Soy is everywhere especially convenience stuff. I can't have it. I'll be sick. My dad's theory is that it's a cheap filler. My DH has slowly learned that this is why I make most things from scratch. He used to complain but know he's experienced seeing it in every dang thing. The latest was the chicken fajitas at Aldi. I thought they'd be an easy quick lunch and we have a bunch of tortillas to use up. Had soy protein in them. I'm sorry it makes you sick.

Carl, if you need recipes check out Skinny Taste. You can filter by diet including vegetarian. I get stuff from there all the time and I'm not even following a specific diet.

Down to 376 lbs as of this morning... I am trying not to get obsess with the scale and limit the amount of times I check my weight on the scale (it is more about how I feel and how I look vs a # on the scale) but my NP said to do it everyday. Right now aiming for 1-2 twice a week Carl, if you need recipes check out Skinny Taste. You can filter by diet including vegetarian. I get stuff from there all the time and I'm not even following a specific diet. Thank you, and I bookmarked it. Looking at some recipes right now .

I officially weigh myself once a week, Mondays at work, in the mornings. The dispatch staff keeps a scale in the kitchen. I figure they won't mind if I use it. I don't actually own a scale anymore. I'm using myfitnesspal to track weight but not anything else. I'm not in the right headspace to track calories and water right now.
I'm surprised your NP said daily - our weight fluctuates daily, based on water and God only knows what, so you're going to see it go up and down, which can be frustrating for some people.

I used to get easily frustrated at day-to-day fluctuations so I never stepped on a scale at home, but in late 2018 my weight crept up from 126 to 131 lbs. over 6 months, as measured at the blood bank. I decided to put a stop to that and bought a digital scale that syncs with my smartphone and generates graphs. I like graphs. I've learned not to go nuts over 1 or 2-lb. fluctuations from day to day- sometimes it's just a difference in, ummm, bowel habits. I try to keep to around 123 now.

I actually like weighing every day, if I have time (which I don't lately because I keep sleeping in). Extra salt intake, or whatever, is fresh on my mind, so I can make quick adjustments, instead of having a big surprise at the end of the week. I find it much easier to control my weight that way. I mean, if you can gain that much in a day, you can also lose that much in a day, so no need to freak out about it. Just try to recall what are/did the day before, and move forward from there.

She kinda use similar logic/arguments to try to convince ... about how based on my weight that morning I can adjust my diet for that day. But for me it is what I posted above (not the primary focus) and second: no 2 days are alike. I think it is much easier to weight yourself everyday if you have a pretty set routine, go to bed around the same time every day and wake up around the same time every day.... I did not go to bed till 6 AM this morning and woke up at 11 AM... tomorrow I will probably be up by 8 -9 AM so will force myself to actually be in bed by 3 AM since we are closing on our refinance tomorrow at 10 AM. Off Saturday so May sleep in... etc.

I'm a daily weigher as well. Step on the scale after my morning pee right before I step in the shower. I know I have fluctuations in weight depending on day of the week (I might weigh a pound more Monday morning than I do Thursday morning, because hello weekend beverages and dining). But knowing my body and how my fluctuations work, I then know if it's just weekend bloat or if I need to make adjustments.
I lost 37 lb in 2012 and have kept 27 lb off eight years later (5 lb I can attribute to getting my IUD in 2014), so the changes I made and habits I've kept work for me. But that's just me; everyone is different and every system that works is different.

I threw my scale away a decade ago. My clothes tell me what I want to know. And, if I don't like what they're saying, I buy new ones. lol. But, real talk, I scheduled a wellness check for next month. My life got very sedentary after I left the military, even moreso when I went back to school, got less so last summer when I was working more, but then went full couch-potato when I moved to the middle of small-town Iowa last fall. Funny thing is, I didn't think it could slow down any more and then COVID shutdown hit six weeks after I moved to Indiana. I haven't weighed myself since my last visit to a gym back in January. That was 214lbs. I'm sure I'm hovering around 220-225 now. But, once I see the doc and get all the results (I'm also having them draw for COVID antibodies 'cause why not), I'll get started. TheHaitian, I wouldn't sweat the day-to-day numbers. They're good to know and track but your best progress check is monthly. You got this!

I don't own a scale. Haven't my entire adult life.
The reason is I had anorexia as a teenager and until my early 30's. If I hit 90 pounds, I was trying to take it off. I weighed myself multiple times a day. Doctors told me to get rid of the scale.
I can tell what is happening by the way my clothes fit.
Between the last hospitalization 3 1/2 years ago and the colonoscopy last month, I had lost 30 pounds.

Then you can periodically check the app to see your downward trend and avoid any feelings from day to day fluctuations.

Yesterday I was breezing through the shopping center on my bike and saw a young man sitting in a wheel chair outside of the dialysis clinic. (It's a sad commentary in itself that there are quite a few of those clinics around here.) One leg had been amputated above the knee. Wow. Prevention is good.

I did not get around to them yet but we are grilling this weekend and my wife wanted me to pick up beyond burgers and sausage for the whole family.
Besides that my ON whey protein shake is the only product I am taking as of yesterday that is not plant based. I think I have a week or two at most left of servings.
Milk: testing out almond milk original - no sweetener (that is what MIL had been using also).

The chocolate almond is good in coffee, in place of creamer...if you drink coffee.

I need to find a good alternative to mayo, I used to love using that stuff on all my sandwiches and/or wraps. Twice I have used it and made a mental note I need to switched it up; I have used hummus at times as alternative/filler.
Just made a cucumber and avocado sandwich and this morning I made a spring mix and spinach wrap with hummus (whole wheat on both bread and wrap).

They make Vegan mayo. I've never tried it before but a few people on FoodNetwork swear by it. Keep in mind they might be getting paid for it. You'd have to read the label to see what the fat, sodium and sugar content are for the various brands, it's not going to do any good if all those are similar to regular mayo.

Thank you, I think I saw it in the produce department; will check it out when I get back to work on Monday: I ordered the Vegan Powder tonight vs waiting till I run out with the whey... figure better have it in hand than having to wait till I wait it out. I think I have about 1-2 weeks left of the one I have on hand. Besides that, almond milk is not too bad! Need to work on doing more cardio!

That's my go-to dressing for everything.

When I make egg salad, I add smushed avocados for some extra flavor and good fat.

Cheated today... is it a cheat if I am still in transition? Eat 1 slice of pepperoni and cheese pizza!
Beside that went ti Costco and got 1 container of hummus (it is about 4 size the containers I usually buy at work and cheaper than 1); some guacamole, some salad fillings and coffee.
Used the CPAP fit a second day last night, for ~5.5 hours... definitely get more rested rested than I would usually feel and if my Fitbit I’d correct I have actually reached REM/deep sleep; even if for a short time.
Still need to see the doctor about the mask fit which is still an issue. But going to keep forcing myself to use it.

Pesto also makes a good condiment for sandwiches, especially with mayo. If you like garlic, you might want to try toum. It is a Lebanese garlic sauce, where the ingredients are garlic, lemon juice, salt and canola oil. It is good on anything. I need to make more this week. I used to buy it at the condiment bar at my grocery store, but they no longer make it. I cam make a batch and it lasts about a month. Soooo good. feelgoodfoodie.net/recipe/lebanese-garlic-sauce/

I rarely use mayo, so I'm not sure what you're trying to use it for that it even has to be replaced. I do use mustard on sandwiches on the off chance I have a sandwich.
I love cheese. LOVE IT. And, I've been lactose intolerant my entire life. I still have at least five and usually nine or ten types of cheese in my cheese drawer at all times. I just can't give it up. I've given up drinking cow milk, but not cheese and not ice cream.
I do like hummus. At Costco, there should be a bag of salad labeled something close to "Super Food Salad". I've been enjoying that a few times a month for the past few months. I eat half a bag at a time. It comes with a poppyseed dressing.
