I just grabbed a slice of cold pizza leftover from last night ($15, including COVID-quality tip). I had another slice for breakfast, and then split a chicken Caesar wrap to two sittings. M and I had half a wrap when we stopped for a breath around 1, and then had the other half around 4 when we called it a day. ($31 for the two wraps, my dad's cheesesteak, and a bag of chips for all of us). the next few days are kind of all over the map. I think I'm camping out here tomorrow night while I finish up. planning to be totally out Tuesday night after putting out trash and recycling for the last time. I'm not moving food til probably Monday so I can make room at the new place, but the rest of my time here is more than likely going to be takeout.

I cut chicken breasts in tender size then fried them with lemon pepper. Mashed potatoes and dressing. Not really hot weather food but it sure was good. I have 3 more breasts that weren't thawing in the same time frame. They will be cooked on the bbq if it's not too hot outside. 100 degrees dampens everything.

I am looking forward to Chinese takeout when I get back tonight. I need to run some supplies for the pups over to the mooch, and I'll hit my favorite place that's over near where he lives now, while I'm out. pork fried rice with all of the bean sprouts, and maybe chicken teriyaki.
ETA: no teriyaki, just a large PFR. that will be easier to work with for leftovers with limited paper/plasticware. $8.50, and I wasn't given the opportunity to tip on my card. sorry, Golden Sails! I'll tip big when I come back down when things open up later this year.

Tonight will be gnocchi. Tomorrow will probably be Chinese takeout. We haven't had that in a while.

Meatball subs with salad. First tray of meatballs is in oven. DH makes them. He enjoys it and most of the premade frozen ones have soy protein in them these days.
Alice springs chicken quesadillas for lunch by DH request.

It will be a stuffed yellow pepper from our super nice grocery store.
I have a few more things in the freezer, but most of it requires some work on my part.....not too sure what I'll do with those things.

I bought a mix for the cheese biscuits one of our BBQ places makes. Since you have to add butter, cheddar cheese, egg, and milk, most of the ingredients are pretty fresh. They are supposed to make mini-muffins, but I had given that to my DIL since she wanted one. I had to use a regular cupcake pan and adjust the time. These are to die for! I don't see how it was supposed to make a dozen mini-muffins because it made 10 regular-size one. I'll have to put some of these in the freezer because I don't dare leave them to tempt me on the kitchen counter.

I pulled out a package of turkey thighs from the freezer this morning, just trying to figure out what to do with them. I’m thinking turkey and noodles sound good, I’ve got some of my good stock in the freezer that would make a wonderful gravy for it.
I may have to make butter chicken again. I made it a few weeks ago and really liked it. It was a new recipe for me, definitely a keeper. The sauce is fabulous.

It was fried cubed steaks, mashed taters from the freezer, pepper gravy, beans for DH & asparagus for me. I got chocolate chip cookies for desert & DH got the last of the pecan Danish.
I have a batch of chocolate chip batter mixed in the fridge...I'll bake them tomorrow.

I AM SO SICK OF MAKING DINNER.
Or even deciding what we should do for dinner.
I've decided I am just going to go into the freezer every morning, grab the first pack of meat I see. And whatever the first thing is that i can think to do with it - that is dinner.
Tonight, chicken something vaguely Asian-ish. I will see if i have any bottled sauce and go from there.

I have no idea what I'm doing tonight, still sharing kitchen space with 2 others for the time being. I might steal some shredded chicken breast from the pups' stash and toss it with some pasta and a roasted broccoli crown. that's easy enough, and I can make enough for leftovers. I just want something warm today, since it's raining and cold out.

It will be pizza or wings from a local bbq joint.
I agree I'm tired of deciding what we are having for lunch and dinner every single day.

It's 104 degrees outside. We will be having chipotle bean pattie covered with canned chili, cheese lettuce. Bean pattie and chili microwaved.

Well, that didn't last long. With the possibility of meat shortages, we are trying to keep the meat that is in the freezer, just to make sure we have something. Back to the nightly frustration of everyone saying "I don't know" and it all falling on me. Last night I was going to buy a meatloaf family dinner from an expensive restaurant near us. My family likes meatloaf, and theirs is way, way better than mine. And everyone balked. They just weren't "in the mood" for meatloaf. Well, I'm not in the mood for your bullshit indecision, but here we are.

Lunch today will be homemade sausage & bean soup. Dinner: the last mini-meat loaf made last fall. Will also have small salad or baked potato with sour cream. Maybe I need another trip to the store for another pound or two of ground beef. I like those mini-meat loaves, they freeze well and are tasty. Now that I think about it, a couple packages of frozen veggies should come home with me.

Probably won't even bother with dinner tonight because DD promised me an outing to Bruster's for ice cream this afternoon. After that I won't be hungry. Just in case, though, there's still a generous slice of pizza in the fridge.
Before we go grocery shopping, we decide on stuff for supper during the week and get the ingredients. The week comes and goes, but we don't much stick to the plan, so have still have stuff to eat for the next week. She hates to cook, and I'm learning to hate it, too. Geez. I've been cooking since I was eight. That's a lotta years of cooking.
Left up to me I'd just eat cereal and fruit or pasta with pesto.

tonight I'll have the leftovers of last night's pasta w/chicken and broccoli. the fridge is still hella crowded. I'm craving vegetables, badly. tomorrow might have to be a takeout salad from the pizza place downtown.

ooh.....I just got an email from 110 Grill, to say they are opening for takeout as of next week, with some locations opening back up a week later. GRG a/k/a goldenrulegirl - did you see that? might take the edge off so much cooking. W and M are on the 5/5 list. there may need to be some chicken pesto pasta in my future next week.

I'm getting takeout tonight. A mom and pop restaurant will good Mexican food was closed a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to see if they are open tonight. If not, I'll likely get Chinese from my fave small restaurant. There is another one that is a tiny restaurant but have outstanding food that I want to support. I don't want to drive to Bonner to do it though. It's so far!
ETA: I went to see if they were still open because it's been kind of iffy for them for a while. They're open and they still have a signature dish I love! T1 and I are getting takeout from them. I'm fat girl happy!

I see a yummy Mother’s Day takeout dinner in my future. 😁. Chicken piccata, short ribs, steak tips, so much to choose from!!!

The Thai place finally opened for limited menu take out and my favorite Panang was on the menu... I ate way too much. gug. It really didn't feel like way too much but I am not feeling well. It could very well be that after not having coconut for a long while (which i have known to be a mild trigger in the past) that I am having an increased reaction to it. I'm trying to ignore it. But it is very possible ...
