As bad as it all is, its hard for me to look at this thread and the original article as anything but a desperate attempt to deny reality. Even if we don't know for certain what Kavanaugh did in that instance, it already appears he's not one of those nice gentlemanly men in the past. People throw up bad arguments when they have nothing good to win with. Really all this displays to me is that they know their position is shit, but they hate losing so much they'll go with anything they think will make a difference.

As tempting as it is to us this yearbook stuff, it shouldn't be done. As I stated before they were kids. The 80's thats what was going on. 

This was all a ruse by the dems. She is not a victim but a pawn by the dems. It didn't work the way they hoped. Let the FBI investigate then get him confirmed. Ford will see how they are they will drop her like a bad habit and on to the next obstruction.

I was wondering about this, why the parents, grand parents, other family members or possibly teachers, had not noticed a behavior change, mood swings, common signs that something is stressing a child. 
Maybe, its a case of 'girls will be girls' being teenagers?

You just don't get it Value as neither do the conservative old farts who are on that committee...

Yes there is...when asked for a % of certainly how sure she was it was the Judge ..she replied 100%...and said it forcefully and yes he said the same later in the day...because he watched her testimony and then copied her response...very obvious...just another nail in his coffin..ail driven by himself.

I have no idea but her testimony was very compelling. I hope we hear more from the other guy. Maybe when the FBI gets involved they will be more forthcoming.

The whole situation will leave everyone tainted.  Might have been better for them to shove it through so we didn't know any of this stuff about him.  We also know he is biased and why they want him in.  Just makes it so bad for the democracy.  How much longer will we have it?

As to the comment in the OP article concerning Dr Ford's parents and siblings and support or lack of support ...

I read her brother Ralph , speaking on behalf of the family of origin ( himself , her other brother , her parents ), said that the family is supportive.  Both of the brothers live in the area  and are practicing lawyers , and a lower profile is hopefully helpful in avoiding those that might impact their families safety.

I think as the parents , I am not sure it is fair to read a lot into " not being out there ....."

I think it has to be extremely hard to be learning your child as a 15 year old had been the victim of a sexual assault.  The emotions have to be hard I think . And there is not a right way or wrong way to cope. There are all sorts of emotions with shame , guilt , rage , regret , agony.  I don't think making a judgement or speculation on the parents at a time like this is the best thing to do.

The father and the father of Brett were part of the same exclusive all mens social golf club group. I think could be a struggle as a father to wrap your mind around too. Then a parent looking back wondering why things did not click that something had happened years ago .... the reporting is that  " Chrissy " had significant anxiety d/o ptsd sxs ,  relationship difficulties , academic struggles , concentration difficulties , other things for the 4 years following the assault then the more chronic course of ptsd and comorbid sxs. during her lifetime to date.

They likely never looked into the why.  I don't know, seems like these parents were rather removed from the raising of their kids, I get the feeling they didn't know a lot about what they were doing.

So her 100% is believable but his isn't? So you are just discriminatory towards men?

And how is it people are convicted of crimes they didn't commit when there are eye witnesses that say he/she did do it?  Were the witnesses lying?
