"I am a female . I voted for Trump because I want a man who isn't a shriveling wussy and who will actually deal with issues rather than pretend and hide from them. Thanks sooo much Michelle! Sorry your husband was unable to fill that bill!" And you got a toddler who just discovered Puerto Rico was an island. Whose idea of "dealing" with issues is to tweet stupid things in the middle of the night. Who bragged about sexually assaulting women. Congratulations. When did he do that? I never heard it. ETA: please note, I don't disagree with anything but the bolded. The other two... yeah, that's Trump.

I appreciate you taking the time to provide additional context, but the substance of the comments is still the same. If you don't vote the way we think you should you're voting against your own self interest. Or you aren't voting the way you should be voting because your dad talked over you as a girl, not because you legitimately didn't like Hillary or liked Trump or his policies. Either way, it's extremely patronizing, and I'm surprised you don't see it as such. She should have just said that it's not in women's best interest to vote for a pu$$y-grabber if they want to be treated with respect. Please cut it out with the name-calling. We all know what Trump said. It was stupid and disrespectful. It's not made any better by repeating it ad nauseam. It's old and it's tired. Thanks. mmhmm, Politics Moderator

And Trump won. He only won tbe EC. He was rejected by the majority of the voters. Yeah, that's called WINNING THE PRESIDENCY. See when you have a contest or election, you set up rules prior to it. That's how the real world works. You don't get to then change the rules after the fact because you don't like how it turned out. Well, actually that is what some are always trying to do. But, the funny thing is if you have some knee jerk reaction and try to change the rules, then later on that usually doesn't work out so well in a different race either.

A "charming" man says the right thing at the right time. But, it's not what a man says, it's what he actually does. A man who follows through has character. I think "charming" is a good description of a lot of men in politics. They say things that please, but have no plans to follow through on those promises.

This is the type of language the President introduced into the narrative himself, and continues to use to this day, (i.e, SOB). This is the first time I've ever encountered that the standard of language used to talk about someone has to be way higher than the standard they use themselves and about others. So, if the PG is offensive to someone, perhaps they should ask themselves why the SOB is not.

Heck, I detest the man but that particular garbage is offensive to me and I'm sure I'm not alone. Thing is, it's a dead (very, very dead) issue that isn't helped by repetition. That's all I was saying.

From his appointments and nominations, to his political activity, to his treatment of his wife, the man exhibits nothing but distain for Americans who are neither white nor male. I will not stop the reminders of his continuring disgusting behavior. And anyone who continues to support him are revealing themselves for exactly what THEY are.

I said going around the censor to use an offensive epithet is a dead issue. It's been more than overused. If you want to point out his proclivity for disrespecting women, have at it. Just don't do it the way it's been being done. I believe that should clarify it enough.

I think people, especially self-professed Christians, need to be reminded who this man who they staunchly defend really is. He is the offensive one. I don't believe it's offensive to point that out. He loves to offend. He has no qualms about offending. When Michelle Obama tried to tip-toe around with her answer here, in order to not offend, she was misinterpreted. Had she said what she really meant, she would not have been. There'd still be people who hate her, because the name Obama is like blood in the water for a shark to some people.

I'd rather know up front a person is a jerk than invest my time then find out. I didn't expect trump to have charisma, he's definitely not whereas obama is/was and so many were taken in.

(Because changes don't take affect right away.) After that first year, the new administration gets credit for whatever is happening, good or bad.

The stock market is up, the economy is growing and wall prototypes are underway! Yet no mention by that poster about the near tripling of the stock market under Obama after her BushCo. trashed the economy. No mention about the 10 million jobs. Just completely dishonest about the success of Obama. Makes one question a person's intelligence, because it can't be about Obama being Black..
www.factcheck.org/2017/01/what-president-trump-inherits/
Jobs & Unemployment
Jobs — The economy has added nearly 2.2 million jobs in the most recent 12 months. It has gained jobs for 75 straight months – the longest streak on record.
President Barack Obama was not so fortunate. When he took office, the economy had already lost 4.4 million jobs in the preceding 12 months.
During Obama’s first 13 months, the economy continued to shed another 4.3 million jobs. But as Trump enters office, employers are eager to hire millions more. The number of job openings continues to hold at near record levels.
The most recent figures show that as of the last business day in November, there were more than 5.5 million unfilled job openings — double the number in the month Obama took office in 2009.
The highest ever recorded in the nearly 16 years the Bureau of Labor Statistics has tracked this figure was in April 2016, when job openings topped 5.8 million. The figure has now been above 5 million every month for 22 months in a row.
Unemployment — Obama also leaves Trump an unemployment rate that is well below the historical norm.
Currently it stands at 4.7 percent. In all the months since 1948 the median jobless rate was 5.6 percent.
Thus Trump has been dealt a far better hand than Obama, who took office when the jobless rate was 7.8 percent and rising. It hit a peak of 10 percent in October of Obama’s first year.

I read it as she was saying that any woman who voted for trump was doing it because they were unable to think independently. She basically insulted the 42% of the female population who voted for trump. Michelle believes she knows better and thinks all women should have voted for Hillary.

And Trump won. He only won tbe EC. He was rejected by the majority of the voters. For those who don't know/understand the elective process for a presidential election in the US. The US president is elected by the Electoral College. Both candidates were playing by the same rules as in every other presidential election in the US. The candidate who gets the most Electoral College votes win the election. You stating that he "only" won the EC is ignorant. It's the "only" thing that's required. Anything else doesn't apply. This election was a definitive answer to no more of the same, after 8 years of a progressive lefty ideologue.

I got irritated with a study the other day that said that white, married women voted for Trump because they were concerned about their husband's jobs and their families first and weren't standing in solidarity with other women. No mention of the fact that if you are a single mom who voted Democratic you were probably also voting in your own financial interest rather than standing in solidarity. And what about married, white women who voted for Clinton - did they not care about their husbands and families first? It felt condescending and rude. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/sep/25/white-women-husbands-votingIt is absolutely ridiculous that a woman should be expected to vote for someone just because they have a vagina...or else you are selling out other vaginas! This is exactly why I will never consider myself a feminist. I am probably more of a feminist than most women who claim to be feminists (I love the ones who can't even support themselves but claim to be feminists while relying on a man to financially support them!) but I do not align myself with them or their causes. I am a strong, capable woman who doesn't have to bitch, whine or cry when I don't win or get my way...or god forbid another woman doesn't agree with my way of thinking! I don't see toxic men everywhere. I don't think everyone is out to get me just because I have a vagina.
I also realize the above description is not of all feminists...but it is definitely a lot more than I would like to see.
I voted against liberal ideology. If someone doesn't like that or thinks less of me because of it...well, they are probably people I don't actually give a shit about anyway

Maybe not because a candidate had a vagina (and how many voted against her because she did) but that her opposition had such a tarnished history in dealing with women...a deposition that he raped his own wife, his own comments that he grabbed vulvas, sleazy entering into dressing rooms of underage beauty pageant contestants, infidelity, just general misogynistic ickiness.
