www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-climatechange-trump-idUSKBN18R1J4This makes me so incredibly angry. It's short sighted. It has the potential to hurt our economy. What makes me most sad is that the administration is far more concerned with keeping a very small vocal minority happy than they are of doing the right thing for both this country and the world. Merkel really is the leader of the free world now.

The rest of the planet is on board.

Trump doesn't have a clue what he's doing and has surrounded himself with no nothing yes men. He fired all the experience people in the EPA, justice, foreign affairs, etc. No diplomat in China, Japan or South Korea. Like that's an area that isn't important now? He drained the swamp and filled it with family and friends who don't have a clue either.

Wait, Ken. I'm sure I read somewhere that the "adults are now in charge" and that the now marginalized coastal region alt-left radical Marxists of the Democrat party, their deep state operatives. swamp dwelling bureaucratic stooges, and fake news outlets of the media elite have been vanquished.

covfefe and mknbibou. I won by the largest margin in history. I'm doing what I said I would. Just have to get more Goldman Sachs people and lobbyists here. I wish my son was old enough to hold an office.

That's what you get when congress doesn't ratify the treaty, and if you can get congress on board it was a bad treaty to begin with.

Yes, we can still reduce emissions. Pretty sure trumps administration won't commit to it.
The bigger issue is continuing to tell our allies fuck you.

Trump has hitched his wagon to Syria and Nicaragua....excellent company! The rest of the planet is on board. There is a reason those two countries did not sign. Nicaragua wanted there to be financial penalties for countries not meeting their goals. The other countries said no so Nicaragua said they would not sign. Syria was in and still is in the middle of a war. Too focused on war to worry about the environment.

As for pulling out of the agreement, I am thoroughly disgusted with trump and several of his advisors.

Now is not the right time to become isolationist.....and for many reasons ie wealth, trade, security, globlisation .....
and climate change is a crisis that all of us are facing. The leading Nations should be showing us the way.... not pulling up the drawbridge.
It would take many years to reinvest in coal/powered electricity and make it start paying for itself and Trump doesn't have that time.... A new President will be in place who would likely overturn this decision... as climate change gets worse. ....and because its a very bad idea.
In any case... the US didn't commit to that much in the first place....so its pure politicking.

I have a great idea!
Instead of building a wall, Trump should build a dome over the USA.
That way, they can choke on their own greenhouse gases.
You know, the imaginary greenhouse gases that contribute to the nonexistent climate change hoax.
Naturally, the US wants nothing to do with the Paris Accord.
It's like asking a serial child molester if he wants to join an alliance advocating harsher penalties for paedophiles.
The US is one of the greatest emitters of greenhouse gases, despite having less than 5% of the global population.

where's the cost/benefit analysis of the Paris accord, both all up and by country? we should never sign something without their being a big old positive number in the US column. Cost? Developing new industries. Benefit? A world not under water. i think those are pretty good odds. But, what is the cost of pulling out? Trump looks like even more of a spineless feckless idiot who is led by his radical advisors. This is by far the worst and most selfish thing Trump has done. I pray the world stands together against him. i only take small comfort in knowing that the decision can't even go into effect until November 4, 2020. The day after Election Day. I just hope that a new president can get us back in.

Yes, about 2000 sq. mi. of ice. Wonder how much water that equals as it melts? I'd love to shove it right up on the beach at Mar-a-Lago and let it melt there!
