In the Dark took a turn at the end of season 1 that I didn't see coming. So happy to have found a show that has 3 seasons of 10+ episodes each. The last few shows I've picked only had one season so would end just as I was completely invested - Firefly Lane, Georgia and Ginny, and a couple more I've forgotten. Have them marked in case they get picked up for another season.

Anyone watch or watching Midnight Mass on Netflix? Just finished watching episode 4. thoughts or opinions from those who watched the limited series? I watched that. I’m a big horror geek. The writer/director also did The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor (sp?) for Netflix. Those were both based on novels (bly manor is based on Turning of the Screw)- very very Very loosely based. I also liked how if you watched those shows carefully there were often ghosts hidden in the background. Midnight Mass he wrote himself and it’s different. Very talky and philosophical, which I’m not sure I like in a horror film. I did like his premise in one way but I’ll wait for you to watch the rest of it, don’t want to spoil it.

Just watched 2 episodes of The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel. I'm finding it kind of creepy and the cat jumped up on the sofa and scared the ever loving crap out of me. I also like to watch TV in the dark. It's very interesting though...it's only 4 episodes. I don't think I can stay up until midnight to finish it. That one took an interesting turn - it exposes the dirty underbelly of true crime fans and their sometimes obsessed/ dangerous behavior. The whole thing was really sad.

I watched the rest of it Saturday night and Sunday morning. I normally keep my front door open until well into the evening (makes the living room seem larger with an outdoor view). But after watching episode 5 Saturday evening I closed the door. And I am not a superstitious person. I found many references to our world today. I too found part of the show too talky and philosophical. I wanted to move a lot of the bible stuff along. But I understand why it was needed. Overall, I liked it and would recommend it to others.

Reminded me of the dangers of internet conspiracy theorists (not unlike what we are currently dealing with regarding the vaccine).

Gads German had just gone through such a terrible war and suffering the effects yet some were wanting another The first two seasons were great but I got stalled in the middle of the third. I think I'll go back and re-start. Probably the only time in history (and on TV) that the head of the secret/political police is actually the good guy!

I liked how the creature could seem like an angel to someone with a very profound faith (ability to heal people, and he gives eternal life) and yet to most people, the creature was clearly evil. Proof (to me) that the devil uses peoples faith against them, to trick them. Glad that character ended up realizing that the creature was turning them into wolves. That director always has some effective shots. When the thin, overcoated figure was walking away along the beach in the storm was one of those - not scary, really, but creepy.

So sad for the family that this happened, and also that the conspiracy nuts went crazy with it.

It has a lot of episodes

The creature to me was evil from the get-go. There was nothing warm and fuzzy about it to me. Glad I watched it. I thought the son who returned to the island would be the series hero. Boy was I surprised at his departure.

Looks like its next season will come in summer 2022.
Good girls next season will hit Netflix in March. There was another show were Christina Applegate killed someone. Hope it comes back too as it was entertaining. In the Dark reminds me of it.

Finished In the Dark a couple of nights ago. It ended in a cliff hanger, so I went snooping online. Sure enough season 4 will be out late 2022 which makes me weirdly disappointed as I will struggle to remember characters and back stories. I've become so accustomed to binge watching a whole series at once LOL.

Just started watching Glee--finished season 1 tonight. I can see why it was so popular when it was on regular TV. Jane Lynch is great at being deplorable. lol.

We watched all the seasons of manifest that were available for streaming, but it was a difficult trudge during the end. I dunno what bugged so much about it any more. It was just kinda dumb.
We're watching Merlin now. It's cute but so incredibly predictable. You'd think they'd learn to suspect the newcomers/strangers after they turn out to be the culprit every single time.
My DH's book series is having a Netflix series coming out soon. Looking forward to that, though the name escapes me at the moment. Something to do with time, I think.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the Brokenwood Mysteries on Prime. It's a New Zealand detective show and it's rarely violent.

I started the most recent season of "Shameless" last night and may not finish it- just getting too gritty and depressing. Even the characters who seemed to have a chance of getting out of their situation due to brains, drive and work ethic can't seem to get out of it. The one character who may be an exception (Fiona) is off in Europe for the season.

There's only one season left. There was supposed to be two but...drama. So, now, there's one to go and it will continue on Netflix.

I just finished agent's of shield and the ending was awful. I can't think of another show that had time to wrap up that had a worse ending.
I also felt bad watching it because it's a Joss Whedon show and the stuff that has come out about him is gross and disappointing. But I feel like the shows are bigger than just him and boycotting it affects the other people involved in it for something out of their control.

I'm re-watching Dexter on Prime.
Picket Fences is now on Hulu. I think some of us were talking about this show at some point on a thread (not sure if it was this one or not). Wanted to pass the info along since I remember a few of us saying how much we wanted to watch it again. It's going to rain here all day tomorrow so I plan to watch a few episodes. It's been forever since I have seen it. I hope it holds up well.

We binged all the episodes of Ghosts on Paramount+ (CBS). It wasn't roll on the floor funny, but it made me laugh a few times, and kept me smiling the whole time.

We've been watching Wheel of Time on prime. I like it, but dont love it. They're releasing episodes weekly, which makes it a little harder to get into it.
I might have to see if my library has the series.

I might have to see if my library has the series. I'm planning to wait and watch it once the season ends. I like to binge watch stuff. Dropping weekly is okay if it's something like a detective show that is basically a different case being solved every week, but I prefer to binge anything with a more intense or complex storyline. I also don't really understand streaming channels dropping stuff weekly. One of the reasons streaming became so popular was due to the fact an entire season would drop at once.
