The first day of Metabolism Revolution went well and when I stepped on the scales this morning I've lost just over a pound. I ran for the first time in months last night and thought I was going to collapse. I stopped my fitbit at 15.19 and when I looked at the distance discovered I'd only covered 1.25 miles . Don't know how I managed to get so unfit... well, I do really .

I averaged 1649 calories per day this week and maintained. I was lower at the end of last week and I'm hoping some of this is water weight since I started my period today, but we'll see. I hit my 300 minutes of exercise for the 2nd week in a row which is good and I averaged 67 grams of protein a day which is amazing for me. We haven't bought cereal since school started and I almost never go over on my sugar counts in MFP anymore. I don't get how MFP calculates their averages though. It says my average calorie intake was 1494 per day. I don't rely on their calorie counts for exercise, but even if I subtract out what it says I burned in exercise each day it doesn't make sense. It doesn't matter more than convincing me not to pay for premium but it stinks to have to hand calculate it each week. Oh, and as much for the kids as for me, but I'm experimenting with what I can add in to baking and such to up protein and fiber without the kids pitching a fit. I added brewers yeast to our pumpkin waffles and no one noticed, so I was able to increase those to 10 grams of protein each. I've added chia seeds to various muffins without complaint and today I made chocolate zucchini muffins with brewers yeast and hemp seeds that are pretty good but a little dry. I'll make some revisions for the next batch. I'm freezing the extra muffins and working on getting a stash of grab and go snacks that I feel better about feeding the kids (and that meet my goals too). I need more low carb breakfast ideas though. Ds might lose it if he has to eat another egg tomorrow. (I don't keep the kids or myself low carb, but the school serves breakfast at 8am and it is about a billion carbs and half as much fat so I want what they eat at home before school to not be made up of those 2 things). Do you mind sharing the recipes? Thanks. Of course, but I use cheats. The pumpkin waffles are my kids staple. I buy the krusteaz pancake mix. 2 cups pancake mix 1 can pumpkin 1 egg 1 cup cold water 2 tablespoons brewers yeast chocolate chips (optional of course, but they like dark chocolate chunks and a little goes a long way) Bake in waffle iron for 5 minutes. The chocolate zucchini muffins need some definite work, but I start with a chocolate cake mix, and then use the zucchini in place of the oil and water. So it was chocolate cake mix, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons brewers yeast, and 3 tablespoons hemp seeds. However next time I need to shred the zucchini smaller (the kids are being super picky), and I think add some more liquid. They were a bit too dry. I'm tempted to try adding greek yogurt, but I have no idea how well that will work. I have some recipes to make my own mixes which I'm hoping to do soon. I can't ever seem to bake from scratch, but from a mix makes it seem easy.

I got up before work this morning and made it to the gym. It's been SOOO long since I've had the energy to do that. I'm so happy with my progress just over the past week. My head feels better, my energy levels are up, I'm eating slightly better. Thank god for a doctor who listened to me and didn't give me grief when I asked to change medication due to the side effects.

Blended 2 cups shredded zucchini with about a 3/4 cup greek yogurt, and then added that to the above (threw in an extra egg too). They came out quite a bit better. Still a lot of sugar, and about 280 calories each so not a small snack, and for 14 muffins MFP shows 7 grams of protein. Not terrible, but easy to overdo on them too. The kids liked them this time. Lol. They'll work for snacks between school and activities. Play rehearsal is right after school and they don't have time to eat anything substantial. I need to work on my own mixes and try to reduce the sugar.

This week I averaged 1328 a day in calories (Technically my goal is 1400 a day--I had 4 days under, 2 days super high, and 1 just about right). I'm down 3.5 pounds. I hit 360 minutes of exercise which includes some pretty generous time at the pool with the kids, but I'm comfortable that was all time moving and working something.
I graded, so I got my first gray belt which I have to say I'm ridiculously proud of.
I'm really going to sit down this week and try to work out some better habits. I leave all of my homework for Thursday night and the weekend which means I end up with late nights and late night snacking, plus being super tired the next day which leads to not great choices. I need to work in 1 hour a day on homework during the week and up to 3 hours a day Saturday/Sunday. No more cramming. Cut down on distractions, waste less time.
I'd also like to get up early enough to do a 10 minute workout and ideally another 10 minutes of stretches most days. But we'll see.

I'm still just clinging on - maintaining rather than losing, but I'm maintaining at a size 10, which is fine with me. I need to get back in the pool at least once this week. 60 min on bike each day at work.

I'm down since January 25, 2018 I was 58.3 kg or 128.53 lbs to now today May 17, 2018 54.4 kg or 119.93 lbs. I'm thinking it's the bloating that was adding the weight on, plus I'm on the mend now. I'm down some more, and I'm kinda shocked I've gotten to this point just changing my eating habits and drinking more water. I still use the Simply Fit board. I got weighed down at the hospital today and I'm currently 47.8kg or 105.38 lbs. So that's another 14.55 lbs gone! I'm down some more, I got weighed today down at the hospital and I'm currently 44.2kg or 97.44 lbs. So since January I've lost 14.1 kgs or 31.09 lbs. I still do the plank exercises and I drink a lot of water. BUT I have noticed something different, I'm smaller in the ribcage area and I went from a 38C to a 34B bra. The stomach rolls the lower one is gone and the upper one is diminished. I need to keep exercising/eating right, but I don't want to lose too much more weight. I need to tone my body now.

I need to stop eating crap and get my life together. I work out a ton, but am still managing to gain weight. I'm going to have to make better choices. A lot of it has to do with not wanting to cook. I think fish or chicken with veggies will just have to be my new jam. I can steam a bag of veggies and cook a fillet of fish in no time. I just have to do it. I also need to be mindful of carbs.

I'm going to tell you all now, I stopped snacking in between meals. I eat no snacks at all since January, and well I've lost 31 lbs. I don't drink carbonated drinks either, just water and teas.
And I was a major snacker, oh geez one portion didn't do a thing for me, more like 3 or 4 times that. What done it for me, I had a major gut bleed this past January after a chips, chip dip and Cola blowout.
I'm an all or nothing type person.

Snacks can be good, do long as you're snacking on the right foods. I clearly am not. I drink unsweetened flavored seltzer water instead of soda. That or just plain flat water. I do have green tea usually in the morning. My downfall is this office! It has a cafeteria full of treats and there is always a food day here!

I thought you wanted to gain? Like, you were trying to gain muscle on your upper body? Because of course that's going to increase your weight too. What I'm doing lately and is working very well for me: - Breakfast: Protein bar - During the day: Literally whatever I want to put in my face (plus lots of veggies from salad bar at work so I make sure I'm getting enough veggies) - Dinner: Protein bar or shake That's it. Losing weight. Not having to think too much about it. Do you like eggs? There's a ton of egg/veggie dishes that are quick easy and healthy dinners. But that only works if you like eggs.

J need to make my waist smaller while also making my arms bigger. I love eggs and have started eating more of them. But you can only eat so many eggs before you go nuts.

If you're looking for different ways to cook eggs, shakshuka is great (and you can reheat a few nights in a row with new eggs.)

Getting back on the wagon. I crossed a line with my weight ad the fit of my clothes that I never wanted to cross again. Too little exercise, and too much wine and sharing of the sweets that I've been getting for my kids (goodbye chocolate doughnut holes with chocolate frosting and sprinkles!). I may even go back to MFP, even though it's a pain in the ass, and I know what I need to eat.
(Well, look at that! Spellcheck doesn't like the new, lazy way to spell donut!)

I grading up in my weapons class too! All 4 of us would be grading up next month except that the date conflicts with ds play, so ds, dh and I will postpone and we'll have to figure out dd but I don't think we'll have her wait.

Last night instead of a usually craptastic dinner, I had tilapia and veggies. This morning for breakfast I had eggs and toast. Lunch was a turkey sandwich on a bagel (small steps) and fruit. Tonight is baked chicken, brown rice and zucchini and yellow squash.
I've been doing the same gym routine all along, but I'm jogging on the treadmill tonight. I loathe the treadmill, but running makes you skinny, so I'll do it.
I also had about 110 calories worth of pretzels as a snack. I may have some almonds before the gym today just so my sugar doesn't nosedive halfway through the gym routine.
I'm also taking both walking breaks today. On the last one now.

So I ran a mile on the treadmill tonight. I hated every minute of it, but I did it. I'm getting this extra tummy off if I have to run every day.
I feel like I also need to make the disgusting loose skin around my tummy looser if I'm going to get a tummy tuck. I really need to get busy finding a doctor and having a consult so I know what to do/expect. I think it would motivate me a bit more too.

Today was my birthday, so I decided to do something stupid. I spent all day eating carbs, then went to the pool and swam 100 yards for every year I've been alive. Over 2 miles.
This amounted to approximately 4x the amount I've been swimming recently, as I've been trying to work myself back up to longer distances. It might actually be the longest I've ever swum.
Didnt push my pace ace at all, just slow and steady, and got it done and didn't die. My leg cramps tonight are gonna be terrible though I bet. Oh well - I'm a badass swimming lady, that's what I am!

I’m finding it impossible to low carb and low cholesterol I get my cholesterol checked regularly since heart attacks/high cholesterol run in my dad's side of the family. I was worried the low carb/high-ish fat eating would make mine shoot up, but it hasn't. I found that really surprising.
I haven't been checking in much. I'm maintaining my weight and doing more hiking, so that's all to the good. I really need to get back on the weights for my arms though, because my nicely toned shoulders aren't looking so nicely toned anymore.

The physical therapy I’ve been doing for my right side sciatic nerve has finally broken through! I can walk for more that 15 minutes again. I haven’t had to take pain meds in two weeks. I did real cardio three times last week—including today. It wasn’t great cardio, but it was an actual sustained 30-minutes of walking.
