bobosensei, this WFH during a pandemic thing is HARD. Plus, our weather has been shitty this spring, so getting outside is tough. I hope meditation helps you some! Because our weather has been so bad the last month, I've upped my inside workouts. I have zero exercise equipment so I'm doing things like Pilates and Barre videos. at most they are 30 minute videos and on days I can't get outside, they definitely help my mental outlook. But it's still a struggle to not sit like a bump on a log literally all day.

ners, I hope you're feeling well and your recovery is on track.
flutterby, is the cream application getting any better? I'm so sorry about the skin cancer.
bobosensei, hugs. How are you doing now?
andi9899, I've signed up for the SWEAT program. You might consider it.
tcu2003, I really like the calendar you posted.
flamingo, have you kept doing barre? I keep thinking I want to try that, but I've not. Someone else on here was doing that, but I can't remember who at the moment.

My update: I'm still going to work every day, but I'm really only there from 8:30am till some point after 3:00. Sometimes I go home at 3:00; sometimes I go home at 5:30. Due to the reduced hours, I've definitely made it a point to exercise almost daily. I signed up for Kayla Istines' SWEAT program. It's worked well for me. We also ordered a rowing machine and an elliptical. I know it's a luxury to be able to afford that equipment both in purchase and in space. We won't be going back to the gym. My husband is insistent about this choice, and I'm not inclined to argue.
Eating wise, I've been doing okay. In January, my goal had been to be at 130 pounds max by the end of March. I dipped below 130 a few times, but I'm consistently in the 131 - 134 range. There are two reasons for this: my husband as asked that I not lose more weight/get "skinnier", so I stopped trying to lose weight and just focused on maintaining that weight range. Second, my beautiful child is home from college since they closed the campus. SHE KEEPS BAKING. So, at the moment, my goal is to not go above 134 plus tone everything up.
Unfortunately, at the beginning of May, I ended up with a blood clot in my left leg. that was a long week determining the cause of the pain. I'd thought it was a pulled calf muscle for several days before the swelling started. When my left leg swelled from the top of the knee down to the ankle, I decided it wasn't just a pulled muscle. The pain has subsided, but the swelling is still a bit there.

Knee Deep in Water Chloe Ouch on the blood clot. I hope your recovery goes quickly and you do not have any more issues. My recovery is going well. I have been overeating and unable to get in as many steps as I would like. But that is part of life. Easing back to work by working 1/2 days for a week.

This last week was okay, not great. My only goals were to start losing some of the few pounds I've gained. No progress there
And average 15,000 steps a day. Only averaged just over 14,000/day
On the plus side, my skin is all healed, so I'm past that at least. I think it might have even burned off a few of the smaller lines around my eyes and mouth.
This week, I'm trying something different. It's getting too warm to take a walk at lunch, and the trails are SO crowded in the evenings. So I'll aim to get a walk in very early in the mornings so I can get cleaned up and be at my computer by 7am. We'll see how that goes.
This week's goals: same as last week Average 15,000 steps/day Start working these pounds off
Hope everyone is doing okay, or as okay as anyone can in this crazy time!
Knee Deep in Water Chloe, scary on the blood clot. I had a DVT when my youngest was 4 weeks old. I was stuck in bed, in the hospital, for two weeks. With an infant. What a nightmare! I'm glad you're okay!!

I've had a Barre3 streaming subscription ($29/month) for almost two years now. I love it. I feel great afterward, mentally and pysically. More importantly, I hope you are doing okay right now. Blood clots are so scary! I'm glad you were able to figure it out and get treatment.

Knee Deep in Water Chloe, I am doing Barre a couple times a month (mixed in with other core and pilates workouts, along with the cardio I do). I still like it. It's fast paced, which I really like and it works a lot muscles/groups of muscles which is nice. I hope you are feeling better. Blood clots are scary!

Hi to everyone, “Thanks” to pandemic I’m able to check into message boards consistently now. Oh, and gained several pounds since wfh for last 2 months. I can relate to many of the feelings some of you have expressed with diet, exercise and mood! I was hoping I could chime in to this thread as well for some accountability. I have been pulling up fitness blender workouts and trying to develop the habit of a quick but daily routine of push-ups, dips, ab work, etc. Nothing that takes long. In addition I can use the stairs in this apartment building- if I could at least do that consistently my legs would be toned, I’ve got plenty of time for that.

I'm feeling a little better now. I did a BarreBlend class on the Beachbody on Demand app this morning. I do better with classes, but the YMCA is too much for me while I'm unemployed and they are restricting class participation now too. I don't want to have to sign up for a class beforehand so I think this will work. I am so terribly out of shape. Got up to 205-210 while working at home. Hoping to eventually get back to 160, but I'll be happy just getting under 200 before I have to interview anywhere in person. I'll have to get a new suit though.
So far I enjoy the Beachbody on Demand app. I have a free week, and intend to sign up for the year for 99 dollars. I was sweating and had to take breaks during the workout. Tomorrow I'll add going on a walk after the workout.

I managed to cut my alcohol consumption some too. This is always the best way for me to lose weight, but I'm still doing 1 glass of wine a day.

I found an actual adult ballet class online for free. The only Barre workout class I tried I thought was horrible, because it was too much flexing over and over without stretching in between. I'm more used to actual ballet, so that did not work for me at all. Although this ballet class on YouTube was beginner level, it didn't really explain technique much, which was fine with me because I already know it. My legs and butt are definitely feeling it! There's nothing like a ballet class to work your legs.

I loved taking Body Pump and barre classes at my gym. Using online classes and some walks but I’m not getting the exercise I used to. Mad at myself, I don’t want to gain weight again. I hate how much time it takes from me because then I’m thinking about it all the time, Such a waste. Intermittent fasting has not been daily but at least tiis past week I followed 18-6 on 3/5 3/7 days. Bumping the consistency up this week.

I'm so glad I bought my stationary bike this winter. I bought it to fill in for when I couldn't go walking. I use to mall walk early in the morning before work, and now they're closed. I am so much less active WFH. The bike saves me on rainy days.

Well the early morning walks were a fail - I only managed it two weekdays. I realized that even though I wake up really early, I don't want to actually DO anything active really early. And it stressed me out trying to get everything done before I needed to start working. I did still manage to average about 15,300 steps a day. Didn't lose an ounce this week.
This week, same goals: Average 15,000 steps and try to get my weight moving in the right direction. Hope everyone had a more successful week than I did!

Did okay with last week's goals. I averaged 15,825 daily steps. Still not losing any weight, which is frustrating because I'm really watching what I eat. And more frustrating that just a few short years ago I never had to watch what I ate. Grrrr getting old sucks sometimes.
I'm in this heinous burpee challenge with my bff. Started with one on the first day, two on the second, etc. I'm on day nine. Is there a worse exercise than burpees??! So this week I'll continue that and my 15,000 daily steps.
Great job in the May challenge ners and flamingo!!

Burpees are pure evil. I am definitely not in shape. I took this online boxing intervals class thinking it would be fun or something stupid like that. I wanted to die after what was apparently the warm up portion. I did not quit but when she got to burpee I was like nope. I took a breather for that move.
Last week I was determined to beat the one friend I'm linked to on Fitbit. I lost by 1000. I will not lose this week.
I did a barre class and a big walk yesterday. Today I did two big walks. I also found a few options I want to try out this week.

I'm enjoying being able to be outside more consistently now that summer is here. I'm trying to keep up on my at home workouts - barre, core, pilates, etc. It's a little harder to convince myself to do those instead of going outside to walk, but they are so good for me.
I did something to my hip on Monday, and it's still sore today. Last night it hurt to even lay in bed. Ugh. It's better this morning, so hopefully it's nothing serious.

BAH! My husband weighed himself for the first time in years and he's a hair under 150 lb (he's 6'). I've been stuck at 156 since January. Boo! Screw him! Lol

My goal is 10k steps a day. I have been a walker for years. Now I'm finding that to hit 10k, I have to go out 3 times. I don't know if it's the WFH thing, the heat, or I'm just old. I don't like it though! I always went for 2 walks a day, and had no problem reaching 10k. My clothes feel a little snug too. I think I gained about 3 lbs since being home. I'm scared of what retirement will do to me!

I had a pretty good week - not making any huge progress, but I'm not going downhill either. Weight is holding steady, which isn't great, but again, at least it's not going up. I averaged 15,650 steps a day and kept up with the awful burpees. I think I got off count one day, so tomorrow will be day 15. flamingo, hope your hip is better.
This week will be more of the same - average 15,000 steps a day and keep doing the heinous, hideous, stupid burpee challenge.
Hope you all are doing okay, mentally and physically, and finding some small joys and happiness even in these unsettling times

I over did it on the elliptical and exacerbated the blood clot calf. Got yelled at by my PCP. I had to take two weeks off of exercise. Started again today. Weight went up a bit, but I'm still barely under 135.

My hip issue from last week seems to have resolved itself. I don't know what I did, but I'm going to try to avoid overdoing things! Thanks for checking on me flutterby! I had a good week last week excersie and step wise. But I'm tired. I work with a running coach, and I texted him this weekend that I was just done. I need a break. I've been pushing extra hard since WFH began, and mentally, I just can't do it. Working out is becoming a chore. So he pulled all my workouts off my calendar for this coming week and told me to take the week off, get some sleep, enjoy lounging by the pool. Alright! I can do that! I'm still walking (though not with any goal in mind, other than to get some fresh air) and I might add in a core or pilates workout this week. But otherwise, I'm SO HAPPY to not have any goals for the week. It's very clear to me now that I have the break just how badly I need one.
