The floor is so exhausting! I have promised myself a manicure when I’m done because chipping out the old tile, cleaning up and cutting and laying new tiles is killer on the nails! I also have a hundred small pieces of sticky back tiles that have migrated and get stuck to the bottom of my socks. Goal is to finish by Monday when the realtor comes around to talk. Also, clean the whole house I started quilting today after finishing up the top and it’s going to be intensive! I have 21 more rows to sew before I flip it and trying to keep the back from bunching up is a full time job! It does look really, really nice though so that’s exciting.

Hi Kids! The Christmas tree stays up here through New Year's, so I decided to do some decluttering today. I tend to follow the rule to hang onto the last 7 years of tax paperwork. Since it's almost the first of the year, I began to shred some paperwork today.

My Christmas tree is already down and put away - but then again because it was just me I decided to be lazy and not set it up. Next year I want to do a big tree because I want to see my ornament collection - I miss it.
I do have lights outside on the steps but that's a 5 minute job.

I have been sloth-like over here. It is cold and rainy and dark today and NOTHING I planned has happened. All decor still up. Dreading going to work tomorrow and Tuesday, both crazy year end days (financial reporting). I did get to babysit G-baby a bit this weekend, so that was fun. Still have not spent any time considering my goals for 2020; personally or financially. Maybe this evening I will sit and think.

2 more items out the door. Only 5% of goal.
Oh well a new year is starting soon.

I managed to clean up the guest bath, office and living room today but that leaves the kitchen, sewing room, master bed and master bath for tomorrow before the realtor comes over.
Quick run around town and MOST of my errands are done except the library drop box was stuffed with trash and my books did not go in and I have one bill to drop off in person Monday.
I’ll post our 202 thread tonight or tomorrow and if the mods are reading please keep this thread OPEN until Wednesday for final numbers.

I didn't get any of my last list done so it's being bumped to 2020.

So it's time for a new list. I'm going to give my self until Christmas for this one. 1. Install closet organizer 2. Paint den (these 2 are left over from the last list) 3. Install new backsplash in kitchen. 4. Refinish my fridge with stainless steel contact paper. 5. Paint kitchen. (Not as big a job as it sounds, I have a small kitchen without much bare wall space) 6. Paint living room, entrance and hallway) 7. Paint my bedroom. 6 & 7 are the big jobs on this list. I have not made any progress on this list, and I'm booked next weekend too. I have to figure out when to do this stuff. Just so i can find the list

Finally made it to shopping center with a Nike store and remembered to take the 7 pairs of beat up and outgrown sneakers from DS so I could drop them in their sneaker recycle bin.
I also have a bag of clothes in the car that DS outgrew but didn’t manage to connect with the friend we’re giving them to, so I still have those.
Need to declutter our couch and loveseat in the next week as we bought new ones yesterday and they’ll be delivered in a week. I’m going to post them for free at work on our e-bulletin board, so hopefully someone wants them and will come pick them up so I don’t have to deal with FB marketplace.

The tile is very pretty startsmart.
Definitely did not get as much done as I had hoped in 2019. The storage unit will be completely empty though by Tuesday night. Sorting through that is going to spill over into 2020.
The big living room chairs and 4 kitchen chairs went to Goodwill Saturday.
I did get through 2 crates from storage Sunday night.

I did meet my decluttering goal in 2019 before life totally got in the way.
I won't be putting a number goal for 2020.

I had to go back a few pages to find my list but it's coming along nicely!
1. Re-paint the master bath paneling (white) 2. Touch up walls in master bath and guest bath (blue) 3. Lay new tiles in the master bath (Dec 20th) 4. Cut back the rose bushes for winter Front yard Back yard - halfway done 5. Glue down all of the transition pieces (again) Hall/Guest bath Hall/Sewing Room Hall/Master bedroom Master bedroom/bath
6. Fix the porcelain chip in the bathtub 7. Paint the gold trim around the bathtub (white) 8. Replace the torn tile behind the toilet in the guest bath
9. Touch up ceiling paint as needed 10. Clean up all of the pots and containers on the side yard 11. Power wash the side yard, front porch and house siding 12. Do another coat of paint on the garage doors 13. Ask my cousin if I can store the Cadillac at their garage in January 14. Finish packing the garage and neatly stack the boxes 15. Work with realtor on staging for photos - meeting today
Now that we have sunshine again I am hoping to do the garage door today and then finish up the side yard cleaning. My mom is taking most of my old plastic pots for her garden and I've got to disassemble the compost bin so it can go in the trash. Once I the first trash can full of rose clippings I'll get out there to do the second half.
In January I think I'm going to budget around $150 to hire a housecleaner to come right before we go on the market and a gardener to clean up the yard.

Storage unit is empty. I scheduled the move out for today. I just need to call them once they open this morning. My entry way is a disaster but it's done.

Cleaned DS#2 bedroom last night. He had so much crap under his bed, we were laughing at some of the stuff we found. One whole trash bag of trash left his room. Clothes were put in the resale box and several items to take to Goodwill. It was a successful night. I told DS#1 his room is Jan 1.

I ended up getting about 700 things out of the house this year. You can't tell. I focused more on my health than decluttering this year, though they really do go hand in hand for me. Same with debt. I just posted on the 2020 thread. See you over there!

startsmart the floor is gorgeous! I love the tiles. And thanks for starting the 2020 thread! DS1 and DGS have been here since Sun so I haven't been doing much apart from the usual cooking/keeping up with the kitchen/laundry. Our cleaner is off for 3 weeks so we've been doing more cleaning than usual. I had to pick up a few things from the pharmacy but DS1 went for me.

We really have! Today we went to the park with a theater friend whose 4YO's birthday was today, then back to their house for birthday cake. DS1 went out so we're babysitting. We babysat last night too. I planned and shopped for a romantic dinner with DH. We are both so completely exhausted that neither of us wants to cook OR eat LOL.
I hope you are starting to feel better TheO.

The grief is still overwhelming. That's the only word to describe it.
I did get a sympathy card today from one of dad's very first employees when he ran the bowling alley. His mother wanted him to work for dad and told dad to keep him out of trouble. She was a single mom. Reading those words was so nice.
I think I have PTSD. There are images in my mind I can not unsee. Since the first one, I have been unable to sleep in my bed. I'm sleeping in the recliner.
I am eating. I don't think I ate a meal for a good 6 weeks before dad died.

Had a good realtor meeting last night and we got our plan in place. Decided to list in early February which works out because my dad is out of commission due to back pain and I have quite a few boxes to move out.
Backyard roses are mostly done but I filled up the toter and have to wait until it’s emptied Thursday. I have a brace on my wrist thanks to carpal tunnel so I’m waiting a few days before finishing up the bathroom floor.
Other than dealing with 4 deaths this year it’s been overall okay. Not selling my house this summer was frustrating but I’m looking forward to new challenges and continuing to try new things in 2020.
