Is there something in the air, snapdragon ? We've hit a snag on the sale of our house, too. The mortgage company used an appraisal company from outside the area, and they appraised the house much too low. We can't lower the price, as we've already given the buyer a break on closing costs, so not sure what'll happen next. It is what it is. If they can't get a different mortgage company, or different appraiser, the deal may fall through. I so understand the wait, hurry up we have to do this, and sign this at lightening speed and than it's wait on whatever. So nuts and really annoyed that I spent most of September expecting it to be in someone elses hands by the end of the month. So kinda annoyed and bummed and I don't want to think too hard on the financial aspect of this whole thing. That would make me cry I believe. Well, the sale of our house crashed & burned today. The buyers really needed to get a different mortgage company, but are short on time, so they've backed out. So, we're beginning the entire process once again. Our agent says there's a shortage of "reasonably-priced" houses available, so he thinks he can line up another buyer soon.

I have a problem. I was looking for shoe racks and found this!. I love this! Closet space was at a premium in Florida. A system like this would've come in very handy.

That's a lot like the ones I put in my office. They have been great. I use them as a sort-of overflow pantry. One has larger items like crockpot, stockpots, extra Kitchenaid attachments, etc. The other one has stocked-up paper products like paper towels, Ziplock bags and napkins, as well as tablecloths.

I am doing a good job keeping up with general household stuff given our chaotic schedules right now. In another week or so it should slow down when baseball ends. I want to tidy up the garage (again, ugh) before it gets too cold and we put away all the outdoor stuff. If I can start that task this weekend, I will be happy.

I'm so sorry about the sale busymom . I hope you find someone else quickly! I love those tall wardrobes Knee Deep in Water Chloe , but most of our bedrooms have sloped ceilings. This week - set up 3 "class spaces" online/ThursFinally Job 1 will alternate weeks in class & weeks on Zoom as of Mon. Different years are on different schedules. The bad news is that most Tuesdays I'll have to rush between school and home at lunchtime. The good news is that I'll have 4 Thursdays working from home. It's a good solution, although things could change again. Frankly I hope not.

I am decluttering my gmail inboxes this morning. so far, over 200 300 unread (and many more read...) emails, mostly junk, out of the primary email. I've sorted a lot in the professional/financial inbox as well. no item count on that, though. this weekend, I will be decluttering more boxes from the house as the plumbing issues seem to finally be all set. Malarky , I found the box with all the travel mugs, and I have more extras I already know I'm pulling out of normal use. you may need to take a trip back south again soon. ETA: I'm done for today. I'm seeing things in duplicates, and fear I might delete something by accident that I should keep.

All of the items I have collected for donations are GONE!!! About 170 added to my total. Keeping busy. I am continuing to keep up with the house. Took a little break from beading to start packaging items as way to protect them from any virus. Three of the four craft shows we have scheduled have either cancelled or rescheduled for the Spring. Our other venues also have not reopened yet. I am continuing to add a few new items to the Etsy shop on a regular basis. My teaching with zoom has been going ok. Only 8 more classes for this semester. I have been typing up notes to send out to the students as a backup to what I am covering in class. And that is taking some time as well. busymom -- Sorry about the house. May you have a new buyer soon. chiver78 -- So happy that you can now live in your beautiful home. debthaven == Hopefully all your scheduling woes are behind you and that things settle down some. Knee Deep in Water Chloe -- I love that cabinet but I need to get rid of stuff and that would just give me additional places to store things.
Need to get some lunch into me. Ran some errands this morning and need to get a few things done thins afternoon. Take care all. Be safe.

I stocked up on household items today. Realized the basement household pantry shelf was a bit of a mess. I rearranged everything so it's all visible. I also rearranged the basement food pantry shelf but I didn't buy much stock, just coffee. They're threatening a new lockdown here. I don't know how real the threat is, but I want to keep a good stock of the items that were so hard to find (toilet paper, hand soap and disinfectant wipes). I don't like "panic buying" so I need one more trip to get my stock where I want it. Last weekend with no marking (although I'll have significantly less than before because there are no more midterms ).

debthaven, glad you stocked up. I am the same way: I dislike panic buying. Mostly because it feels like everyone is doing the same at the last minute. Have a wonderful weekend, friends.

I've got plenty of toilet paper and cleaning supplies. That is the kind of stuff I was panic buying.

TheO they don't sell things in huge quantities here ... the biggest package of TP here is 18 rolls, but they're TINY rolls. I prefer the bigger rolls, which only come in 4 or 6-packs. So today I bought two 6-packs. I want to buy two more.
There is a Costco here now, but it's an hour away (one way). If they build one closer (which was planned before Covid), we would consider getting a membership. Our friend N (who lives 20 min closer and works from home) has a membership.
As per cleaning supplies, we used to have one on the go and one in the basement. Now we have one on the go and TWO in the basement.

Chiver - if you ever need gmail tips hit me up! I teach a class on email and once got a client from 43,000 emails to 200 in an hour 👍🏻
My Friday was a mess, something came up with my client and so while I was supposed to have the day off I needed to put in a few hours. I’ve also spent some hours working on fabric and organizing so I can fill the under bed boxes I got for the office.
My foot is so much worse since yesterday. I dropped the tv stand on it Wednesday and then tripped and fell Thursday and now I can put much pressure on that foot. I’ve been icing it and wearing a brace. It’s not broken but badly sprained and swollen. Thankfully I went grocery shopping and got dog food so I’m good for the week. I don’t trust myself to get up on the ladder and clean or paint though.

Do those tips only apply to Gmail? Or do they work for Outlook? We won't talk about how many I have.

Please post your tips on corralling gmail. I also have issues. You'd think I had this account for years, not months. And it's work related...I can't ignore it forever.

Well, do you mean Gmail specifically or email in general? I manage gmail and non-gmail email accounts, so some of it is the same. I just want to make sure I'm answering the question you're actually answering.

If you use Gmail or another service that has these features then filters and folders are your best friend. 1. Choose an email from a company that you want to see and select it from the main menu 2. Choose “filter messages like these” and search for all messages from the same email 3. Select “add label” and set up a folder for that company. If you want you can also “skip inbox” so it goes right to the folder. 4. When you hit “okay” to create the filter (ie rule) make sure to select “add all matching conversations” which will gather up all emails from that company and put them in the folder you choose. 5 if you come across an email you don’t want anymore then unsubscribe, then do a search for that email and archive all matching emails. Archives can be searched but the goal is to clear the inbox. I have a TON of folders and sub folders to keep me organized. Some are: Appointments - confirmed - pending Accounts - electric - gas - auto insurance Newsletters (One folder for each company) Orders - business - personal Finances - bank statements - donations - taxes Communication - family - random - so and so’s funeral The nice thing is in Gmail you can say which folders show up in the menu in your settings and move or rename folders anytime. Hope this helps! Lmk if you have questions and I can always DM you

For email in general: In my regular inbox I do not open every email. I have all of my email accounts set so I can read the first line or two of an email while I'm looking at the inbox. If I don't need to open it, I file it or delete it without doing so. I set aside specific time each day to go through emails. If it's something that's going to take me longer to answer, I add that to my "to do" list and move the email into the appropriate file. Then, it's not cluttering my inbox.
What are problems that you've specifially had with your email management that you find daunting? Then I could speak to those.

I'm working on the final draft of student schedules. This round lasts through October 16th. Once that's done, it'll be time to knock off a few quick housework tasks. I'm going to post here every 30 - 60 minutes or so with what i've accomplished just to keep myself in check. Feel free to ignore me.

I have cleaned the stove top, the toilets, and the pans from breakfast. I took some stuff out to the garage that needed to go, but I also brought some groceries in from the shelves out there. Since it's football season, DH does the laundry, so I don't have to do that until February.

I helped one of the advisors get rid of a stack of papers three feet tall. He went through the folders of old clients and I took down the notes about what he needs to do in regards to the next step specific to their case i.e Review Life Ins policy. Three feet of paper consolidated into what will be a one page Word doc.
