www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/06/06/fake-trump-electors-ga-told-shroud-plans-secrecy-email-shows/A staffer for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign instructed Republicans planning to cast electoral college votes for Trump in Georgia despite Joe Biden’s victory to operate in “complete secrecy,” an email obtained by The Washington Post shows. “I must ask for your complete discretion in this process,” wrote Robert Sinners, the campaign’s election operations director for Georgia, the day before the 16 Republicans gathered at the Georgia Capitol to sign certificates declaring themselves duly elected. “Your duties are imperative to ensure the end result — a win in Georgia for President Trump — but will be hampered unless we have complete secrecy and discretion.” The Dec. 13, 2020, email went on to instruct the electors to tell security guards at the building that they had an appointment with one of two state senators. “Please, at no point should you mention anything to do with Presidential Electors or speak to the media,” Sinners continued in bold. If what they were doing is legal, why the secrecy?

Dumbass Proud Boys were letting a documentary videographer follow them around, and he got some nice video of the Proud Boys conspiring with a couple other insurgent groups in a parking garage near the capital on J6. Guess who has that video now. Thank God for stupid people. The news this morning was the documentary videographer will be interviewed Thursday evening by the J6 committee on ABC'S live coverage of same.

I’ll watch them but don’t think they will change much. MAGA minions won’t watch, and a certain percentage of people don’t care about politics and won’t watch - and those are the two groups that need to see it most. Trump is apparently set up a group of loyalists to watch the program and plan an aggressive counter attack. I think he’s shooting himself in the foot with that. He’d do better to simply ignore it - his minions will. I’m betting the Amber Heard Johnny Depp hearing got more viewers.

Happy- and others -
I will be watching too, but where to watch? Is any one station more credible/reputable than another?
Fox - Not covering it, so they are out. CNN- I saw the recent rumblings about changes in their news crews, but have not closely followed MSNBC - I like CG, I like Rachel Maddow. I also like Nicole Wallace. I also have been Known to watch Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon on CNN.
I just read a bit about where CNN's new President Chris Licht wants to take the network (less partisan), so I guess we should try to watch CNN more and see how it goes. I like Rachel though, so we will probably flip channels a bit.

As long as the hearings are not interrupted for network talking heads to discuss the hearings until after it is over each evening it should be fine.

A shot or sip when anyone says insurrection. Except I have to go to work tomorrow. I’m going to be interested to see poll numbers done before and after these hearings to see if the number of people who believe the big lie shifts.

For them to now believe it was a lie would require self-reflection and to admit to themselves they were a fool to believe trump. tough to admit one is wrong and that they have been 'had'.

It's 5150 time. Trump says January 6 'represented the greatest movement in the history of our Country' ahead of House committee's first public hearingFormer President Donald Trump on Thursday defended his "Save America" rally on January 6, 2021, that later morphed into the Capitol riot ahead of the first public House hearings on the insurrection, calling it "the greatest movement in the history of our Country." The Un select Committee didn't spend one minute studying the reason that people went to Washington, D.C., in massive numbers, far greater than the Fake News Media is willing to report, or that the Unselects are willing to even mention, because January 6th was not simply a protest, it represented the greatest movement in the history of our Country to Make America Great Again," Trump wrote on his Truth social platform, repeating his favored line of attacking the bipartisan select committee as the "unselect" panel. Trump and his allies' reactions are being closely watched as lawmakers begin a series of public hearings into the January 6 attack and the former president's broader efforts to overturn the results. Top Democrats on the panel have promised jaw-dropping information will be revealed. Republicans have little insight into what will come out, but are trying to mount a preemptive defense. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is also leading the preparation of an alternative report into the riot. Trump continues to falsely claim that he won the 2020 election and that there was "massive" voter fraud, despite even some of his top advisors admitting that President Joe Biden won. The former president also repeated his debunked suggestion that he ordered 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the Capitol. In true Trumpian fashion, he increased the number to 20,000. "The Unselect Committee has now learned that I, as President, suggested & offered up to 20,000 National Guard, or troops, be deployed in D.C. because it was felt that the crowd was going to be very large," Trump wrote. The Washington Post found no evidence of such an order as far back as December 2021. Rather, the source of the claim appears to be Trump telling then-acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller that he was "going to need like 10,000 people" ahead of the rally. But the Defense Department simply interpreted this as Trump blustering and it went no further. As The Post points out, Trump knew how to go about executing an actual order. Biden's Defense Department later told The Post that it found no record of such an order either. Further evidence also shows that those troops may not have protected just the Capitol. Then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows wrote in a January 5th email that Guard members were on standby to "protect pro-Trump people." Trump says January 6 'represented the greatest movement in the history of our Country' ahead of House committee's first public hearing

Such a coward. McCarthy should not be a leader of anything. McCarthy a follower. Bad News, All: Kevin McCarthy Says ‘Everybody in the Country’ Bears Responsibility for the Capitol Riot
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said everyone in the United States is responsible for the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Well, that’s a bummer. On that day, supporters of Donald Trump rioted at the Capitol in an attempt to stop certification of the 2020 election, which Trump baselessly claimed was rigged against him. They succeeded in delaying certification for several hours. Trump held a rally in Washington, D.C. earlier in the day and urged attendees to march to the Capitol to “show strength.” A week later, McCarthy said on the House floor that Trump “bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters.” McCarthy later walked back that claim in an effort to regain Trump’s favor. However, it wasn’t until Thursday when McCarthy revealed the true culprits in the Capitol riot: us! “You’ve said both publicly and privately after Jan. 6 that you thought Trump bore some responsibility for the attack,” the reporter began. “Do you still feel like he was in any way responsible for Jan. 6?” Appearing at a press conference on Thursday just hours before a primetime hearing of the House Jan. 6 committee, McCarthy was asked whether the former president is responsible. “I’ve answered that many times,” McCarthy responded. “I thought everybody in the country beared [sic] some responsibility, based upon what has been going on – the riots on the streets, the others.” That’s right. We – all of us – bear responsibility for Jan. 6. Yes, the minority leader is talking to you, Bill. You too, Amanda. Alex? Oh, you better believe you had a hand in that riot. Also, let me tell you, Sarah, you might be more responsible than anyone. For shame. And Kipp! Oh, I see you, Kipp, trying to hide behind your monitor. Don’t act like you didn’t have a hand in this mess, friendo. Own it, buddy. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go sit quietly and think about what I’ve done. Is Liz Cheney reading from a Teleprompter? possibly, but I thought she did well. she's speaking a lot of truths that many in her party don't want spoken. these speeches at the start of hearings are often pre-written, so if it's delivered via teleprompter, that wouldn't be a shock to me. I was struck by how much time she took to speak, as a Republican. I know she's been so outspoken again Trump in the aftermath. also, watching this footage again is nausea-inducing. the voice overlay is priceless. a Town Meeting member in my hometown was actually charged for her actions that day. I'm probably turning the channel to hockey soon, for my sanity. I'll find highlights tomorrow.

Does Kevin McCarthy think anyone is going to buy his nonsense except for the peeps went to the rally or wanted to? GOP personal responsibility has been dead for a while, still this is pretty blatant for spin.

I thought it was a brilliant idea to have the young woman, the granddaughter of a marine who served in WWII, testify about how, as a Capital police person, she tried to hold the insurrectionist back. Very compelling testimony from an excellent witness, I thought.
Maybe most outrageous moment - when someone told Trump the crowd was chanting to hang Pence, and Trump said ‘He deserves it.’
I don’t like Pence, but hie was an impeccable VP for Trump, always standing there at his elbow smiling - and Trump thought he deserved to be hanged. Incredible.
Very good connect the dots on the Proud Boys and that other militant group, outlining their well planned strategy to attack the Capital, and film clips of them moving as a team through the crowds.
Of course, they didn’t have to convince me about what happened. I don’t know if they convinced anyone who wasn’t already a believer. Know for sure they didn’t sway Cruz, who was running his mouth about what a waste of time it would be to watch these.
Next testimony will be Monday.

Really? I had nowhere to go, so I sat in a chair and watched it all unfold in real time. It was on all the channels. That said, I am constantly surprised at how some people don't have the TV on like all the time. I guess my tinnitus makes me hate "silence".

I actually had known there was co-ordination between Proud Boys, and the Oath Keepers and the Trump Admin.
It has always sickened me how ill prepared the crowd control/police presence was for the expected crowds. There are probably concert events in most cities that have better crowd control measures. This was an intentional failure to provide security.
I don’t think anything will come of it, because the republicans already control the country. Democracy is a Myth. The rulings coming from the Supreme Court are shocking.

Had to watch Fox News this morning, so here ya go:
Only one side was presented because Peloski rejected all the Republicans They should be looking into who was responsible for lack of security that day when they were warned Just a hit piece on Trump (they didn't play the part of the speech where he told his mob to protest peacefully) This is to try and get the American public distracted from inflation, gas prices, etc
