Count me in for the grinch group All of my Christmas stuff is in boxes 2 hours away and I have no desire to schlepp it home, unpack and decorate. Next year maybe. I did get some candles at the annual sale from bath and body works today because, again, all my candles are in boxes somewhere. This weekend I would like to finish going through my fabric and get it all put away, then make my comprehensive list for things that’s need to be updated and cleaned before the house goes back on the market in spring.

I bought a 4 foot artificial tree with lots of flocking and little while lights. I have it hooked up to my smart plug so I can direct Alexa to turn it on and off. Just now, I asked Alexa to play Christmas music.
If only I could direct Alexa to clean my house! But at least I can do it while basking in little white lights and Christmas music.

I didn't even leave the house today so nothing on the list got done. I did however find DD's main Christmas gift at Walmart for 2/3 of the price here. It's being delivered to DS1 who will bring it with him. So DS1 and DD are done! Just two more kids, their 3 SOs, DGS and DH left. DGS wants a bicycle so we'll have it delivered there in Jan, and just have a few small things here. Believe it or not, this is early for me! I always do my Christmas shopping at the last minute, because that's when I get the kids' wishlists. DS1 is the only child who gives me their list early, and I won't shop for Christmas without a list.
This weekend (updated)
- back up computer/Sat - call (another) A about stroller/Sun - bottle bank (again)/Sun - Shitepile - pharmacy The bottles are in my car, so at least they're out of the house now.

We had a short break in the rain so I got out the vacuum and cleaned the car. Some of the plants I bought a few weeks ago spilled soil so I needed to clean it up badly!
Stacked the spare wood in the garage and moved my saw so it’s easier to use. Some boxes are stacked out there and the empty ones are coming in so I can fill them up.
The grass seed I put down before thanksgiving is starting to come up! We should get enough rain this month that it won’t die out and I’m hoping for thick grass before the house is back on the market.

PS nikiz628 I generally don't work out of the house on Fridays, although I usually spend it marking. I INSIST on being able to spend one day a week in sweats or pjs. So I hope you enjoy your weekend in sweats!!! Good luck for the upcoming crazy week!

I just remembered I need to switch out DS2's and DS1's bedding. DS1 stayed three nights (2 of them VERY short nights), DS2 stayed one night, so I'm just washing their pillowcases and bottom sheets but not their duvet covers. It's all in the machine, I'll make up the beds tomorrow. ETA: DS1's duvet cover is old and frayed, I don't like that. It was originally DH's so I know I will never be able to get rid of it, but I can stick it in the basement along with all the other things DH refuses to get rid of.
I asked DS1 if he'd like the same duvet cover I got DS2 in dark grey, but in light grey. He was thrilled, so I ordered it.
So I spent 66 euros/$73 for two duvet covers and 4 pillowcases, you can't beat that price! They're not a very high thread count, but they're 100% cotton and neither DS stays over often, so their bedding won't get washed more than a few times per year. ETA 2: If anyone is interested, google La Redoute, Yacht. Dark grey for DS2's room/DH's office and light grey for DS1.

Well, I got about 3/4 of the stuff off of my computer desk/work area, & filed away. I'd prefer to keep going, but I should've started my Christmas cards way back around Thanksgiving, and am only starting on them now. So, once again decluttering will be going on the backburner until I get at least most of them done. I finally ordered my last item for Christmas, to be shipped to my relative, but it'll get there only a few days before Christmas. Fingers crossed that there won't be too many delays, so it'll make it on time. I've already had several delays on other items I'd ordered around Thanksgiving.

One thing I ordered for myself was probably a mistake price on Amazon. It was an Echo Dot and an Echo Show that was on sale for less than Amazon has been selling the Echo Show for. The Dot arrived today but the Show won't be here until after Christmas. It's all because of the sale and no big deal since it's for me.

I took some time and cleaned up my office. Eliminated a big trash bag full of shredded papers. I'm glad I did because our house appraiser showed up and took pictures of every room. Hopefully he'll come back with a good price for us.

No. We aren't moving. Just refinancing for a better rate. My mortgage guy offered me 3.5% (currently 4.125%) with only $300 in closing costs. It will save me $150 a month, so I couldn't say no.

- bottle bank/Sun
- descale coffee machine/Sun

Spending today doing laundry and changing the bedding for the drawer beds. They don't get used much but it's been a while. I reorganized the linen closet too, because as usual, things mysteriously get messed up/go missing.

I have one more Christmas card that I want to write in. It is going to my BFF's mother. My BFF died when we were 35. Our yearly connection through Christmas cards is very special to me. It must be to her mom since she always writes me a newsy note. I am happy that she is still able to live in her own home and wonder if she ever put air conditioning in. I was last there in the summer about 2005 and it was not air conditioned.
Then put stamps on and mail tomorrow.

Arm is still swollen and hurts from the injection but I am feeling much better than yesterday. I did manage to almost finish with the Christmas shopping. Only one GC left to get and I plan to pick it up when I get my car washed next week. Waiting until after the craft show to get the car cleaned out. I am continuing to add to the donation boxes and will be calling for a pickup soon. Almost have the last intended box filled as well as a few bags packed. Hope all of you are doing well.

moneysquirrel I'm impressed that you tutor ... I'm thinking that would be a great post-retirement job for me too! ;-) I hope they come out soon, water leaks are scary. debthaven -- I sort of fell into tutoring. I never intended to tutor but have been contacted by friends who knew someone was looking for a tutor and asked if I would be interested. This happened several years after my DH died and it filled up some of my "alone" time. Currently I have two students that another lady was tutoring and she decided that she couldn't work with them this year and asked me to take them if they continue to want a tutor. I tutor only when they need me. This month I know I will have a few sessions because our high schools have semester exams prior to Christmas break. My current intentions are to see these two through their high school courses and then not do it anymore. I do like that it keeps my skills honed and gets me out of the house a few hours at a time. The added benefit is that I tutor at the public library so I just drop off a few books that I want to donate as part of my decluttering goals when I go without making it a separate trip.

More stuff out of the attic. Some things donated; some jewelry given to niece; some thing trashed. Toys for Tots donation being dropped off today; I had a hard time finding a collection point for some reason.
Taking the dogs to the dog park as soon as my hair dries.

I worked on cleaning and decorating for Christmas this weekend.
DH took a bunch of cardboard to recycling drop off at the . He also did a bunch of shredding. He put his tools away in the basement.
The living room is in good shape. Just need ornaments on the tree. The kitchen/dining area is a work in progress. The far part of the room is a dumping ground for everything I don't know what to do with. I unpacked the Fiesta baking dishes and got those in the cabinets.
I put all of the cookie cutters in one bin all together and freed up space for some stuff on the kitchen cart.
I attempted to consolidate cleaning products but apparently Pledge multi surface is not meant to be opened.
I think I can finish the rest tonight and move the desk up against the wall making room for the new tree in front of the window. I'm trying hard to go through things and find them a home instead of dumping it all in the basement. We have enough stuff down there to deal with as it is.
I sorted a box of mail that was from the last time we had dinner guests. I also sorted all the mail on the kitchen table. I will change the tablecloth out for Christmas once I frost the cupcakes tonight.
I thought I would get a lot more done but at least it's progress. Once I get done downstairs I need to sort out the room I'm dumping Christmas gifts into.
3 more items went in the Goodwill pile.

This week (updated) - mall (gifts for DS2 + DDIL)/Tues - get tree/Tues
I finish at 2 tomorrow so I am planning to go to the mall after school. I know exactly what I want so it shouldn't take long.
The transit strikes are terrible here, with no end in sight. There are trains at rush hour but very few during the day, so I'll probably drive.

I had two of the original Amazon Echos--one upstairs and one downstairs--that I bought back in 2017. I sent them back a few months ago when I saw how often they were communicating (read: sending data about me and my habits) with their home servers. It was ridiculous. And the "mistaken" wake words were at a large amount. Here's the video that led me to decision to send them back. Edited to fix the video link.

This week (updated)- mall (gifts for DS2 + DDIL)/Tues - send Dec timesheet/Tues- get tree/Tues
- decorate tree/Tues
Finally got the tree AND decorated it. Because of the transit strikes (which are getting worse) the first rehearsal is here tomorrow night with the locals, and the director on Skype (he's in Paris).
ETA: And now half the (relatively) local cast has cancelled too, saying that they too would prefer to stay home and be on Skype, like the director. So we'll see. I'm in the same suburb as my friend M (who got a lead), so worst-case scenario it's just the two of us together. Best case scenario the rehearsal is cancelled.
