet together. This could take a while (and will not doubt require a considerable amount of swearing--assembling anything always requires a lot of swearing).

Great progress dannylion ! I know you're close with your neighbors. If you get stuck putting the cabinet together, maybe they can help? I'm guessing you'll manage just fine! We have our pantry in the basement too, but on open shelving. TheOtherMe it's pretty much the same in the UK. If you don't have a place you can isolate (even if you test negative!) it costs 2800 for a quarantine hotel + mandatory testing (euros or pounds, don't remember). DS1 can "self isolate" because he is a resident. But he has to pay OOP for the mandatory Covid tests, because he travelled. The UK considers that you shouldn't be traveling abroad for ANY reason right now, although they allow it. So if you DO travel abroad, the cost of the mandatory Covid tests are on you. (If you didn't travel but you think you may have Covid, testing is free.) It costs £200-£250 to get a test that is processed within 24h, ie for someone to leave the UK. I think it's about £100 once you're back, because the test is less rushed. You may remember that when the UK locked down RIGHT before Christmas, DS3 got on an earlier train, and made it here RIGHT before the UK lockdown. Once the UK and France reopened the borders 48h later, several close friends had to pay £200-£250 to have their kids' Covid tests processed within 24h so they could make it home for Christmas. Absolutely NOT judging, just explaining. PS Happily DS1 can afford the testing. If he couldn't, we would have helped.

Also, when I do things for myself, I get to do them on my schedule and can take lots of breaks throughout the process and have snacks and naps whenever I feel like it. I'm going to save my neighbors' goodwill for the things I can't easily do myself like schlep the spare refrigerator from the garage to the basement when I've got a space cleared for it. Doing that by myself would not only require a significant amount of swearing but also carries a distinct risk of bodily harm. I'll happily work around someone else's schedule and forego a nap and even snacks to avoid breaking an appendage.

Heck, I even yell at my flowers "grow dammit" it works.
But I agree with the whole post. I save big stuff for my son. But when he finds out I did something by myself that he thinks I should have called him for help he asked "and how many curse words were spouted while you did such and such" He knows me to well.

Well we decided to take a very last minute spring break vacay next week. We were going to visit Gatlinburg (6.5 hour drive), but then we realized 4 more hours in the car and we could be at the beach in Destin. So we let the boys decide, and they unanimously voted for a beach trip. We rented a condo on the beach, so that we can have a kitchen to save $$ on food. Our plan is to spend most of the 4 days being beach bums. There are a couple shopping areas I would like to check out too. Maybe do a dolphin cruise or play some putt putt. Really, H and I just want to run away for a bit to spend time with the boys before we drown in our activity schedule. I am crossing my fingers for decent weather. We usually do not do Florida trips until at least May. The ocean's current temp is a brisk 66 degrees lol.

I got Firefox installed on the Mac last night. I do know where to find programs now. I couldn't get Firefox to sync with this computer because I couldn't remember my password and I tried too many times and got locked out. I will get that done today and download the two programs I purchased. All of this between hoops games and talking to baby. Talking to baby is most important.

Good morning! This week that is ending was finals week for college. The upcoming week is spring break for both college and my work. We're taking this weekend off in our travel trailer. Then, I'll deep clean the entire house Monday - Sunday plus get caught up on work stuff. I didn't do any deep cleaning in February, and I've given myself permission to accept that/not beat myself up about it.
