Another $82 at the grocery store this morning. TD came home with a chicken from Costco yesterday, so some of it is getting turned into green chicken enchiladas for dinner tonight. Rest of the chicken is likely going into pot pies. I have a beef ribs, along with the end of the prime rib that I am going to make into beef vegetable soup.

I love Brookside chocolate candies! I'm going to Target this weekend too! I'm so getting some! Don’t blame me if you eat a bag in one sitting. They are called crackberries for a reason.

Just spent $17.37 at Sam's on food. The rest of the $100 I spent was not on food. So that brings my total for March to $72.65. I have to get more produce this weekend, so I'll probably cross the $100 mark. I did get a big bag of crackberries to try!

Up to $168, I bought a container of burnt peanuts, ate those in 2 days. Birthday cake and ice cream plus lunch at Olive Garden tomorrow, but not adding those in. I told DD back on our weight loss Monday, we will have enjoyed ourselves enough for awhile.

My kid even made a comment that she liked them and she usually doesn't like dark chocolate. I won't eat a whole bag at once, but they're pretty good.

I think February was close to $400. I was also away on vacation for a week.
I've spent $160 so far in March. $500 was my wild guess and I'm betting I get close to that in March since I won't be away from home. I know I need chicken soon.

I went to Aldi today and spent $27.32 which brings March to $99.97 so far for food. Definitely crossing the $100 threshold next time.

I’m almost afraid to say, but it will definitely ease the minds of some of you who worry that YOU are spending too much. $1,200 month ($150/week each) goes just to the kids (a college athlete and a fitness buff, both in their early 20s) who shop and cook for themselves at college. Neither really eats out much and both eat huge quantities of healthy proteins and fresh produce.
Then, DH and I spend another $600-$800 or so for similar eating styles (and a few household items). We’re in a VHCOLA, though. I do cook and bake from scratch. We rarely eat out.
It is what it is. We could, and do, cut back when necessary.

Welp, I almost reached my goal of $200. However, I didn't go to Sam's yet so.... Spent $184.40 at the grocery store Friday night. My goal was to spend $135 there and the rest at Sam's. Oops. However, I saved 24% shopping the sales and using a few paper and e-coupons. I stopped at WM this AM for cough syrup and a few other items. Yep, am sick again. Already. I used the Zicam coupon I printed out a month or two ago, so that saved $3.50. Total for the month: $231.26. $57.02 of that is TP, vitamins, the above mentioned cold meds, and a few other HBAs. I will need to buy eggs and fresh produce again sometime soon.

I could pay my house and car payments with that and still have money leftover. I'm sorry.

I didn't go to the store this weekend. I usually only go about twice a month. I will have to go this weekend as the produce is on its last leg. Made a big salad last night. We'll have that for the next few days along with other things for dinner.

Do you guys think an app like ibotta is worth the hassle to set up and use?

Do you guys think an app like ibotta is worth the hassle to set up and use? Do you use a lot of name brand stuff? I buy a lot of generics so it was only marginally useful for me. It's not just the set up, you have to constantly go through the current deals and pick which ones you want (usually by store) and watch a video or answer a question or sometimes do nothing if you're lucky. Then you have to scan the receipt from the store and, if I'm not confusing it with another app that is similar, you have to scan the product too.

Sometimes you have to scan the product. Usually on Walmart if it matches up the offers to the receipt code, I don't have to scan the product.
If you buy mostly generics you won't save much. I've used it for a couple years and earned $410.
Sometimes there's nothing in a month and sometimes I redeem a bunch of rebates.

The total for March is up to $246. We'll be adding $100 at least this weekend. We need to make a Sam's club run and we are out of several things including chicken.

Looks like about $400 so far this month, I'm very surprised, I went through my debit card bills. We have eaten well, of course I have 10 days to go yet.

So far this month I've spent $102. Likely will need another trip for some small things. My budget per month is $225 so won't come close to that.

Add $50 to that so about $450 now.
I cleaned the slide out drawers in the kitchen freezer, pitched a bunch of old stuff.
Now I need to get into the big freezer in the garage, I kind of went through it last year. But it needs defrosted, never have in the 6 years here so that needs done. I need to take everything out. Think there is lots of breads in there that need pitched.
I cleaned the smaller one in the basement last year and threw anything old away before I packed it with corn and peaches. I don't freeze apples anymore, don't like them. So its still ok.

Up to $354 for March. I need to make a Walmart run this weekend for a few things. I got a nice surprise at Sam's Club, I had $20 in rewards to use towards my total.
We've been home most of this month and it's pretty close to my guess of $400-500.

Up to $397 after today's errands. We will probably need more lunch meat mid week. I'll say $415 to be generous for that and anything else. I think we need water too.

We are at $345 so far for March and we have one more trip to the grocery store scheduled for Tuesday. It should be a small shopping list and I am hoping we will stay within $400. We haven't gotten the 1/4 cow yet, so that still includes meat.

Well, I just added up our March total: $494. If we can manage to not spend more than $6 today and tomorrow at Kroger, we'll be under my arbitrary $500 limit. I really thought we'd be WAY over this month, so I'm happy to see we aren't!

Well I ended up blowing my grocery budget by about $100. They had a sale on my medications so I bought 4 months worth, and I invited some friends over for dinner and had to buy additional items. Hopefully I do better next month.

I just put our whole vacation on the credit card (yay cash back but gulp), so I took out $75 to start April’s grocery budget. We’ll spend more than that, but I’m using up everything we can in the pantry first. And I planted lettuce and spinach seeds last night, hopefully that helps...

resolution, I say medicines shouldn't count as food. Similar to others, I went over this month, and I still have the Sam's Club run tomorrow. I put it off last month, so it is time. I'll keep to my very specific list, however.
