She's beautiful! I love cats, I'd like to have a nice cuddly one. But now is not a good time.

Lucy is most cuddly. I could not survive without her. I think she knows it and takes full advantage of me.

She is a beauty. And that's what her purpose is: to take advantage of your love.

Here's Lucy: I love her! That is, I love Lucy Maggiecat has all the same colors but the markings are a little different. Her face is mostly white.

Lucy is in my lap now.
Last night when we went to bed, she curled up on my shoulder and stayed there for about an hour. She no longer sleeps all night in my bed. She has her own bed in a cat tree. She doesn't cuddle much any more in our bedroom.
She does get very loud and howls if I don't go to bed according to her schedule.

When it's bedtime according to her, she sits and looks at me until I cave and turn out the lights and head for the bedroom! She probably thinks she has to lie down with me until I go to sleep before she can curl up in her own spot. And woe unto me if I don't get up according to her schedule!

Physical abilities due to age, have been suprising to me. Country girl, they must be especially hard for you, because you are, have been, such an overachiever.
For some time, I have said I am motivationally challenged. This coronavirus hasn't helped.
Just like you have in the past, I think you will get past this. But it will take some time.
We are facing a new time, with new realities and challenges. We need to give ourselves time to adjust and adapt.
Hugs

My motivation is typically variable. The good thing for me about this pandemic is that I feel much less guilt about this. Staying in, watching tv or writing, are positives now. Braving the grocery store or pharmacy in a mask and with hand cleaner is heroic. But I do wish I could keep things cleaner than I manage.

I have zero motivation. Part of that is the lack of sleep and general depression that is worse because of the anxiety of the pandemic.
Like I said elsewhere, I have not been in a building besides my house for 35 days. I don't know when I will feel like it's safe to do so again.

It keeps my hands busy so I can channel my nervous energy. There is something really soothing about the repetitive motion.

I try to spend two hours a day working on my lifetime project knitted afghan. I'm only on the fourth skein of yarn and I have twelve. I have to focus on my counting so it keeps my hands and mind occupied. I'm glad this is for me. The mistakes I've made are horrendous! For myself that's OK. I'm not going to rip it all out and start again. I did that twice.

The little black one reminds me of my Smooches. She had a heart-shaped pattern on her chest.

ooooo! I'd take all of them if Maggie would agree. Look how sweet they are! Those little faces would cheer up the most depressed person in the world.

No change in motivation today. Still telling myself to get up and do something. Anything. It's now just after 4am and I haven't done a thing.
I'm beginning to think I might wake up one day, look in the mirror, and see a slug. LOL I know I feel like one.
Other than going out for groceries/prescriptions twice, and taking my garbage out, I haven't left my apt since March 7th. And no one has come to visit.
Leaving my apt has always been a struggle, but once I got out, I was okay. After spending such a long time at home, alone, I wonder how hard it will be when this is over.
I keep reading comments to articles, where people say things like, this virus is helping get rid of some of the over population. And comments about survival of the fittest. Wow. No concern for anyone but themselves and what they want. Apparently, people over 60, or with ailments, have no value. I find that incredibly sad.
Hope everyone has a decent day, today. (I actually hope it's better than that, but I'll settle for decent.)
I'm going to try again, to make to the grocery store and pharmacy.
*Cute kittens! ♡

toomuchreality Those comments make me so sad, too. I read one young man who said his grandma was disposable. Grandma is not disposable.

Oh, I want to know where he is so I can deliver a smackdown of epic proportions. If anyone is disposable, it would be him because of that attitude right there. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!

Yes, a man wrote that on the college sports forum I belong to. I wrote back to him that his grandma was not disposable. I wanted to add that he now was but refrained.

Depression is kicking my butt today. Been awake since 12:30 AM.
Finished therapy via Zoom and ran to town to pick up groceries. They are put away and I'm going to drink my tea and try to get sleep.
