I was recently turned on to NARS foundation. I can't say enough good about it. I apply it with a dampened sponge and set it with a translucent powder and it is awesome. It gives me great coverage without looking thick. And it lasts all day. As for facial hair I do a combination of waxing and tweezing. I get my eyebrows and mustache waxed every couple of months at my nail spa and tweeze in between. I have a really good magnifying mirror I got from Costco. For the peach fuzz I use those little shaver things. It sounds like a lot more work than it is. If it's the luminous foundation and not the skin tint, Wet N Wild make the same foundation for a cheaper price. No sense in spending $50 on a foundation when you can spend $10. How do I know which one I have?

Wouldn't the clay suck out the moisture? I have the most ridiculous version of combination skin. Parts are dry. Parts are oily. Parts are red. Parts were insanely pale but now have dark spots. Nothing works for long and no one thing works alone. I need cheese with my whine.

So I played in makeup again. It was another fail. I know I’m having trouble with my eyeshadow because I have hooded eyes. I try all the tricks I read and see on videos. It works beautifully on videos, and make the eyes look more perky or whatever instead of downturned, but I just can’t get it right. And for the life of me, I can’t seem to get my blending together. Also, I’m reconsidering the foundation I’m using, Fenty something or other. I always thought I wanted light to medium coverage, but maybe I need more. What’s you all’s favorite foundations? Lastly, staring into the mirror doing my makeup and stuff has forced me to admit Mister has been correct all these years when he’s said I’m hairy. I started thinking maybe it was true when I started getting my eyebrows done, and they would remove hair from way above my eyebrows and between my eyes and hairline. Now, I see that I do indeed have a slight mustache and sideburns. Eek! This is why I’ve always thought that being “girly” was a lot of work. I was perfectly fine being in denial about hair on my face. Now what the hell am I supposed to do? I have at least 20 foundations open right now. Does your skin lean oily or dry? The one I'm currently obsessed with is the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation. It makes you look like you have a filter on your face. I have crazy dry skin, but I can see it working on oily skin too if you lean that way. www.sephora.com/product/tarte-amazonian-clay-16-hour-full-coverage-foundation-P473821?skuId=2476083For the eyeshadow, if your eyes are downturned looking after applying the shadow, have you tried using eye tapes. You could place them before applying the shadow so you literally can't put eyeshadow in the places you don't want to. You put one end at the outside edge of your eye and the other end at the edge of your eyebrow. Guaranteed lifted cat eye. You can get them at Target too. They are pretty long, so you could cut them in half and get more uses. www.elfcosmetics.com/line-and-define-eye-tape/84069.html?cgid=toolsbags-tools#srule=price-low-to-high&start=6&sz=12TWENTY

I’ll check that out. I’m struggling with where exactly to put the eyeshadow. The “hoods” on my eyes are kind of fat on the outer corners and that’s what’s making things look weird to me. I’ve studied pictures and watched countless videos on eyeshadow for hooded eyes, but I’ve yet to see someone with the “fat” part to see what they do about it. I’m pretty good at coloring within the lines, I just can’t figure out where the lines need to be lol.

TWENTY Sounds like foundation is to andi, what lipstick is to me. I’m pretty sure I have more than 20 lipsticks. Lipstick is about the only makeup that I’m pretty sure I know what looks good on me. Bold, rich, darker shades look best with my skin tone. So I have a lot of plums, a few purples and dark browns, a few dark reds. I have to really be feeling myself to wear the reds lol. I wanted so badly to get on the nude lip bandwagon, but it just doesn’t look good on me.

I have hooded eyelids. I use my finger to blend on the lids. I smoodge it on with a feathery brush then blend using my index finger.
Sure I have to wash my hands but I've found it works better and keeps the eyeshadow where I want it.
I use a flat wide eyeshadow brush for the crease and blend using the edge of it.
It's taken some practice and I don't look like a TikTok model by any stretch but I'm happy with the results.

I have hooded eyelids, too. I tilt my head back and put the darker crease color up on the fat part, but leaving some space for the highlighter shade between that and my eyebrow. I also use the highlight shade on the inside half of my lid. I do a very basic, quick, 3 color eyeshadow though.

I think part of the problem in addition to my hooded eyes is that I have what seems to me to be a lot of space between my crease and my eyebrows. I feel like I’ll look crazy with eyeshadow going that high, so sometimes it looks like I was scared and barely out any on. Basic and quick would be great.

Can someone recommend a good liquid eyeliner. I need to get it for a gift and I have no idea what to buy and where.

What I do is try to make the crease look like it's higher. Take the crease color and start at the top of the crease and take it from there maybe halfway to your brow. As you've noticed, much of that gets hidden away in your crease. What I try to do is try to make the eyeball part look larger, with the highlighter, and the browbone less prominent with the darker crease color. Then finish up with the darkest along the outer edges and along the lashes. Anyway, experiment with that concept, and you'll discover what looks best on you.

I'd guess at least 100. And you can wear nude lipsticks and be any skin tone. If you want I can suggest some. Some people just prefer bolder colors though.

resolution has created a monster, showing me how to post pictures. So, here’s what I mean by hooded and downturned eyes, extra fat on the outside corners, with a lot of space between the “crease” and eyebrows. Your eyes are just as hooded as mine are. You can take it much higher than the crease.

So everyone with hooded eyes, your crease where the hood is is not what you want to treat as the crease. Your "crease" is where the eye meets the orbital bone. Should I do a hooded eye tutorial? Would anyone be interested? I'm busy the next two Sundays, but after that I'm a lazy bitch. Just let me know.

I don't know if they still make it but Almay had a three color compact that came in colors coordinated to your eye color.
It had a visual on the back to show you where each color went.
Man was that helpful. Words like crease meant nothing to me. I kept the package for a long time.
With my eyes the hood makes it hard to blend. I use my finger to blend. If I'm feeling ambitious eye shadow primer helps too.

I’m having trouble with the outer corner. Where the outer “v” with the darker color starts and how high to take it.
Looking at that closeup of my eye from the side, I may have figured it out. I guess I’ve never seen my own eye closeup from that angle lol.
I’m going to play with makeup sometime today. I will report back.

A friend texted me last night asking if I had tried Juvia's Place foundation. I replied "girl, you know I have both of them." She’s acting all types of brand new.

Have to admit I didn't read through all 20 pages, so sorry if this has been brought up, but I love The Ordinary line. I was using Peter Thomas Roth's Water Drench. Ulta was out. I was sad. Lady who worked there told me I could pay $55 for PTR or get a much higher concentrate of the active ingredient for $5. Bought The Ordinary's Hyrolonic Acid serum instead. Also, love the squaline for dryness. Basically, they take trendy ingredients and then just sell you those. Not only do I like not paying for all of the scents and fillers, it is much better for my rosacia.

I have a few The Ordinary serums--the hyrolaunic acid and the ascorbic acid. My younger daughter was the one who told me about them. I definitely prefer the price. I'm a pessimistic person, so I have no idea if those or anything else are actually working.

It requires an RX, but is available generic and cheap. With rosacea, it also tears my skin up. He mixes Retin A with Hyrolonic Acid because he said it is a very good moisturizer. I don't know either, but I can actually use the Rentin A with the mix and not have red, flaky skin.

I can't do hyaluronic acid with my rosacea. Salicylic acid I can, no problem.

My younger DD also told me about The Ordinary line. I have the AHA peeling serum, retinol in squalene, and Vitamin C with hyluronic(can’t spell it) spheres. I asked my dermatologist what ingredients I should be looking out for and those are what she recommended. They are strong, but I see a difference, in my mind anyway.
