and.....I'm cut off from the university library ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/sad.png) . I assembled what literature I could without making myself too miserable on this last night - on and off as my computer has been getting hot quickly so I'm worried about that. Likely need a new one.. Just realized one key search I forgot that I need immediately, lol, to finish off the most forward paper. I hardly know what to do with myself. I did have a crisis of faith as I worked till about 9 p.m. When I started down the path of going back to school, I was jeune encore! Well - about mid-40's. But I sure felt a lot younger even though at the time i though I was old! Took me 2 years or more to do everything to get into the program, the degree took longer than expected, and my best intentions of getting some research out the door while in the program - which I was super committed to doing! - just didn't happen. Hence, many projects now I'm trying to clean up, upgrade and update, and get out. But being so old now - with nothing to really show for all this research-on-the-side that I've sunk so much time into - I'm feeling a bit hopeless about it all. I know I need to continue, for any job searching I do in the future, it is necessary. Wish I had a weekend to look forward to, but have all day meeting Friday, Saturday, half of Sunday - hopefully ending at noon, but this group will keep going.....they've worked till midnight before. 10 days.....looking forward to next weekend....

Just keep taking deep breaths and try not to think of the collective amount of work that needs to be done. Just keep chipping away at it, and don't waste time thinking about how crappy it will be until next weekend. You can do this!

Looks like Mom duties will be ramping up again, the doctors office called her today and scheduled her for her second hip replacement next Tuesday. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/yikes.png) Right now our county is still in phase I of reopening so no hospital visitors. What the hospital told Mom is that one person would be allowed to accompany her up and stay with her before the surgery. Then they could stay until surgery was completed, talk to the surgeon etc, and once she was taken to her room must leave, no visiting allowed. Earlier that morning I had scheduled for central AC to be installed in my home next Tuesday, ended up calling them back and pushing it out a week.

I don't know if it makes a difference but in one of the towns just a bit north of Indy, they told my cousin the same thing and what they meant was one person, total, and not one person at a time. For her, that meant she and her sisters couldn't tag team to visit their 86 yr old dad who had a stroke.

For her, that meant she and her sisters couldn't tag team to visit their 86 yr old dad who had a stroke. In the counties around here that have entered phase II opening that is what it means. The patient designates who there one allowed visitor will be, and it can only be changed under dire circumstances so people aren't changing it every day. We are hoping to be approved for phase II on Friday but that doesn't mean the hospital will change their policies immediately. Right now our expectation is that I will take Mom in and stay with her until surgery, then I will wait until the surgery is over and speak with the surgeon. After that all communication with Mom will be done by phone until they tell us to pick her up.
Mom is supposed to ask today about getting her things to her room. Last time she provided her own walker, dressing aids etc. I had them in the car and then after she was in her room I brought them to her. They wanted the patient to use their own things so when they were being taught how to use them it would work the same for when they got home. With joint replacement they want you getting dressed every day in the hospital, that is part of the therapy.

Sharon, central air conditioning. Very nice! Luck to your mom for a successful surgery and recovery. I took a personal day off yesterday. I slept in, did some yoga, and made a nice brunch. I then spent the afternoon baking cookies for a friend stationed overseas. Mailed off this morning-postage didn't cost as much as I thought it would. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/thumbsup.png) DH's first PT appointment was yesterday and he said they didn't do much. The "fun" starts tomorrow morning and proceeds with twice a week sessions. We'll see.

Good luck for your mom's surgery Sharon.
Same for your DH's PT Iggy.
DH went back to the doctor this morning, she added cortisone. He's still not great but he's getting better. I'm sure the cortisone will help the swelling.
Job 2 is now over till Sept (except for a meeting tomorrow). As of next week I'll only have my 3 Admin/Professor students. It's great for spending time with E, but for my income, not so much.

debthaven -- Glad that DH is continuing to improve. Sorry about the income but glad about E. Iggy aka IG -- Glad that your DH is also back on the road to recovery. I know that you will be glad when things are somewhat back to normal. TheOtherMe -- Happy that the items using your parent's items came out great. My mom was also into crafts so I have a lot of holiday items that she made. Update: I finally made it to the park this morning to walk. I was planning to go yesterday but some spots in the area received up to 5 inches of rain within 2 hours which led to massive traffic issues and some street flooding. I stayed home. I am continuing to get a little done each day -- not a lot but a little.

Hey ladies 👋🏻
I am nearly back home and will probably take 2 days because I am just not up to 14 hours of driving today. The trip has gone well but there’s a LOT of wind which has slowed me down a little.
Should have news on the house front soon but until then I really need to clean out my car and get a massage when I get home.

I am giving my old microwave to my brother and dropping 2+ boxes to donation tonight after work. I am so happy to get those out of the house and checked off my to do list. I still have quite a bit to deal with but if I can clear my area up I will be very thankful.

Nice of you to give him the microwave, snapdragon . I've been doing what I call a spring office purge the past several weeks: ~2.5 stacks on my desk reduced to about an inch in my in box. ~4 grocery bags full of shredding to the dumpster. Will probably add another bag or two today. ~Took several boxes out to the bin. ~Finally took the aloe vera plant a friend gave me a month ago home yesterday. ~I kept USPS shipping envelopes and a few size boxes here just in case. Going to take them back to USPS today. 7 pieces. ~Put plastic grocery bags for the shredder and reception garbage can into a plastic basket someone gave me full of goodies last month. This neatened up that cupboard. ~Cleaned out the top left desk drawer which included pending files and the above referenced shredding. ~Going to take a few pictures and knickknacks home which will make it easier to clean surfaces. More to come!

Good morning! Our 2019-2020 school year is officially wrapped up. My summer college classes (that I'm taking, not teaching) start in two weeks. My DD#1 finished her bachelor's degree this week. We're proud of her, of course. DS#1 is coming over this weekend. DD#2 got a job as a check-in greeter at the local hospital. That will help both her mental health and her checking account. I just planned a weekend get-away for DH and I for two weeks from now with our camping trailer.
Other than all of that, time to plod along with the deep cleaning list!

DH continues to improve. Our RE lawyer called asking for info pertaining to the sale of the studio. Closing takes ages here but it looks like it will indeed happen. E is staying in DD's room. I had to shove all of DD's clothes onto fewer shelves to make room for E's things. I apologised to DD who said, absolutely no problem. She asked me to help her go through her closet after they leave. I've been keeping up with kitchen/dishwasher/laundry/tidying but nothing else. Having a 3YO is delightful but very tiring LOL.

Those are wonderful, TheOtherMe! Good news about your DH, debthaven. And having a 3-yo to play with, too. Out of curiosity, which language does your DS and DDil speak at home?

TheOtherMe your bear and pillow are delightful. I love the bowling print on the bear. I painted 3 hours yesterday after work. Today it's raining and tomorrow is forecast for more rain. It is so hard to get the outside of the house painted when it keeps raining.

Congrats on your DD1's degree Chloe!
Those are gorgeous TheO. I hope they give you great comfort.
Finnime, they speak both English and French at home, so E is perfectly bilingual. He "plays the game" so as requested he speaks English with his Mama and French with his Papa. My DS1 speaks French to him so he learns both languages.
My DDIL is also bilingual, English and Spanish. So E knows some Spanish too, but the focus is on English and French. E went to a French-speaking nursery when they were living in MA until the quarantine. He still has Zooms with his class. We've all enjoyed that LOL.

The bowling print was a tie that my dad brought home from the ABC Tournament in St. Paul in 1951, the year I was born. TheOtherMe , those are both so precious and well made! I love the fact his tie was used. I emptied the office garbage with two more bags of shredding as predicted, the unused mailing material has been brought back to the post office, a free deli sandwich gifted from a friend picked up, and DH and my ballots for the primary dropped off. Masks are required in restaurants, even if one is picking up take out. I felt bad for the counter woman, who was profusely perspiring behind hers.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/smile.gif)

I passed my goal for paperwork today!
I have also gotten rid of over 2000 emails in my "good" account. The email account for shopping, etc. gets cleared out pretty regularly. Now, I have to get moving on getting stuff out of the house.

I finally started listing items in the sale group I made on FB last night. I've already sold 9 items. And since the only members are my friends, I am comfortable having them come here to pick them up. I told them I can even just do porch pickups and bag and leave them on our porch. I will be listing more today, so hopefully I unload even more!

Decided to sign in and update numbers since I did manage to get a few more items out of the house. Still adding items to the donation box but won't count them until they are out of the house and that may be weeks away. I managed to get another walk in this morning since I know that next week may be iffy and I was able to get there early before the heat got really bad. Keeping up with the daily items and continuing to eat out of the freezer. Still can't move the items from the garage freezer into the compartment in the fridge but getting closer. Hope to be able to move a few more items next week as I plan to consume some additional items currently in the fridge freezer this weekend. I will need to do a grocery run next week but planning on only getting the perishables that I am out of. Mainly produce and dairy. Haven't had a chance to read the thread but did notice the bear and pillow that TheOtherMe had made. How wonderful. I hope having them around will bring you comfort.

I put the bear and pillow in the living room, which is where I spend most of my awake hours.
I do find comfort in them.
Thank you all
