Ending 2020 with a whimper here. My DH did more decluttering and helped my kids organize their stuff. We all need to work on just getting the stuff out of the house. This year really wasn't that bad for us overall, just a big adjustment. Being home all the time is really nice in a lot of ways, but it does strain the weak organizational and decluttering muscles we possess. 4 people constantly contributing to the chaos--I wish we had better systems in place going into this. I guess under these circumstances, we should call it a win by simply maintaining some semblance of order.

Posting from my new laptop!! It has a battery life of longer than 10 minutes and doesn't crash unexpectedly in the middle of a sentence.
Like everyone else on the planet I am covid weary. But overall it hasn't been a bad year for us. Despite being in lockdown for 10 weeks or so, I was able to go back to work and luckily we haven't had any more full stop shut downs. Although it's been interesting shuffling staff around so everyone can work and maintain distance. Luckily we have a massive kitchen and people willing to work staggered hours to make it happen. And I have a core group of people I can socially distance with (love my neighborhood) to keep me from completely losing my mind.
I did manage to declutter lots of things from the house. And got a huge decluttering boost when the girls moved out.
Progress has been made in terms of renovations. Two ceilings done, two rooms painted.
Future goals will be posted in the 2021 thread.
Happy New Year.

Lots of progress being made here! Not by me though lol ... I am being extremely lazy this week, sleeping, reading and spending time with DS3 until he goes back on Sunday. I go back to work next week but I'm on a reduced schedule until 18 January. I will "undecorate" the tree this weekend. DH likes to wait until 6 January but I want to do it with DS3 while he's still here. Caught up on kitchen and laundry. I'm doing a LOT of hours this semester, but it's a looooong semester, so it shouldn't be overwhelming. I won't have any breaks because again, Jobs 1 and 2 don't have the same weeks off. So I'm just enjoying this long break.

We have wanted an extendable dining room table forever, but didn't think we could get ours downstairs to the basement to wait for a child to want it. (I'm attached to it, but it's too small for us now). Long story short DH and DS3 wrangled it to the basement, so we just ordered a new round extendable dining room table! We NEVER buy new furniture, so it's exciting! This is what we ordered: woodesign.ie/product/lange-jan-sydney-extendable-round-dining-tableWe'll eventually replace the chairs too, but no rush.

I don’t think I really set a 2020 declutter goal other than moving (check). I’m happy to be settled here in Kansas and I am thinking what would be good to shoot for in 2021.

debthaven -- Gat as much rest as you can. Glad you got some time with family. I manage to get the bulk of the items listed in an earlier post done. Got the spreadsheet set up for 2021, backed up the laptop, update my inventory and currently working on laundry. One load finished, one in dryer and one in the washer. Almost time for those two to be ready to switch. Once that is done I will have a later than usual lunch. Wishing all a peaceful New Year's Eve. Someone was shooting off fireworks last night. Expecting rain tonight so I hope it will be quiet but who knows. Currently it is coming down quite heavy.

Yesterday, during my bimonthly cleaning of the desk area in my kitchen, I tossed eight random things that I just keep holding on to because I might need them. They’ve sat there for at least a year, but nOw they’re in the trash. Why is that soooo hard?!?!?
