Have you tried losing weight by taking diet pills? There are a lot of people in my town who are using some type of pills to lose weight. I have heard they are expensive but people have been losing weight on them. I think my problem is I have no willpower when it comes to food.

No. Pretty sure my heart would explode or I wouldn’t sleep for a week. I have a very low caffeine tolerance, a cup of Dunkin’ coffee makes my heart race and I climb the walls. And I’m weird—I hate to take pills of any kind. I have very little willpower either. Yesterday my exercise bike said I burned an egg McMuffin worth of calories, and I needed a nap when I was done. That killed the egg McMuffin craving I’d been having. Now to find out how much time on the bike a chocolate chip cookie is worth. (Although those might be worth it😉)

I also don’t like taking medicine if I don’t absolutely have to.

Wednesday Intake: 2,055 Burn: 2,018
Thursday intake: 2,114 Burn: 1,907
Friday Intake: 1,952 Burn: 1859
Saturday Intake: 1,450 Burn: 2,186
Welp, that’s not a course for losing weight. Hopefully, I’ve not gained any. I should weigh myself tomorrow.

I have never taken pills to help with weight loss. I do not like taking pills. I have little self control.
Weekly check in
Hit step goal by over 5000. Did well on controlling calorie intake Monday thru Wednesday. Thursday not as well. Very poor Friday thru Sunday.
This week step goal will remain at 80000. At least one day of strength training. No snacking after 9:00 PM.
Keep up the good work everyone.
Weight 1/1/19 177.2 2/1/19 175.2 2/18/19 174.8

This is me also. I can remember when I was young my mom would try diet pills - they never worked for her because her diet was terrible.

I am not a pill taker. I have been allergic to every medicine they have given me....even Vitamin D 10,000 mg. What the heck!

Pills are just a quick fix attempt. For weight loss or maintenance, one needs to make a lifestyle change and not try to get something without doing the work.

I'm feeling rather froggy today. I just did a bootcamp class. Now I'm on the treadmill for a few. I'm going home to clean house and then I'm going to go to my regular gym and do my normal workout later. I want to stop by Half Price Books and see if I can find a healthy cookbook.

Goals for Monday, Feb 18 - Sunday, Feb 24 I have no reflections since the last time I wrote a reflection on this thread, I ended up in the ER the next day and surgeries the two days after that!
I'm feeling well enough to set some reasonable-within-recovery goals.
Steps: 9,000 per day; at least 65,000 for the week Calorie intake: 1,700 per day; no more than 12,500 for the week Yoga (with accommodations for my arm): 60 minutes for the week Water: 50 oz per day
Weight Check-In January 1: 150.4 January High: 153.0 January Low: 150.4 February 8: 151.4 February 18: 148.0

Today was relatively good. Had the day off so I did the groceries, some stuff around the house, and a 30 minute Barre 3 workout. Had lunch with a friend and had a kale caesar with salmon for lunch. Also had three glasses of red wine. It's the heart healthy wine! Lol.

I have some big goals for this year, so I hired myself a trainer. I started in earnest this week. OMG the core workouts are going to kill me. Yesterday was only 13 minutes and I was DYING at the end. Clearly, hiring this trainer is going to be worth it.

About pills -
I've never taken diet pills per se but have noticed various meds make a big impact on appetite. Antibiotics make everything taste off to me. Painkillers and cough syrups also kill appetite. I eat more when I'm taking NSAIDs to avoid stomach upset. Antidepressants increase appetite.

My activity levels have remained okay. We won't discuss all the eating that went on this past Sunday.... But yesterday I started up the food diary again. Not MFP (which I really should be on) but just jotting down my food intake. It wasn't too bad. I'm really trying to take the salt/sodium thing to heart so now I look at ALL THE LABELS. No more jarred salsas for me - they contain a staggering amount of sodium per serving and I'll really have to reduce my consumption of crackers/tortilla chips/fried foods/takeout/etc. I did have pizza last night (a lot), but it was homemade. I made the crust out of wheat flour and added flaxseed. I also had a salad with raspberry vinaigrette I picked up at Aldi (half the sodium of other dressings I had seen). I also walked 3 miles at the Y yesterday. Today breakfast was bran flakes with blueberries and milk plus a slice of whole wheat toast with butter. Lunch was 1.5 slices of homemade pizza and the same salad as above. I'm going out with friends tonight, so I need to figure out what I'm going to eat/drink that won't be overloaded with salt. I probably won't have too much luck there, which is why I made sure my breakfast and lunch weren't awful sodium-wise. I still need to get a workout in today.

My play run is over. It went well. Things got so hectic at the end that I didn't manage to cook ANYTHING. I made poor choices a couple of times but I guess the good news is that I maintained at 61 kilos. I even hit 60.9 kilos once (a new record for me!) First I need to catch up on work and life, and then I need to think about my diet again. I'm disappointed because I still haven't hit my goal weight, but I only missed it by 1 kilo/2.2 lbs. I've maintained my current weight for 2 months. DH says maybe I need to let that goal go?! Dunno. I've lost 19 kilos / 42 lbs and managed to stayed there for 2 months. But my stretch goal was 20 kilos/44 lbs. I just CANNOT manage to get there, and it bothers me.
What do you all think? I did keto (which I can't manage to do anymore, although I'm low carb now).

With the play being over can you work in some exercise? They say when you are stuck you need to do something different to shock your body out of the plateau.
I had planned to do better this week on steps. I had 4 hours of meetings and trainings today. And now I'm under forced rest by DH. If I did nothing every time I had bronchitis, it would be ugly.

I somehow lost that consistency this school year. Right now, getting from 20 ounces or less per day up to 50 ounces per day is reasonable. Once I'm consistent again with at least 50, then I'll aim for 75 ounces per day.

If I drank that much I could never get out of the bathroom. I don't know how you do it. I hope to continue losing, 44 pounds that is wonderful. I hope to lost 15 and don't know if I can even do that. I'm down about 9 now. That's over about 3 weeks and being sick too. I haven't drank any soda today and its about all I can do to stay awake today. I'm trying to stop it. I have read about how totally bad it is for you, I knew, but from what I read yesterday its even worse then I knew. If only I could get DD to stop drinking it. It explained how it caused you to gain weight even on the diet stuff.

I lost another pound since last week. Still exercising most days and trying to get a better grip on my eating habits.

I haven't been here in so long I'm not getting notices in my "participated" section. I set that 10 lb goal how long ago? 12 pounds to go I just can't seem to care at all.

I haven't been drinking enough either. After 4 kids I already need the bathroom constantly!!!
I recontacted the Wed evening Zumba professor I emailed a few months ago to see how much it would cost to join after winter break (which is next week) and to ask if she has other local sessions I could attend if I miss a Wed evening.
DH's play is in May (we are both in the same troupe, this is the first year we have not done the same play). Wed is the ONLY night DH NEVER has rehearsal. So I'm reluctant to commit to Wednesday nights after having Mon + Wed night rehearsals since Oct (plus all day Sat or Sun for the past month).

Once again - for the 20th time since the beginning of the year -- I am going to try to stick to healthy eating. I have probably consumed over 2000 calories in the past 2 weeks just on chocolate. I am going to try to cut out all sweets and soda. Ugh...I'm never going to have the willpower. And I need to get back to daily exercises.
