Christmas decorations are as up as they're going to get. Time to start planning holiday meals.
During the Black Friday sales, our kitchen dishes went on sale. We ordered 20 replacement pieces. We had broken at least ten pieces prior to the order. When the box arrived, we tossed three drastically chipped and cracked pieces and purged at six random coffee cups for the four matching ones that came. DH wants to purge more slightly chipped pieces, but I'm struggling with that as they're still usable. I feel good about that 1:1 exchange and it being at a discounted prices.

In the end the kids stayed here this weekend. I was supposed to work Mon and Tues, but my Tuesday meeting was cancelled because of the strikes (people coming from the main campus). I was able to switch two professor classes from Tues to Mon, so I'm only working Mon (and bringing home 37 more finals).
DS3 comes home from the UK on Tues. I hope he doesn't have any problems. I have 28 more finals to pick up from Job 2 later this week but I'll worry about that later.
moneysquirrel it always makes me laugh that you're retired and still think in semesters (but I get it lol). Congrats on finishing another semester! I used to post the end of every semester on FB. One day a friend responded, after all those semesters, you still haven't graduated?! LOL! This week - bottle bank/Mon - pharmacy (DH?)/Mon - mark 37 finals Again, I'm only marking when the kids are out/asleep so it won't go quickly.

Girl, you deserve better than chipped dishes. Get some new ones. Call it a Christmas present.

This week was supposed to be free for decluttering my son's room as he is coming home for the break.
But since my friend is in the hospital in a coma and his wife is not able to deal with anything right now, we have been at the hospital every day since Wednesday. He has 3 kids and I am still not sure why he did this to himself. Nothing will get done for the foreseeable future.

I got the old lamps and a few other things out of the house yesterday. So happy to have those things gone. There is more to do but I will keep plugging away.

Thanks for the support everyone. Today afternoon he is having surgery to have the ventilator and feeding tube inserted and then they will have to make a decision on how long to have him that way.

I am so glad that I didn't plan to go anywhere in December! I talked to my realtor today about listing in March and she would like to re-list in early January Turns out the market is really hot right now and if we can do the new photos in late December/first week of January then we can go on the market as soon as it looks strong. So here's my rest of the year house to do list: 1. Re-paint the master bath paneling (white) 2. Touch up walls in master bath and guest bath (blue) 3. Lay new tiles in the master bath (Dec 20th) 4. Cut back the rose bushes for winter 5. Glue down all of the transition pieces (again) 6. Fix the porcelain chip in the bathtub 7. Paint the gold trim around the bathtub (white) 8. Replace the torn tile behind the toilet in the guest bath 9. Touch up ceiling paint as needed 10. Clean up all of the pots and containers on the side yard 11. Power wash the side yard, front porch and house siding 12. Do another coat of paint on the garage doors (if I get 2 dry days) 13. Ask my cousin if I can store the Cadillac at their garage in January 14. Finish packing the garage and neatly stack the boxes 15. Work with realtor on staging for photos

debthaven I love how you are grading and still enjoying your family, especially DGS. I was feeling as okay as I've felt since this ordeal with dad started when I went to sleep last night. Woke up freezing, nose running, head stuffy, body aching. My body is so depleted that I'm not going to push it. I have done what I absolutely had to do today (found dad's Part D card for 2020) and I'm planning on sleeping a lot today. Also took out the trash and recycling and have now brought the recycling bin back to the garage. startsmart Hope you get a quick sale at a great price

I bought a few Christmas presents early this year; forgot about them; came across them recently; thought, "Yay! A head start"; and now cannot find 2 out of 3.

ETA: TheO DH fixed that plug this morning as promised. DD came over for dinner. She wanted to say goodbye to DH who was reading a bedtime story to DGS and putting him to bed. DH was taking forever. DD finally left without saying goodbye to DH. Turns out DH and DGS were both fast asleep LOL.
These last few weeks since before my birthday have been a total whirlwind. I'm looking forward to things finally calming down.
So effing !!!!!!!!!

TheOtherMe -- Take care of yourself. I know from experience that when I don't take care of myself, am stressed and get run down then I will bet sick. Rest. debthaven -- Great planning for the grading. Another semester is almost done for you as well. You said: Actually that is what the organization calls them as well. The classes/activities run time wise similar weeks as the local universities. Someone once referred to it as "grandma school" since to be able to take part in any of the classes one has to be over 50. In one of the craft classes the ages run from the fifties to 97. For a lot of the elder members it is a needed socialization activities as it provides activities for many interest and talents. All the classes are taught by volunteers most of whom are of the same ages. startsmart -- Wishes for a quick, profitable sale. saveinla -- Wishes only good things for your friend and family. Any others -- keep up the good work.

DS3 made it home! He had a really hard time because of the strikes, but he made it! DS3 is having either 1 or 2 wisdom teeth out tomorrow, DH is taking him. DS1 + Co are having lunch with his Dad (my ex) tomorrow, so I'll pick up my last finals. At this point I'm 80% done, so I'm in no rush. I can do them this weekend after DS1/DDIL/DGS leave on Sat morning. I'm hoping the weather holds up so we can take DGS for a Grand Day Out Thurs or Fri.
