All I was doing was posting something that I read by glancing it. My other stuff is simply what I consider interesting. Not everyone pays no taxes for 2 years in a row. Sure makes me happy, to have little if any taxable income. I invest zero time, energy, and money during the year concerning taxes. I have withholdings set at a level that taking the standard deduction leaves me having to write a check for a couple hundred dollars. I spend about an hour each April on TurboTax and mailing the check. It makes me happy knowing that I am paying my share for my government to do its job.

If its based on getting a refund then we won't get anything either.
Well I'm not counting on anything till I see it in the bank account.

Just spent around $1,000 on the cat so I think the choice has been made.

I'm not certain I will get anything either. My tax return numbers put me in a category of low income housing and food stamps...lol.... I did see a glimpse of something that said you won't qualify if you didn't receive a refund....don't qualify for that either. Love my CPA and Financial guy, but maybe not that much. teehee. That should have nothing to do with it.
Yeah. I haven't seen anything like that at all and it wouldn't make any sense.

We got a puppy. Original plan was to get one in July. But went ahead and got one this month. First time I spent more then an adoption fee on a dog. Normally we just go for free, but my oldest had her heart set on a certain breed. I will put my share and the rest of the money for the girls towards a family vacation. Husband will spend his 1200 on what ever.

The payment has nothing to do with refunds on your tax returns. If you had a refund, the IRS knows where to deposit the check--unless you receive SS, etc.
At the end of their lives, my parents did not have income that was high enough that they owed any taxes. They paid in plenty when they were working and then on all the interest income they earned. I don't feel the least bit bad that they didn't owe taxes while in their 90's considering they didn't start saving for retirement until my sister and I left home because it took all the money the two of them earned to support their family.

If and when I get my funds into my checking, I'll post that info. Hasn't happened yet. However, tomorrow is what Rigby calls Rocking Chair money. I always look forward to that.

At this point I'm feeling like I should save the money for a breast lift since I have barely worn a bra, other than my sports bra when I exercise.
Kind of having one of "those" days. Currently wondering if it is too early to change from my day pajamas to my night pajamas.
I only had about 2-3 hours worth of work to do today and I got kind of lazy. I didn't even take my walk. I keep telling myself that if I were working a "normal" work week that I would be longing for a lazy day in my pajamas so I need to just get a grip.
I watched the made for TV movie, or mini series, Pandemic from 2007 on Prime today. Of course, everyone that came in contact with the virus died within days and they came up with a vaccine in less than a week - LOL! Pretty silly but mildly entertaining.

Credit Union sent an email to see pending ACH deposit for stimulus check. That isn't the bank where my check will go. Called that bank and, yes, $1200 will be in my account tomorrow.

Our stimulus money is pending in our checking account. As soon as it is really there, I am transferring it to savings.

Money is there this morning. Not in bank where I have a savings account.
What to do with it?

$3900 hit our account this morning and we scheduled a transfer to savings. With so much uncertainty and one of us furloughed I’d be thrilled if it’s still sitting in savings a year from now when the economy starts to settle, but barring a miracle I can’t see that happening.
So most likely it will go to cover mortgage and bills once the UI “$600 kicker” runs out.
If it’s still there a year from now and we’re fully employed we will splurge on a trip.

Our check is in the bank. $1584 based on our retiree income of $166k. I read that baby trump forced the IRS to include his name on paper checks. He was told he could not sign them. First time ever a presidents name has been on a treasury check. They swear it won't delay the mailing of the checks.

ODS took a year and a half off from college after a nasty bout of Mono. He worked in 2018, grossing about $18K, but he was only 22 and still living at home. He got a stimulus check today. I’m confused as to why, but we’ll take it. He needs to take 2 summer courses so it’s going straight toward tuition.

I was going to put ours into our taxable account. It looks like the tenant's air conditioner took it's last breath, so it will go to buy a new air conditioning unit for them.

I just got my "check" deposited today. So check whatever account you used for taxes last year - it might be there.

A friend of mine gets her SS the same day I do (today) she said her SS and the Stimulus check was there in her account when she checked it at 6 AM.
If you're talking to me Just, I've had the same checking account since 1995. The VA uses it, and so does SS. Maybe tomorrow.

Does anyone know when the $600 UI kicker will start being paid? Does it have to go to the states UI office first, and then sent? I am assuming that would be the process?

Blonde Granny - I think that is probably coincidence and doesn't mean you won't get a stimulus check. My two coworkers I was chatting with this morning that should definitely both be getting stimulus payments have not received them yet, but I have and one of their kids did.

Glad to have it whatever the reason. This kid is pricey. Lovable, but pricey. 😆

Mine is staying in savings for now with the hope it can be used for a vacation in 2021 if I stay fully employed.

Mine hit my account today as well. I’m using it for debt retirement.
I do expect to have an angry father. 2019 was the first year I claimed him as a dependent (pre-COVID) so he won’t be getting any extra money. He’s probably already spent the $1,200 he thought he was getting, but in reality the extra $500 I got back in my taxes doesn’t even cover two months of my extra cost for having him live here. I was able to claim him (and he knows I did), because I pay all his costs associated with living here rent free. He blows his SS check mostly on wants every month and doesn’t have enough left over to pay the $50 I asked for to cover his cell phone and satellite TV.
Obviously I could have held off a year if I had known he would be missing out, but I filed my taxes in February.

[ It’s federally funded but administered by your state. My state has said it should be coming any day now - that it’s a programmatic challenge which is causing the delay not necessarily that the money is delayed from Fed.
