it's actually a pretty heart-wrenching series. Most working wives and mothers have a hard enough time balancing our work and home responsibilities - I can't imagine the types of choices you'd have to make as a wife, mother, and queen of a nation. I felt sad for her AND Phillip. They were so happy before she became queen. That's what I got out of it also. I just new the queen as pretty much figure head who had an easy life, but gained a lot more respect for her after the show. I hope they do another season. the new season is coming in December I think.

I can't wait for the next season of the Crown. As time passes I can see the story line getting more and more interesting. As an added bonus, I sometimes get to see a couple of Cogis

Thanks all, I need to find my own show I can watch when my wife is cleaning or whatevs
The problem is every time I start something, my wife walks in and starts watching with me, and then I can't watch the next episode while she's not around (or cleaning or whatevs)
Happened with Unbreakable Kimmy, Master of None, Jessica Jones and now I started re-watching old Game of Thrones DVDs (re-watching from season 1 fwd and now she's into that with me too.....)

Do you like documentaries or true crime stories? If so then give Captive a try. Each episode covers a true crime regarding hostage/kidnapping situations. I watched the first episode last night and found it very interesting, and since each episode is different there is no need to wait until your wife can watch it.

I'm going to have to try Grace and Frankie now. I think it took a couple of episodes to find its footing but after that, I fell in love with the show...I binged watched all three seasons in a couple of weeks...I can't wait for the next season to come out

Finished season 2 of The Crown on Sunday. I thought this season was even better than the 1st.
Finished Dark last night. LOVED IT, though the English dubbing was kind of bad. My friend said she preferred watching it with subtitles. I watch a lot of stuff with subtitles but I REALLY needed to pay attention to everything that was happening on this show and didn't feel like I could do that with subtitles.

I don't really like watching TV by myself, so I always try to find shows that my wife will like. This has proven to be pretty difficult because she really only likes touching family drama type shows (This is Us, Parenthood, etc), Comedies, or action shows that aren't too violent.
This rules out a lot of shows, so we've been re-watching a lot of the office. We've also watched shows like Suits, Royal Pains, and White Collar. Currently we're in a little bit of a drought on TV shows though. I think the problem is that she likes sleep more than she likes mediocre TV shows.

I finished GLOW last night. I was very iffy about watching this show but ended up liking it. I am also enjoying The Indian Detective.

I've been watching the US version of Shameless on Netflix. It is a 'dramedy' about a f-ed up family in Chicago. Lots of cursing, drugs and sex scenes I really love that show. I grew up around families damn near that dysfunctional (the small town version) so even though it's pretty out there sometimes, I can actually relate to it more than a lot of family shows. I feel for those kids so much. I had friends that gave up their youth to care for siblings because their parents were losers.

I have seen girls exactly like her though. They have lots of potential but when they hit their teens they just start making some really stupid choices.

I really enjoyed Stranger Things. There is another show called Travelers, with Eric McCormack that I also liked. House of Cards is good also. Right now, I am watching Ozark. I think Jason Bateman is outstanding in this show, but I am soooo tired of the "F" word in every sentence. There are many shows I quit watching just because I get tired of all the cursing. I am not a prude, but jeez, come on. After a awhile, it detracts from the storyline (for me, anyway). OK, rant over. I have seen all the Marvel shows. I liked Daredevil best. I hear ya. Some stuff just gets old after awhile. I just watched People vs O.J. because I hadn't seen it before. All Cuba Gooding does in the movie is scream and yell. It got on my nerves after awhile.
The Ranch. Because I like listening to Sam Elliott talk. New season will be without one of the main characters as he got axed in the sexual abuse sweep.

Revenge on Hulu. Drama with a bit of mystery - I'm on season 3 and still not sure who the real bad guys are or their motives. Lots of plot twists that I haven't seen coming. One of those shows that I will be very sad to finish.

Retribution on Netflix is a good mini series. Only 4 episodes.
I just finished the final season Bates Hotel last night.

This is what I was able to compile. The '?'s represent unknowns, and the '(?)'s represent guesses on my part. The list is sorted alphabetically. 13 Reasons Why - "drama about a girl who kills herself" Alias Grace - ? American Horror Story - Horror (?) Anne With an E - ? Archer - An archer (?) Atypical - "about a high functioning boy with Autism" Bates Motel - Killer (?) Breaking Bad - Man cooking and selling methamphetamines The Crown - "insights into the life of Queen Elizabeth's early life" Captive - "a true crime regarding hostage/kidnapping situations" Curious and Unusual Deaths - ? Dave Chappelle - Comedian (?) David Blain - ? Dexter - Serial killer The Do Over - ? GLOW - ? Grace and Frankie - "Two older ladies find that their husbands are gay and want to be together" House of Cards - Political corruption, murder, betrayal The Indian Detective - Crime procedural (?) Intelligence - "a major marijuana drug seller and his trials and tribulations" Jessica Jones - ? Kevin Heart - ? The Killing - "Murder show" (crime procedural, like "Law and Order"?) Longmire - "Police drama set in Wyoming" Luke Cage - ? Master of None - ? Mindhunter - "about FBI profiling serial killers" Night Shift, ER - Medical drama similar to 'ER' (?) The Office - Comedy about office life Orange is the New Black - Drama about a women's prison (?) Ozark - Man laundering money for drug cartel People vs O.J. - O.J. Simpson trial (?) Preacher - ? The Ranch - ? Rectify - "teenager sentence[d] to death row for a murder/rape he did not commit" Retribution - ? Revenge - ? The Ridiculous 6 - ? Santa Clarita Diet - ? Shameless - "An f-ed up family in Chicago. Lots of cursing, drugs and sex scenes." Stranger Things - "about aliens and/or the supernatural", "more 'horror' genre homage" (similar to "The X-Files"?) ("The Outer Limits"?) Transporter The Series - ? True Memoirs of an International Assassin - Assassins (?) Unbreakable Kimmy - ? Voltron Legendary Defender - ? The Walking Dead - Zombies (?) I encourage anyone to reserve, copy, fill in as many unknowns as they can, paste, let somebody else reserve, etc. until all the blanks are filled. My wife and I are interested in finding some shows we can watch together. "The Crown" looks like it might be interesting, based on the description. We're generally looking for something without much on-screen violence (occasional police shoot-outs, car crashes, etc. are fine), with likable, moral protagonists, and without cruelty, profanity, smut, or homosexuality. Also, something that doesn't make fun of Christians or religious people would be a big bonus. Otherwise, the sky's the limit. Some examples of shows we've liked: "The West Wing", "Law and Order", early seasons of "The X Files", "Wolf Hall", "The Closer", "Forensic Files", "Star Trek: TNG", "Star Trek: Voyager", "The Outer Limits", "Face Off", "Meerkat Manor", nature documentaries, etc. Which of the Netflix shows above might fit the bill? (With thanks in advance for all assistance.)

(With thanks in advance for all assistance.) Well, probably not many of those listed above though you might like Longmire and The Crown. Here are some others you might try: Doc Martin - Surgeon with a horrible bed-side manner becomes a small town GP Death in Paradise - London detective gets assigned to a Caribbean island police department (can't remember why or how). Very lighthearted murder mystery show. Doctor Blake Murder Mysteries - Australian show set in the 1950's (maybe 40's but I think 50's). Another lighthearted mystery type show

For those with Hulu, there is a new show called The Looming Tower based on true events leading up to 9/11. Interesting and disturbing...

Yeah, I was not happy about the replacement either but I ended up getting used to him. DIP is one of my "bedtime" shows (all the ones I listed for Virgil are). I don't like to watch anything too intense right before bed so I watch something lighthearted starting around 9:30PM. I haven't started Alias Grace yet but it is on my list. I watched the first episode of Seven Seconds last night. I like it but the way it played out made my stomach turn. I am interested to see where it goes...

ugh, I am soooo binge watching The Crown on Sunday! I am pacing it out, as I don't want to wait too long for the next season. Anyone knows when the new season is starting?

I just recently started watching Gossip Girl. Apparently, a show about rich teenagers who act like they are 23 is what has been missing in my life
