My cluttered house would make your heads explode.
However, it is better than it was. My goal every day is to have it at least a little better than the day before. I am more than halfway to my paperwork goal for the year, and more or less on track for other items. I have a bunch of things ready to go on freecycle once normalcy returns.

Hope all of you are staying safe as we progress through the new challenges life is sending us. I did get to walk the other day and will try it again. Planned to do it this morning but did not sleep well and sinus were acting up. Decided to postpone the walk to another day. I should have taken the allergy meds yesterday before I spent the time outdoors re-potting several plants. Quite a few were overcrowded and needed to be separated. I had a few small bags of potting soil on hand so I finish them off. Trying to tackle one area at a time. Today I managed to shred several things that I had held on to for too many years. Figured that it they were shredded I would not refile them. Also added a few additional items to the trash and one to the donation box. I am continuing to get work done on both the house as well as on the craft projects. Work on the very time consuming project is progressing slowly. Managing to get a few smaller ones completed as well as a repair for a friend. Glad to get that one done as I have been sitting on it for too long. I have no idea when the craft shows will start up again. Was to have one tomorrow but with the stay-at-home mandate until the end of April that one is off the schedule. Still have not ventured out to the grocery but do think that I may have to venture out early one morning next week. Running low on some of the basics. this is the approach that I take. Every thing I can conquer and keep conquered is one less thing to deal with in the future. Glad debthaven and Iggy aka IG are taking today off work. Stay safe all!

The living spaces that I use are not too bad re: being cluttered.
It's the stuff behind closed doors and in the garage that is my issue/problem.
I have not done any decluttering since my dad got so very sick last November.
I have no idea when I will be motivated to do it again.
It's all I can do to keep things straightened up and in decent shape.
I do realize I am clearly still grieving. My response to that is paralysis. I sit and think. Probably doesn't do me much good, but it's what I do.

I went into the office today and grabbed some papers I needed and did some decluttering. I threw out more old papers that I no longer need. I finished painting my office and decided the "non-accent" wall color is not working for me. So, I found another color that I plan to try. Lowe's is still open and they have the color I need and so I think I'll go there tomorrow.

paynointerest , do you mean your office at school? I'm curious because both my schools have been closed for nearly 3 weeks. We had 24h to get our stuff after the info about the confinement, then the buildings were closed. DH came with me to help carry my materials but they wouldn't even let DH into the building. Today was cold and cloudy and I was exhausted so I stayed in pjs all day. DS1 FaceTimes us with E every Friday. He told us E's other grandparents have started reading to E on FaceTime, so DH and I did that today. It was wonderful! E was thrilled, as were we. Plus DS1 was able to get Stuff done. So we're going to start doing that more often, ideally when DS1 has his classes, but we'll see. DS1 is finishing his MSc, and he's also a TA. This weekend (updated)- mark 30 reports - mark 3 mock exams I don't care if I don't finish the marking, but I'd like to get ahead. I found out this morning that my third and last set of oral exams for prospective students (late June/early July) has also been cancelled. That's 4-5K I won't earn this year. I know it's a first-world problem and I'm very lucky to still have a job. The government also decided no RE sales during confinement, so selling the studio has been postponed too (hopefully only postponed and not cancelled) .

Ouch! Sorry about the loss of income, and the sale of the studio being postponed. What a headache! We're still scrambling to get me out the door, and on the road this weekend. We'll be making some last minute changes, I'm sure, in deciding what'll be going in the car. Please pray that all of the communities I need to drive thru let me pass by. The rumor mill here is depressing on how the police might be treating "visitors".

This weekend (updated)
- mark 15/29 reports/Sat - mark 9/29 reports/Sun
Setting reasonable goals so I have time for "fun" things, like taking walks. I need to finish my marking by Thursday (when I get more).
ETA: We went for a walk and stopped at the small local store for more veg for tomorrow's chicken soup. The veg are kept outside. We wore masks to pay.

crappity crap crap. I'm looking at paperwork for purging and realized, I never put my COBRA payments in for taxes. They are deductible, aren't they? I have 2 sets of payments from 2 job changes. Ugh. Also, anyone know how long one needs to keep mortgage statements from a prior home, sold in 2013, and unemployment paperwork? I'm getting sick of lugging them around.

I have learned the hard way being sick for a month to not push so hard. There is a limit and getting everything done on an arbitrary timetable will backfire. It's not like we will have guests anytime soon either so a pile of clean sheets and blankets on a guest bed is not a crisis. They will get folded.
Living room painting has commenced. New kitchen rugs are down. These will be easier to keep clean and hopefully kind to my feet. New bathroom rugs need washed.

Very good point wvugurl26 ! Sorry if I "insisted". Sorry I can't help empress of self-improvement . If you need an answer quickly, maybe ask on YM? My regular semester at Job 2 finished last week, but summer term at Job 2 started last week. That overlap is why I had such a hard time last week.

Stuff in the main level that would take 30 seconds to put away would be annoying. If only the sheets took 30 seconds to fold!
They are hidden out of sight. I worked hard last weekend to clean off the kitchen table. It was annoying DH. One day everything will have a place.

Yes, the COBRA payments would be deductible as health insurance. You would have to itemize on your tax return to claim them. You didn't say what years, so an amended return might be needed if paid in a prior year (other than 2019). If paid in 2019 and you have filed, you will need to file an amended return. On the house sale, I'd purge those since they are from 7 years ago. Probably not on a tax return, right? Unemployment paperwork. I don't have experience with that and don't even know what kind of paperwork you might have.

I started painting the house yesterday and I am sore this morning. This is going to be a long project as I knew it would be. The money I will save from doing it myself should cover the cost of all the electrical work I had done. This next week the weather is supposed to improve starting on Tuesday. My goal is to get out in the yard after work during the weekdays and try and get the yard in order for Spring. Then I have my weekends free for painting.

I'm thinking not. Unless a very effective vaccine comes into play quickly. Otherwise - we are going to be limping along with the majority still avoiding infection.

ok - I've been quite busy and productive today, but unfortunately it isn't really visible. I'm hoping I'm laying a foundation for future highly visible and impactful results.
So - I was back on the laundry room project and got completely siderailed with the tools and hardware fiasco in my search for the nuts and washers for the laundry table.
I used to be pretty handy and take on a lot of those types of tasks but for some reason I haven't the past 10 years or so and the tool area became a real cluttered, dusty, mess. So I spent about 2 hours today going through all of that in an effort to find any type of nut and washer that would work for setting up the table. I know that I had a little pack I bought at ACE hardward a few years back - just general but was hoping something in there could fit.
The tool area is certainly far from clean and organized but it is much better! I did not find that pack of hardware but I was at least confident it was not in the basement. So - I was looking at an upstairs drawer where I keep things for immediate and frequent use - that I have checked 5 times since the idea for the table was implemented - and no - I didn't find that little pack, but I did find a baggies with half the washers and nuts needed for the table! Seems we only used half of them on the other table. Suppose to have 2 per leg, but will do 1 per leg and hope for the best!
Why didn't I see this the first 5 times I checked this drawer?
Tune in next time for Mysteries of the Brownies....

DD and her boyfriend are outside power washing the front and back porch. Yay!! It's been needed for a long time. They are mostly made of trex decking, the wooden parts all need new paint. They've been "sanded" to bare wood by the power washer. DD will probably be the one too repaint. She has a steady hand. I habitually make a mess while painting. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow so maybe Ill supervise...
I count this as decluttering due to the excessive amounts of green algae? mold? mildew? from our entryways. It bothers me every time I go in and out.
I'm managing to maintain the common areas of the house and keep up with the laundry. With everyone eating at home the dishwasher runs every freaking day! It used to be every two or three days.
Three weeks ago I was pretty enthusiastic about having time to cook. I'm over it. We've done takeout once, from the restaurant L works for but mostly I'm trying to conserve funds, not knowing how long this will last.
I'm trying to remain grateful that the only problems I have are first world problems.

Goodwill is the main place to donate clothes in my area. They are closed.
I was able to donate cat food last week to an organization that keeps a pet pantry for those in need. They told me through the window that a family will appreciate that.
I'm seeing a lot of high dollar items on the local garage sale sites. Guessing people out of work?
I'm also seeing "virus free". Um, the seller can not guarantee that whatever they are selling is virus free.

Tomorrow is 21 days of lockdown for us. I'm definitely feeling it. I've been having a panic attack because I didn't finish my marking this weekend. As y'all know I sort of cracked last week and ended up postponing two classes. So I decided to "take it easy" this weekend instead of trying to finish my marking the way I usually do. Now it's Sun night and I'm freaking out about the upcoming week, because now I ALSO have to do the marking I DIDN'T finish over the weekend, as well as do my classes. How does that help?! Some of it can wait, but some of it can't, and I have more papers coming in on Thursday. I'm also very angry at myself for being too lazy to go out for a walk today. It would have done me good. Next week- mark 3 mock exams/Mon (I MUST do this!)- supermarket/Mon (I think this can wait but DH doesn't. He'll win, but I want to go too.) - mark last 5 reports/? (This can wait.) - pharmacy/? (This can wait.)

debthaven We have no order by the state, but I've been social distancing to the point that I'm going crazy and feel on the verge of totally losing it.
