If you are referring to my Kasich post, I wasn’t joking. He’s exactly the kind of person the Repo-Con party needs. Bi-partisan Congressional history and executive experience as a governor. Rather bland and not a rightwing extremist. I am not sure they can win that way. and don't mistake what I am saying here. I think they SHOULD be able to. but the GOP is really not a big tent party any more. that is why Kasich lost last time, and that is why he is likely to lose this time.
the GOP is the party of the aggrieved under Trump. they don't stand for anything positive, despite the slogan. they are there to salve the injury felt by those that feel their status is being eroded. I honestly don't see how you can market that idea in the way that Biden markets group hugging.
Oh I don’t want him to win. Just put him up based on speculation of who the GOP could put up last minute.😎

It doesn't. It might help a candidate running against Trump in an election. Unfortunately, the number of 'maybes' produced by his detractors, has reached a stage where less are paying attention to it. It's starting to come across as bs to many, without even looking into it. Perhaps. If true, how many will decide that the best way to deal with it is to not renew the shit show for four more years? Don't know, the Trump voters are a closed mouth bunch. They made an ass of most pollsters at the last presidential election. I was so sure he was going to lose last time, that I didn't even check till the next day after the vote was long counted. I'm making no guesses this time. I got my two Supreme Court Justices installed, I'm good. Have you checked how they've been voting ? It's not what most were expecting.

I've been thinking about the Whig party a lot. It is interesting to read how it crumbled and parsed itself out. It would be plausible for the GOP to split. If they created a moderate version, they could get lots of voters, a few leaders and syphon off a bunch of Democrats who think that party is going the wrong way. But, it would be a disastrous mess and would take a long time to get things settled. The Republicans will only let that happen if they have nothing to lose. They still dominate Governor position and state and local politics, so even if they lose the house, senate and White House, they won't be fully discouraged. I would be all for this IF they brought back the name "Whig Party", and all wore powdered wigs. 🤪

the bench sometimes converts the judge.
it is rare for a liberal judge to go conservative, but it sometimes happens that a conservative judge goes liberal.

I stopped by Mom’s house tonight. She was criticizing Biden, saying he supports abortion and is not all up there mentally. Trump has so mishandled Covid-19, stirred up racial tensions, diminished relationships with former allies and kowtows to Dictators and all she can focus on is abortion.
She keeps reposting stuff on facebook I consider racist. I nearly commented on one of her posts yesterday, then back spaced over my comments and left it alone.
I don’t consider anyone in Trumps orbit able to take over, except maybe Pence, but I really dislike him.

I tried to explain to hubs trump could do anything and because he is anti abortion he has the churchie crowd here locally. He doesn't think so, but he doesn't realize they are totally crazy over that. And trump has pandered to this group, giving them money for private schools, etc.
He still has support from this bunch. Some has flaked away but i would not be so sure he will lose yet. They just don't seem to care that he accused a commentator of murder, is corrupt, is unstable. Is ruining the military and everything he touches while kissing putins ass. Then add in voter suppression of all kinds.
I'm scared to death he will get in again, unless the dems get a senate majority he will complete putins plan of destroying the US. They won't understand that till russian troops are marching down our streets. And I think that is a real possibility too. Only when they start losing freedoms after that will they understand and hard line crackdowns, and if it suppresses people of color they will love that too.

I don’t think Putin wants to invade us, but he and China are certainly taking advantage of us having such a weak leader. China is cracking down on the protesters in Hong Kong - they’re confident our angry, whiny boy baby president is too distracted to do anything about it.

I did hear a theory on the tv tubes today that if trump loses the election he will claim widespread voter interference from China. Barr and his minions will provide ‘evidence’ that will dispute vote counts in multiple states, which will push the issue to the Supreme Court, who will push it to the House - only the House will only have one vote per state, and Trump wins.
To keep the opposition suppressed, trump declares a national emergency and shits down the internet.
Kind of sounds like the shitty thing he would try.

Jared and Jr. are unqualified lightweights. Lindsey is a possibility.. What the heck are you doing bringing in new requirements? Why would the repubs all of a sudden be concerned with qualifications? BTW, I disagree with you that Lindsey might be qualfied. He has crawled so deep into a certain hole it will take him years to clear out his eyes, ears, and brain. He might have been a possibility at one time, but that time has long since come and gone.

Hubs was telling me he heard about trump doing that too.
I'm not sure the people of the country will sit back and take that. Our democracy will finish being dismantled if he is back in.
I have watched him lately, I think something is really wrong with him. Either he is having balance problems like me or they have him drugged. His movements are weird.

putin may not want to invade us. But I think trump will invite them over to "help keep order" and basically to poke a finger in our eye. He is a vindictive bas******.
If he is in 4 more years he will tear this country apart. An evil, evil man and family.

I just do, "they" would be trumpies guests. And so far trump has done exactly what putin wants. Why would he pass up an opportunity to do something like that? I read that putin more then anything wanted American troops out of Germany and wants Nato weakened. Handed to him on a platter. Reports of Russian military plans intruding closer and closer to our air space. It's just leading in that direction. trump sounds like he is getting the whole military in disarray on top of it. He will have leaders loyal to him and many not, that could cause a fracture in the military. You can bet we have people in it that would love serving a tyrant.
I really feel we are at a juncture in our country, of strengthening it under biden or fracturing it under trump and his dynasty.
Have read to many novels that sound like the scrip for the scenarios happening to us.

According to WH insiders Trump is frantic about his election prospects. I think that’s one reason he’s trying so hard to pretend the virus is gone and the economy is rebounding, he’s petrified he’ll lose to Biden. I think he’s becoming unstrung, which is extremely dangerous for the country, because who knows what he might do.

You're picking only one moment in time, out of the whole span of the time leading up to the election. I was looking at the overall.
