For anyone interested in projections about the timing and severity if this pandemic in the US, check out this projection my son just sent me. If correct, don’t think we will be going to Easter services: covid19.healthdata.org/projectionsAnd I don’t need to hear why they are wrong. Explain why you think they are wrong using data. Feelings don’t count That is sobering

I’m so confused. Half of the people on here are saying trump should stop all movement. Now you are saying that would make him like hitler. Which is it? Should trump shut the country down and force people to stay home and definitely not travel? Or do we let this spread to protect our freedoms? My problem is the term "martial law" which gives the president powers you don't want trump have. I believe enough sane individuals will follow the orders to limit outside movement that we don't need the military in the streets taking orders from such an unqualified pos. Add in the crazy civilian militias and we have a huge problem. Gun stores here are sold out of guns and ammo. I can tell you that people in my area are not taking this seriously. I have no faith in humanity

Don't worry about it, No matter what Trump does, There will be a problem! If Trump found a cure for the virus today, 3/4 of the board would be like,,, Why didn't he do this a month ago!!!
Not really.

It assumes we continue to practice strong social distancing. Even with that, over 80,000 dead by early August. If we relax, we likely get multiple peaks

They keep having to ratchet it up because SOME people ignore protocol. Anecdotal appearances are that people are starting to take it more seriously now, at least around here, but I still don't think strong enough measures are being taken. Why is an ATV/ cycle dealer open? Why are fast food restaurants open? Why are we open? (hospital and defense contracts) Why is BIW Open? (building naval destroyers, 6,000 employees)

We just went under stay at home orders for my county last night at 11pm.
For the third day in a row the office my patio looks out onto has a crew of like 5 trucks cutting down trees and reducing them to wood chips. Even today when it's essential business only. I highly doubt any of the trees left by the THIRD day are in danger of doing any damage.

My county and the county north of ours are now under stay at home orders. We just sent employees letters to carry that state we are an essential business (we really are).
But like many people said, we need to look at what is truly essential. Too many exceptions
I took the kids and our golden to the park today. It is a huge space and very easy to social distance. Two different people came up to us to pet the dog (she IS cute) but I told them to please stay away as we are supposed to be 6 feet away from others (they never got that close because I stopped them). Then we walked by the playground. Several parents were there with their kids climbing all over the equipment. WHAT.THE.FUCK.IS.WRONG.WITH.PEOPLE?
