I have a lead on a guy who repairs trucks like mine so I asked him to contact me.
I’m very lucky that I don’t need to go anywhere in town this week - I visit the chiropractor on Friday but can walk there. I have enough groceries and paint for the first floor. I unpacked ALL my clothes so I could go 2 weeks or more before doing laundry and I have 2 bins of dog food.
Today my lawn mower arrived so I’ll need to put that together and get into a routine of mowing every week so it doesn’t get too bad.
Tomorrow I need to send in my receipts for scanning and clean off my desk in the office. I’m pretty close to having all the fabric boxes unpacked too so I can organize what I have and start a plan for using all this fabric. I have enough outdoor fabric for a TON of pillows so I may make the covers and swap them out now and then.

Missed the Vietnam Vets pickup yesterday. We were having a tropical storm in the morning so I didn't think they'd come. Rescheduled for next Tuesday: 5 boxes and bags of clothing, books and miscellany ready to go along with an ugly end table that will appeal to someone.

Who was it who had the tea drinking challenge? I may need to do the same, I have so so many bags to finish! I’m still unpacking boxes for the kitchen so as I go through the shelves I am tidying them up. The closet is still somewhat of a disaster but every day gets a little better. That was debthaven, but I've not made it to the next page yet and she may have already responded.
Knee Deep in Water Chloe , I use something very similar in the house for spices, extracts, smoke rubs and the like. Very handy! I also use the same type of shelf liner, LOL. Deck project check in: The outdoor rug (a pretty, blue ombre) arrived yesterday and the water fountain arrived this morning. Cannot wait to see them in place! The reclaimed, 100+ year old barnwood bench is coming from Amish country, so I'm not sure if they keep them in stock, or what the ETA is. Last night I manically (poor DH!) did dishes and spruced up the house in anticipation for the potential house cleaner to inspect this afternoon. I have one for inside our house and a cool tri-level spice drawer. Isn't it funny how excited someone can get over an organizational tool? Also, isn't it funny how we clean for the housecleaner? A friend of mine completely makes fun of me for that.
Hi all - my computer did a huge update this weekend, and then Monday morning my work email didn't work. After trying the few things I know (turn it off, turn it on again) I had to reach out next door to my nephew, who works as an IT manager. He fixed it. Hurrah! Thank goodness for IT people, especially while we are so dependent on computers for communication. Iggy - I'll try to remember that for NYE! MoneySquirrel - thank you for the communication! I have more questions, but will get back to you. The O - hope Lucy is better soon! Snapdragon - you are really keeping at it, and that's one of the hardest tasks in life, dealing with family loss and what's left behind. Startsmart - I can't believe your truck went down! I hope you can find a trustworthy mechanic nearby. Nikiz - congrats on the new venture. Debt - Ow! Ow! Ow! Double break - no wonder it's so painful. Hope it continues to improve. I have been trying to declutter my back bedroom so I can move my office stuff back there (away from husband's TV, which is on all the time! Makes me so sick of commentary pro and con about Trump). I don't mean to get political here, I'm just saying I'm tired of listening to all of it while I'm trying to work. Time for earphones again. Also, back bedroom has a window A/C. Well - back to work. Stay well, everybody! I've also been avoiding the live news stations. After about a year and some pointed comments, my husband finally got it. He's substantially reduced how long he has it on in the afternoon. I just cannot take the negativity all the time--regardless of which bias is on tv.

Yesterday was all about driving, attending, and going to doctors appointments--along with a college class snuck in there. Back to a regular schedule today.

The soft sided cat carrier is in the trash. Lucy peed in it on the way home. I can't feel it but I can smell it and she licked herself clean everywhere after we got home.
I don't smell it in my car.
Not the reason I wanted to get rid of something. I wish yesterday had not been trash day as it now sits in the garage until next week.

Paint is going up in my bedroom after getting more of the primer done this morning. The entryway is still unfinished but I made good progress yesterday.
I did get the last box of kitchen stuff unpacked and now I’m just organizing and cleaning yo the shelves and drawers. I cannot wait to take the dishwasher out so I can add some deep drawers for storage.

I'm feeling pretty jealous of Smartstart. So much painting! The old house. The new house.
You just randomly paint stuff that needs it! I have so many places in my house that need painting. That have been painted, That need touch up. I suck at painting. i start with a lot of enthusiasm and practically no skill and within an hour have a beer in hand and am painting with a great deal of enthusiasm and not a great deal of talent. Please don't ever look at the spare room that I painted with the kids...they aren't responsible for the shoddy job.
I have a painter coming on Tuesday to give me an estimate on the trim and other outdoor painting I need done. Local guy with a lot of good reviews. Please don't judge, if he's willing to climb that high I'll go with him without getting a bunch of bids. I should have done this three years ago.
Friday the oil tank gets replaced. Can't wait! We've been living with the smell of leaking oil fuel for weeks. Or at least I have, I'm really sensitive to odors and DH doesn't even notice it! It's a job that needs doing.
Still checking out what I'll end up with for hardwood floors. I know what I want, not sure that the $ will work. We did get the equity loan to cover all of this. Just need to get all the players on board. DH to sign off on the money, Friend One to supply the skill and Friend Two to help with the labor. I'm crossing fingers that I get what I want. I usually do. Sorry for being that person?
Meanwhile I'm still tossing stuff and organizing and trying to figure out what my house looks like with just DH and I.
I have not taken the time to research the mask thing during the 1918 pandemic. Real life keeps taking up all my time. But I really want to know how long that went on and when they decided it was safe to go back to life as usual...

I am on PTO the rest of the week, mostly. Today I worked about 1 1/2 hours. There are a couple of projects with deadlines and I don't mind too much logging on, when I want, and keeping them moving. This morning I rested some and then got the applesauce jars washed and put away, the kitchen cleaned and ran the dishwasher. This afternoon I used some cleaner on the front deck. It didn't work that great. I might have had better success on a cooler day and if I had a stiffer brush, maybe a broom. It is as good as its going to get this year. I refuse to get down on my hands and knees with bleach water and scrub it properly. After the deck fiasco I finished scrubbing the last little bit of gutter on the house. It is a section about 12 feet long on the side of the house. I put up the last two sections of gutter guard up there but need two more sections and all the gutters on the house will be cleaned, scrubbed, and have new gutter guard. Mostly I was too lazy to go to home depot today.

Malarkey- is it makes you feel better I will definitely be hiring plenty of jobs out, probably painting the exterior above the first floor since I hate heights. The benefit of painting now is that I don’t have much stuff unpacked or moved in so it’s a lot easier to maneuver. I don’t have much furniture to move and can fill up my bucket with washing solution in a few minutes.
The bedroom is about 50% primer and once I get the paint up on the north side of the room I can shift the furniture and do the south side.
I have my landscaper walk thru on Friday and I’m very excited to see what we come up with for a plan. I’ve resisted buying anything green for the yard until this plan is established but do need to assemble my new lawnmower.

Quick hello friends. We are away for a couple of weeks but I’ve been reading and you’re making such great progress! Yes it was me decluttering the tea. We still have about 5 kinds but I still keep ddil’s and ds2’s gf’s favorites even if they don’t get used very often. Nikiz bummer about the pool Startsmart amazing progress!!! TheO hoping Lucy is feeling better. I read Here but I’m generally trying to take a break from internet. I’m back on my diet and we’ve been walking a lot and spending time with our friends (who we’re renting from). It always does me good to see to sea. 😊

My truck has a coolant leak so I have an appointment Tuesday to find out where the issue lies and get it fixed! Until then I’m sticking close to home and maybe, just maybe, I’ll finish painting my bedroom by the time it’s done.
I also, accidentally, start to demo the floor in the laundry room because it is just that bad. There’s another plastic floor underneath and the wood subfloor by the back door seems rotten. I know the back door leaks so that will need to be fixed and then I’ll focus on replacing the subfloor and leveling it out. I know I wanted to do ceramic tile anyway but may live with the subfloor awhile until that’s feasible.
Today I meet the landscaper for a video walk thru and I’m very excited to get this project rolling! I would love to get bulbs in this fall and start planning the raised garden beds so I can start seeds indoors this winter.

Met with the potential house/office cleaner yesterday nearly an hour late. Problems with Interstate traffic I understand, but when she finally rolled up, she was on the phone, and stayed out there for at least another 5-10 minutes. When she came in she wasn't dressed very professionally, seemed very frazzled, and indicated she was sweaty. Considering her voice mail to me Tuesday, and her behavior yesterday, I concluded this is how she will always be. I don't do drama, and don't have time to wait around for someone. She sent me a bid last night, which I filed, and I already put a shout out on social media asking for recommendations. I received two, which I'll follow up on. Other than that, hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Thanks Iggy aka IG I have a call in to the vet. Lucy does seem a bit better today. She is up and about and not sleeping the entire day Nephew said he met the moving company at Customs and came home. Truck arrived a bit later but didn't come in the building. After an hour, his wife went down to the truck and the guy said he didn't have time to unload their furniture today. They were not happy and called the company. Now they are to get their furniture delivered on Monday. Another refund check is coming to me for deposit

Yesterday was a rainy day so I did quite a bit of sewing. DD had asked me to make a pillow case for DGS that had trucks, or tractors or something like that. Of course this Grandma just happens to have a plastic tote of fabric labeled John Deere. Since I was making a pillow case for DGS I felt I should make one DGD also. That made a very minuscule, not even noticeable dent in the fabric stash. Today I got the front deck railing sanded and primered. I also made it Home Depot and got the two pieces of gutter guard I needed, they are now installed, and I mowed the lawn. Since I haven't been very diligent about watering the lawn wasn't very bad but it's mowed.

Another busy day today. The front deck railings have the first coat of paint. They are in pretty bad shape but this should buy me a couple of years before I need to do something about them. I told my Mom I was putting lipstick on a pig. The deck doesn't actually need railings because it is only about 6-8" off the ground with the raised flower bed but it really adds a lot to the deck. In a few years I think I will remove all of the deck that is out in the open and just leave the part that is under the over hang. It will be less maintenance and no more railings to worry about needing to be painted. I also got the rest of the white lilac cut back. It is now just a stump. Next up figuring out how to get that stump out. I did leave long enough branches from the ground to grab hold of if need be to help rock the stump back and forth.

I realized last Thursday that I have use it or lose it vacation time which I would be unlikely to be able to take if I didn't use it right now. So I'm off for the next week. Hoping to get a lot done. Decluttering, painting DD's old room. She's a bit upset that I'm going to paint over her murals but it's time to move on. DH decided to keep his office in the basement-he would have used that room and kept the murals. I need to get the painting done before any floor work will happen. The oil tank got replaced on Friday. Good news/bad news. It has to be inspected by the fire department and if they think too much oil leaked onto the floor-they call in the EPA and I'd have to raise the house 5" and drill out the floor. Which would involve removing the new oil tank. THAT would be what makes me throw in the towel and move! I love this house but at that point it wouldn't be worth it. I can just see all the horsehair plaster walls cracking. DH has cleaned up as much oil as possible and is sealing and painting the floor. I tried to talk him out of it because it looks like we're covering it up, which we are, but I don't think it was bad enough to trigger the EPA. Either way it could turn out badly for us. And of course the floors are more complicated than I thought. Underneath the current planks are similar planks that run in the opposite direction. Underneath the walls. Into other rooms. So removing them and installing a level subfloor room by room isn't going to work without serious structural engineering which I am not doing. Luckily we have a friend who used to be a contractor who has a workaround...it will just take much longer. For now I'm just going to focus on what I can control. Patching and painting. Trips to Savers to unload unwanted items. I may even make it to the gym or mop the kitchen floor in the coming week.

Good morning all. Hoping that all of you are doing well and staying safe.
I usually venture out once a week if I have to run errands and then I try to do all of them on the same day. Other that that I do get to the church where all are practicing social distancing and mask are required. Pews are roped off so only half of the seating is available and then the policy is one family on each end and maybe one person in the middle. Hand sanitizer is at all entrances and we are reminded to use it. All major chores are up to date and the majority of areas are semi-organized. I added several additional items to the donation box this week and plan to continue the practice. I have been trying to wear those items that I think are iffy. If they are feeling too uncomfortable then I will add them to the box after they are washed and then are not returned to the closet. It is a slow process but it is better than nothing. Since I am not going out a lot I have to force myself to pull out an item that is not on the top of the stuff I have recently worn.
This past week I accomplished several things: *Laundry -- up to date *Ordered new Chromebook and a few other items (my laptop is on the way out and is experiencing some issues and the Chromebook was reduced in price)s *Completed several medical tests *Hair trimmed *Bank trip *Finished several beading projects and got one large flowerpot painted *Organized several areas and did the routine chores around the house *Outdoor plants were watered several times
This week: *Cleaning Ladies -- Monday *Amazon Delivery -- Monday and Thursday *Zoom Meetings -- Friday and Saturday *Grocery -- either Tuesday or Wednesday (probably will be WM as my list is continuing to grow) *Routine housework *Etsy Items published -- Even days *Etsy Items descriptions -- written and/or uploaded -- Odd days *Crafts -- Daily

TheOtherMe, sorry about your sick fur baby. Not much decluttering happening here. I bought a card table and some chairs as a stand-in dining room table. They boyfriend was tired of sitting on the floor to eat dinner and I couldn't disagree. It's only "sweet" the first couple of times then it becomes a PitA 'cause getting up off the floor is chore to my out-of-shape butt. Got the gross carpet pulled up last week. Couldn't put the new flooring in because the flooring guy suggested I treat the concrete with an odor neutralizer--decades of a dog (or two) using that carpet as a pee pad left its mark, literally. So, I went to Lowe's and spent $50 on two gallon jugs of the stuff and coated it with all the liquid in the jugs. Needless to say, my house stunk all the next day. I also then had to contend with Shivers pooping inside the house rather than in their domain. Last night, she pooped on my bedspread. Poor thing slept too long and didn't heed the cues from her body soon enough. Luckily, the house washer and dryer are oodles larger than the apartment's washer and dryer and I was able to wash and dry it last night. Today, I've been working on my website some more. I added some more filters to the Search function. It's slow-going, what with 500+ stores to review for whether the filters apply and to update any missing social media links and email addresses. I'd love feedback (via PM so as to not clog up this board) if you'd like to give any. Bra Shop Directory Brand and Sizing filters will come much later. They're big elephants to tackle.

While I am still happy with my decision to move into this house I am having one of THOSE days.
The door to the laundry doesn’t shut smoothly so while I had a client call one of my dogs peed out there. Again. And it’s where I bring in boxes to empty so now one of the boxes is “marked.”
I moved everything out of the laundry room and just ripped out the linoleum in sheets. It’s so disgusting.
So for now the dogs are in their crates, the old floor is all over the back yard and I have to figure out how to clean the laundry room enough so I can use it for storage and keep the dogs out.
I haven’t finished cleaning the walls so I can continue the paint and I’m in desperate need of some storage around here.
While I don’t regret moving today has just been a day from hell and I would like to order a full body massage and a freakin’ haircut and a working truck and some shelves thankyouverymuch.

Today I got the second coat of paint on the front deck railings. One more project off the list. I also finished washing the rest of the windows on the outside. Then I made some chocolate chip cookies. I needed them.
