Makeup, skin, and hair -- the good, the bad, the ugly

This is an expensive thread 
I ordered the Fade Into Hue (rainbow) eyeshadow palette and a cool pink lip gloss from colourpop, and the elf smoky eye brush kit from Target.  I really wanted to get one of the elf bite size palettes but decided I didn’t like the colors available enough.
I am going to have to do some serious bathroom decluttering if I want to be able to put these things away...
I also dug out a set of eyeshadow and lip pencils I ordered on impulse years ago but never used.  
Darn.  Meant to see if Target had the nyx concealer.  Next time, I guess.

Let me know if the colors of the Colourpop palette are as vibrant IRL as online when you get it. I've been on the fence about that palette for a bit.

I was reading an article about contouring blush which was apparently an 80s trend?

I decided to give it a try and I  like it.   I start at the apple of my cheek then come  up to my temple lend in a C pattern.

It does give a nice glow and makes me look like I have some cheekbones.

They look bright, but they’re more subtle when you apply them than the morphe palette.  But then the morphe palette honestly seems like it comes out much darker than I was expecting based on the color in the tin, so I dunno if that’s a fair comparison?  I’d say colourpop is a little more work appropriate.  Also, so far I’ve only played with the purples.  I honestly don’t expect to ever use the yellows (I am really really pink undertoned!)

Clear as mud?  

ETA:  Actually looks like they’re plenty bright, just the lighting in my bathroom sucks.  I put on what I thought was a medium amount, then wound up turning off the camera on my zoom meeting bc it was pretty visibly purple on camera with natural light

Yeah, I honestly don't need it. I have so many palettes I can pull all the colors in it together from those.

I'm still looking for "the" pink eyeshadow.  I have "the" pink lipstick according to my hair stylist.  Now I just need to find the bright, pure pink I'm looking for.  One of the Housewives of Salt Lake City had on one that I would love to have.  She looked so awesome in it!  I'm convincing myself that I'd look awesome in it too!    She has the same pale skin I have so it's likely a good color for me.  Now I just have to find it.

I live by a blog I follow.  There are no bad colors.   Undertones, shades and intensity of colors may not work but no color is completely off limits.

I've been playing with yellow eyeshadow.  Neon is awful with my skin tone.  However light lemony yellow with a bit of sparkle brings out the brown of my eyes.

And I do sometimes rock make up that doesn't quite work cause it makes me happy.  Neon pink eyeshadow is not my ideal but I LOVE it.  It's make up it can always come off.

OK.  So I'm still looking for the perfect pink eyeshadow and have found a couple I like.  They are creams rather than powder though.  I've never used a cream eyeshadow.  Do they crease badly?  Do you apply with a brush or your finger?  Do they last as long as the powders do?

I have many a liquid eyeshadow and it really just depends on how I apply it. These I blend out with a fluffy brush. The tiramasu color might be the pink you are looking for.

Also, if you're looking for a single eyeshadow, you might try Colourpop super shock shadows. They're really good and they're only $6.

different subject- I need a new foundation. I use Covergirl Aquasmooth. It's like a cream, which works good on my old skin. But, the color is no longer good for me. I look at recent pictures, and I kind of look dead. No kidding. Should I stick with that brand and just go a little darker? I'm currently using Classic Ivory. Or should I try a tinted moisturizer?

What level of coverage do you want? Do you have dry or oily skin?

What level of coverage do you want? Do you have dry or oily skin?

More dry. It's wrinkly and not a lot of elasticity, so foundation is hard for me. I'm pretty fair skinned too.
