I canceled the cleaning. I'm in such a fog that I can't get the place clean enough to get it cleaned.

Aww TheO. I guess I'm torn. Part of me thinks it's a shame because I know you would have enjoyed having a clean house, even if you didn't prepare as well as you usually do. I'm sure the cleaners would have been fine with that.
But you're under an IMMENSE amount of stress with your Dad and you need to do what you need to do. Hugs friend.

Just got another call from his former employer. The POA is not legible. Uh, I mailed a hard copy on Saturday. I doubt you have that yet.
Sure enough, she was going from the faxed copy.
I also told her that he is blind so what I mailed to them is all there is. Our legal department may require some other form. He can't sign it.

I have started to work on the kitchen. So realizing that I have multiple bottles of things I will be baking to get rid if the excess. Over the weekend I made 2 types of cookies - a shortbread and molasses so I managed to get rid of 1 bottle of molasses...Now on to the Karo Syrup - Maybe popcorn balls I have somehow managed to get 2.5 bottles and would like to get that down to just 1 bottle...I will be feeding work fairly often trying to empty some cupboards.

I'm regretting having said I'd go to Day 2 of the Job 2 seminar tomorrow. Today was a very long day, and then I had a 2.5h "rehearsal" on skype. I've been sick multiple times since I got home. Don't know if it's something I ate (catered lunch!) or a virus. I was planning to go to the mall after work tomorrow but I'm not sure I'll have the energy. This week (updated)- pick up packages/Thurs - mall (for P and M)? ETA: I emailed my bosses and told them I've been sick all evening and may not make it in tomorrow. Happily I only signed up for the morning.

My alarm went off at 6.30 and I just couldn't get up, so I called in sick. First time since I started teaching 10 years ago. It was for a meeting, not for a class. I slept till 8.30, took it easy this morning and now I feel fine. It must have been yesterday's lunch. This week (updated)- pick up packages/Thurs - mall (for P and M)/Thurs - supermarket/ThursI got lucky at the mall ... I returned 2 items and found the 5 items I needed in less than 2h. Kids arrive from the US tomorrow so I went to the supermarket. I'm not leaving the house again today. Tomorrow we pick up the kids! I'll pick up my first set of finals on the way to the airport.

One of the packages I picked up today was DS1's new duvet cover. It's on DS2's bed now. I brought up DGS's car seat from the basement for tomorrow. (I always worry about leaving for the airport without it.)
They are coming a week earlier than usual, which means I won't have even started my marking, let alone finished it. I don't want to mark when they're home, but they also visit family and friends so I know I'll have some time to mark.
This weekend - mark 18 Job 1 second-year exams
I want to get those done by Monday when I come home from work with 37 more finals. I'm only working Monday and Tuesday next week (besides marking).

DH has had a VERY busy week. I gave DH a short to-do list 2 weeks ago, and he had done NONE of it. The kids arrive tomorrow. So tonight DH - finally cleared off his "desk" (ie the kitchen table.)- filled in the speeding ticket saying that HE was driving, not me - put away the bag of clothes that has been in our bedroom for a month
So just two more items on DH's list, one of which is urgent ... the plug that has come out of the wall, because DGS. The other item is glueing a brick that fell off the fireplace, but that can wait.

Absolutely!!! DH is the World's Greatest Procrastinator, but he would never put DGS in any danger. He has promised to do it tomorrow morning before we leave for the airport, and I'm sure he will. I've been begging him for 2 weeks, but I trust him to do it before DGS arrives tomorrow. It's just so freaking stressful to have him leave it till the last.possible.minute.
I'm sure that fireplace brick will wait for 2 or 3 months LOL (unless I do it first).
DH's motto is "never put off till tomorrow what you can put off till the day after tomorrow". Seriously.

I think I’ve decided to stay home all month and see my parents in January to exchange presents. I have a lot of client and personal work to do and a few house projects.
Since there’s not a lot of decluttering to do I have bought the supplies to fix a chip in my bathtub, paint the gold surround and then RE-tile the floor (just peel and stick ones). That plus paint touch ups should keep me busy.
The front yard is finally looking nice with new grass coming in and the bushes I planted. I am slowly working on all the fabric in my living room (still) and sewing the pieces I need to finish my quilt.

Kids are here! I marked 6/18 essays while everyone was napping. They're going to my ex's tomorrow overnight, so I'll finish these exams while they're gone. I ran/emptied the dishwasher twice today. I'm not used to cooking several meals/day for 5-6 people anymore lol. I went to the supermarket yesterday, we all went today on the way back from the airport, then I had to go back again. I should be set for several days now. DD took the bunny to the vet, he's better but he needs more antibiotics. This weekend- mark 18 Job 1 second-year exams - pharmacy/Sat

ETA: TheO DH fixed that plug this morning as promised. DD came over for dinner. She wanted to say goodbye to DH who was reading a bedtime story to DGS and putting him to bed. DH was taking forever. DD finally left without saying goodbye to DH. Turns out DH and DGS were both fast asleep LOL.
These last few weeks since before my birthday have been a total whirlwind. I'm looking forward to things finally calming down.

Smallest of wins but I trashed 18 things from the garden which had fallen apart and were not worth donating. In the process, I also pulled out things to be washed up and packed and most of that is drying now.
I found 4-5 lbs of grass seed in my potting bench so I'm going to use that up before opening the new bag I just bought. The front yard is looking really nice, finally, and now I need to get the side yard looking great and the backyard decent.
All of my excess fabric is packed up now, I have some bundles to finish sewing but that can take place over a couple of months. Currently I need to finish the queen quilt (hopefully this month) and the binding on quilt #2 which I undid because I was unhappy with it.
Today has been very productive so far and my body is barely holding up. Long story short, I fell on Thursday night because I am 35 going on 88 and my hip and back and pretty bruised up. I am taking breaks to put ice and heat on it but it's still sore. Hoping that lots of movement will keep the muscles from locking up and help heal things up faster than lying in bed whining about it.
I'll get the final supplies for the bathroom refresh next week so until then I'd like to do the paint touch ups and maybe the porcelain fix on the bathtub. Then I'll be ready to do floors and paint the tacky gold trim around my bathtub.

Thanks nidea, I was betrayed by a no slip bath mat!
A few of the larger boxes I got for free will fit my large baskets so I’m working to pack those and the garden pots that are clean now.
