I'm getting back into working out after a 1 week total rest and then a 1 week ease back into slowly type of week. I'm feeling much better about exercising than I was a couple weeks ago.
It was almost 100* here Friday, Saturday, and Sunday which made getting outside for anything other than sitting at the pool miserable. But I'm glad I got a couple days of relaxing by the pool in.
I've got a barre workout on tap for sometime today, and then if the rain holds off, I'll get my steps in outside. Of course, I have to figure out how to do this all around work.

I started counting calories last Saturday. I'm down 4 pounds so far and that's getting about 1500 calories a day. I find if I do yoga in the morning that my appetite or I guess what I think is my appetite but really are my emotions are so much better. I'm eating greek yogurt for breakfast and usually a big salad once a day. I'm eating a snack with some fat in the late afternoon close to 4 or 5, and then dinner around 8:30 which helps me curb late night snacking. I've made some tradeoffs like if I want cheese on my sandwich I don't use any mayonnaise. I also cut my full fat salad dressing down to just 1-2 teaspoons and I mix the lettuce well by hand to coat everything. I also cut down the amount of cheese in my salads too. I haven't given up everything though. Last night I had nachos. Just a controlled portion on top of sauteed bell peppers and onion. I've had a couple of small chocolate chip cookies a few different days too. And l have had wine a few days too.

I've totally fallen off the wagon lately. No motivation. Didn't get my steps in. Quit my burpee challenge around day 18 or so. I'm giving up on June as a lost cause. July is a new start!!!!
Goals for July:
475,000 steps, stretch goal of 500,000 Lose 2 of the 4 pounds I've gained Screw the burpees, they suck. I'll figure out a push-up goal.
That's impressive bobosensei - excellent!! Great job for the month flamingo and ners! And ners, your daily step average really went up - way to go!!

I'm glad June is about over - I'm ready for a new month. This week should be good step wise, but then next week I'm on "vacation" so who knows where my step count will be. I'm going to visit my mom, who loves to take long walks, so hopefully my step count isn't too terrible. I'm so looking forward to being somewhere OTHER than my house. I don't even care that it's just someone else's house, LOL.

Ooops, forgot about figuring out a push-up challenge. I'll work on that this week. My steps were pretty good this week, but I'll have to up them a bit to hit my July goal. Hard to do when it's SO. DANG. HOT!! Made zero progress on weight loss.
This week:
Keep up on the steps - I need to average at least 16,000/day to hit the monthly goal. Quit eating so much. I think I really need to go back to tracking my food. I keep saying that, but this time I mean it lol. Some sort of arm workouts.
It's a new month. Onward and upward!

I did well on my steps this past week. That's all I did well on. No weight loss (hmmm, wonder why, as I sit here eating a sundae ). Swore I was going to start tracking what I ate. I lied. Didn't do anything arm workout-ish either. The weather is still Hellish - hard to find motivation.
This week:
Keep up on the steps, since at least I'm motivated there Seriously woman, start tracking what I'm eating!!!!! Arms? Meh, maybe
Hope everyone else is doing better than me. And if you're not, at least you're not alone!

Weekly Check in flutterby I feel your pain. My eating was out of control. I did get in my steps but that is all I have to say about the week. Work is going to be stressful for the foreseeable future. So goals for this week is not to gain weight and get in 95000 steps. Have a great week everyone. 1/1/19 177.2 1/1/20 165.2 2/1/20 161.0 3/1/2020 163.8 4/1/2020 159 5/1/2020 157.6 06/01/2020 159.2 07/01/2020 157.2 07/06/2020 158.2 07/13/2020 159.8

Last week was not good. I struggled badly to get in a routine after coming back from vacation. I got 83,000 steps the week before that included our long weekend vacation.
Not so much this week. I was struggling on the shortest of walks. I thought it was the heat but it's been this hot for several weeks.
I finally decided the lower inhaler dose once a day is not sufficient. Trying twice a day this week. If I have to I'll go back to the higher dose. It's disappointing, I've been trying for 9 months to work down to the lower dose.

Well, as if 2020 didn't already suck enough, last week started out good, but ended terribly. Friday morning I went out for a run and just as I was about home, I tripped and fell. My right toe and ankle are angry with me, my left shoulder and hip hurt where I landed. I'm so mad at myself, I know to be extra careful on that sidewalk, and I still managed to fall and hurt myself. I'm just lucky I didn't break anything!
My ankle and toe are feeling better today, and it doesn't hurt to walk so I seem to be on the mend. But it's going to be awhile before I feel confident about running again.

This week was much better. I averaged 16,000 daily steps - had a low step day Friday because I wasn't feeling well AT ALL, but all the other days were good. FINALLY started tracking what I was eating. Mystery solved on why I gained weight. Eeeek!! I know I do much better when I'm tracking, I just don't like doing it. But I'm down 1.4 pounds, so it works for me. Completely forgot about an arm workout again. Meh, not feeling it.
This week: keep on keeping on. Keep my steps up, keep tracking my food intake, survive the heat.
ners great job on steps this week! flamingo hope you're healing. Ouch!

My ankle is slowly feeling better. But I'm still taking it easy as I'm still feeling twinges more than I'd like. I cannot wait for my spin bike to arrive next week. Even though my step count might suffer (can I convert spinning time to steps? who knows), I'm so excited for a new cardio option. I hope it's amazing and I love it!

Had a lovely mini-vacation and ate a ridiculous amount of food. On a pretend de-tox for this week. I'll be under 100 carbs for each day and under 1300 calories. 70 oz of water per day is the goal; I'm good at getting to 64 oz, so this is a little stretch goal. Exercise is going slightly well. The blood clot is no longer consistently painful, but my left leg will become tired and my left foot will go numb with too much walking.

How's the healing of the ankle going? It's getting better, thanks for asking! I managed a run both saturday and sunday with very minimal swelling and zero pain. I mean, I'm super slow, don't run up hills, and walk every time I have to turn, but I'm definitely on the mend. I'm sorry to hear about your blood clot! That's so scary, but I'm happy to hear you are on the mend.

Hi. I just found this tread. I was WIRR back many years ago and just found it again. I just downloaded the strides app and would like to join some challenges starting in August. I've set a goal of a minimum 10,000 steps per day. I need to lose about 10-15 lbs. ideally before the holidays so I can hopefully maintain through November-January. I'll get my official weight tomorrow morning since I've already had breakfast and numerous snacks (doh).

I forgot to update this week. Not much to report - I'm doing well on steps and should hit my stretch goal for July. I've been tracking my food intake, averaging 1300-1400 calories a day. Haven't lost an ounce this past week, so that's a bit disheartening, but I'll stick with it.
This week's goals will be pretty lame because we're in the middle of year end close at work:
Continue steps Continue tracking food Start drinking 2 big glasses of water a day - I drink a TON of coffee, but I need to get some plain old water in, too.
That's going to have to be good enough for now.

A couple days later and I finally worked up the courage to get on the scale. 7/30/20 - 154.3 I definitely need to lose a minimum of 14 lbs but it's sooooo hard as we get older. I just joined Ners challenge for August, thank you for including me. I look forward to supporting each of you. I'm headed out for a walk now and have to just figure out how to drink water. Baby steps.
