Not sure if anyone has said it yet but I don't get why people are so in love with iPhones. I can't understand spending $600 - $700 on a stupid phone. My phone died a couple of days ago and I bought a new one last night. I spent $150 on a Moto Gen 4 and was pissed about spending that much! I've spent as little as $50 and as much as $580 on phones. I haven't bought an iphone yet. I don't want to update all my chargers and have to buy a new phone every year. For me it's about the camera. I have wee ones and take a lot of pics. Toddlers don't like to sit still for pics so a quick shutter is key. Carrying a separate camera everywhere just isn't practical. My phone service is only $30/month so I figure it averages out over 2 years. The thing that confuses me is the people who get middle of the road phones through contract carriers and pay $70+/month for service. It's not that expensive to buy the phone outright.Yep, I buy my phone outright and use Ting. My monthly bill is usually $26-$36 a month so buying the phone is a way better deal.

No it's not because what if I want to upgrade? That is exactly what I had someone tell me when I asked why the hell would you pay to rent a phone? You've paid more than the phone is worth by the time you are done, especially if you keep rolling it over so you can have the latest and greatest. I currently have an LG phone from Cricket. Got the phone for $60 upfront and my plan is $45. Way better deal. Yet another thing I don't get apparently.

It was about $600 for each of them, and both are still going strong. Since we bought outright from Apple, they are unlocked and we went with Ting. So together, we paid $1200 for 2 phones with a $40/mo phone bill. $2600 for phones and service for 3 years for 2 phones. We also are able to use our unlocked phones overseas by buying another SIM card and plan. In France, it cost $40..... Africa was $25. In both cases, we left phone minutes and data on the table when we went home (we bought the cheapest plan).

Aren't all the latest smart phones around the same price - not just Apple? The latest Samsung Galaxy is more expensive than the phone 8 and closer to the Apple X. I have been looking at new phones and all of them seem to be priced very high.

I have been looking at new phones and all of them seem to be priced very high. They are all pretty ridiculously priced, it just seems like iphone users do a lot more "upgrading." This, of course, is just what it appears like to me personally. I could completely be wrong. The people I know who have iphones seem to want the latest and greatest, and seem willing to drop several hundreds of dollars quite often. I don't care about having the latest and greatest. I want cheap...

My son has the original phone 4, so we are looking to upgrade that - so I don't think all iphone users want the latest and greatest There are always people who like their new stuff, but it takes me years to get used to all the features of a phone and I don't want to give up that knowledge.

I pretty much just use my phone for texting and talking. I have a surface for work and that is what I mainly use to check emails, etc. Occasionally I hop on my phone to see what time a movie starts or something if I am out and about with a friend but between my kindle and my surface I just don't use my phone that much for surfing the internet. I used to play candy crush and animal rescue on my phone but had to stop. I was becoming too addicted

I have my work email, personal email, skype, whatsapp, music, photos etc. etc. Even if I don't use it everyday - its very helpful when I travel and can keep in touch with work and home. My calendar is synced with my work and personal stuff and if it is not there, then it's not happening.
Lately I have been using twitter a lot, since I get all my local updates quickly. When we had fires close to our homes 2 months ago, the Fire and Police depts were updating the status constantly, and letting us know of evacuations and such whereas the local TV stations were all showing NFL.

We bought the most upgraded technology at the time (I think iPhone 6 came out in Sept 2014, we bought in Nov the same year) so our phones are 3 years now. Last night at dinner we were talking about when they'd need to be replaced and have no intention of replacing them until they croak....just like we did with our flip phones.

LOL! I read 50 Shades while I was drugged to the gills in the hospital (in fact, it was the first I downloaded onto my new iPad). I went back and tried to finish it, and couldn't. I guess the lesson here is you need to be strung out on narcotics to get through it. Did you know if you edit out the naughty bits of the commercials and then run them side by side with a Twilight commercial you can't tell the difference. I discovered this when I was half watching TV and saw the bit where I guess Christian saves Anatasia in an alley. For one horrified moment I thought they were releasing a new Twilight movie. That makes total sense since it's Twilight fan fiction.

They are in love here with Apple so my work computer is one. I must be the stupidest person on the planet because I cant see how its so much more streamlined and user friendly than a PC. It makes me long for the annoying paper clip guy that used to pop up asking if you need help. I liked the paperclip guy! And I loved it when the version came out were you could turn him into a little dog or cat and keep it up on your screen while you worked. It made work a lot more fun to have a little dog buddy sitting in the corner of your screen, napping until you needed it, then wagging its little tail and offering helpful suggestions. I miss the little dog. Now I'm sad.

DH and I do have iPhones but we don’t need the latest or greatest. DH’s phone is 3 years old while mine is 2.5 years old. We plan to keep them until they break.

That makes total sense since it's Twilight fan fiction. I know that and it at least partially explained why I hate the book so much. It also explained why the writing was piss poor. I know there is some excellent fan fiction out but 50 Shades of Grey sure isn't on that list.

Avatar is Fern Gully only with blue aliens instead of fairies.
It was cool to see it in 3D at the Imax, the graphics are spectacular. I have no desire to watch it on TV though, the plot isn't enough to keep me engaged.

I'm loving my iPhone. I have the 6S and I plan to keep it till it stops working.
Ting is not an option as long as it's associated with Sprint. Sprint doesn't get a signal where I live.

Winter - I want to be done with you. 100 degree heat. Pilates. Any alcohol drinks. Liver. Golf and fishing are sidelined. Most running/cardio.
A lot of people I wish I had never met.

Curb Your Enthusiasm. I just don't get it. My husband loves it but I can't get through 5 minutes of it. The guy is so annoying he would never have anyone invite him anywhere so most of the shit that happens on the show would be a moot point.

Doctor Who. I know there are a bunch of different doctors and reboots to choose from, but I'm just not interested enough by what I've seen to keep trying.
