www.wptv.com/news/national/hospital-employees-removed-after-taking-disturbing-photos-of-newborns-calling-them-mini-satansAnd just because we don't have enough issues here... JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFTS) - Hospital employees from the Naval Hospital Jacksonville have been removed from patient care after disturbing photos involving newborns went viral on Monday.
The viral post, that has been shared more than 185,000 times, shows screenshots taken from the employees' Snapchat accounts. In the images, the employee is seen sticking up her middle finger to a newborn, captioned with "How I currently feel about these mini Satans." The post also explains that in one of the Snapchat screenshots, the "navy nurse" and her friend held up the baby, making the baby dance to rap music.
So....these yutzes work at the Naval Hospital and post on Snapchat. And of all the patients they decide to take on, it's babies. Helpless little humans who have no say in any of this. Did these moron actually think no one would see this, react to it and turn them in? Thanks. Just a big fat thanks for making us look especially crappy today. And for making the noble profession of nursing look like the nutso wing of the main wacky ward. This is really worse than a DUH. This is more like a DUH and I wanna beat you with the pointy end of something big. Like a backhoe.

Some people are idiots. I didn't realize this was posted here so I started a thread in Current Events. In spite of HIPPA training there are always some idiots who think posting pics of patients or parts of patients on social media is a fun thing to do.

I'm surprised that there isn't more outrage. I know people do dance their young kids to music, but do they really do this in the first few days of life?

www.wptv.com/news/region-st-lucie-county/port-st-lucie/couple-arrested-for-drugs-after-passing-out-with-toddler-and-overflowing-tub-in-hotel-roomA couple was arrested on drug charges in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday after they were found passed out in a hotel room with a toddler and an overflowing bathtub.
Arrested were Casey Lynn Shaffer, 19, of Fort Pierce for two counts of possession of controlled substance without prescription (heroin and clonazepam) and child neglect. Police also arrested Dontae Minocal Jean, 24, of Orlando, for two counts of possession of controlled substance (heroin and clonazepam)...
OK, so y'all buttheads checked into a local motel (not even smart enough to shit outside your own living room, so to speak), shoot up, pass out and for still unknown reasons, there was a bathtub overflowing in the room and into the rooms below. With your three-year-old in the room. Who could have eaten your drugs, walked out of the room, fallen into the tub...I hope that whatever punishment the judicial system visits on your high asses, it includes sterilization.

A lady from Iowa left her 2 children in the care of 2 12 yr olds, while she went on vacation in Germany. She was supposed to be gone for 10 days. Police contacted her on her cell phone and told her that DFS had her kids and told her she needed to come home. She didn't see the problem, but did come home early... 6 days later! She was arrested. www.wptv.com/news/local-news/water-cooler/police-mom-flew-to-germany-left-4-kids-home-alone-in-iowa_55835189_Back when I was 12, I babysat 3 kids, for some people that were friends of my adult sister and her husband, for a week while a group of them went on a trip together. Their regular babysitter got sick so fell through. But things were different back then and they didn't leave the country. Also, my parents lived close by so I could get help quickly if I needed to and they called regularly to check up on things. I was from a large family and had younger siblings, plus I had been babysitting for 2-3 yrs at that point. Me and the kids all got the stomach flu (lasted 3 days avg). But I took my job seriously. I never even called for help. Although I did advise the parents when they called, I also told them I had things under control so they didn't need to rush home. I cleaned the vomit up, made sure the kids stayed hydrated and fed them soup and jello when they could/would eat it. By the time the parents got home, we were all beginning to feel better. It was a LONG week and I earned every penny I made. I was proud of myself.

He said he was only joking.... Seriously?
"A manager at the Largo Mall Red Lobster called police Thursday afternoon, saying a man told a hostess, “Just to make you smile, I work for the Taliban, and I have a bomb in this bag.”
The release says the man, later identified as Bryant, then asked for a booth near a window, and he and a woman were seated. Police arrived and evacuated the building. Officers stopped Bryant while he was leaving, and the Tampa bomb squad determined there were no explosives in his bag."
Not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree!

“Just to make you smile, I work for the Taliban, and I have a bomb in this bag.” I would be smiling for sure as the police hauled his sorry butt out outta there! www.wptv.com/weather/hurricane/prank-call-to-palm-beach-county-911-during-hurricane-irma-could-end-in-arrestA little late for this one, but it's a Flori-duh for sure: The Palm Beach County Fire Department handled 3,290 calls in 13 hours during Hurricane Irma. On average, they handle about 500. One of the calls is now being handled by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. The fire department says someone called into 911, claiming a tree fell on their house, and that they were hiding in their dryer, but did not expect to survive. Officials say they determined that call was fake and called the prank call "detrimental to safety."
Wait...hiding in the dryer? I know some dryers have a pretty decent capacity, but mostly, you'd have to be a munchkin to fit inside one .

Why would this make anyone smile? is what I thought when I read that. But you're right, I would smile as they hauled him away too! I used to hide in the dryer as a kid, playing hide and go seek. I can't imagine even trying as an adult! And if I were in their situation (a tree just fell on my house) I would want to be somewhere that they could find me. I'm thinking they did too, that's why they called 911. Yep, I agree. This call was BS. Now if it had been the washer... bwahahaha!

Wyo, is this you? Not a Flori-duh, but it should be: www.wptv.com/news/local-news/water-cooler/arrested-drunk-man-claims-he-time-traveled-to-warn-of-aliensCASPER, Wyo. (AP) -- Police say a central Wyoming man they arrested for public intoxication claimed he had traveled back in time to warn of an alien invasion. Casper police say the man they encountered at 10:30 p.m. Monday claimed he was from the year 2048. KTWO-AM in Casper reports that the man told police that he wanted to warn the people of Casper that aliens will arrive next year, and that they should leave as soon as possible. He asked to speak to the president of the town, about 170 miles (270 kilometers) northwest of Cheyenne. The man told police he was only able to time travel because aliens filled his body with alcohol. He noted that he was supposed to be transported to the year 2018, not this year.
OK, here ya go. A (relatively) famous person acting stupid in our state: Alex Morgan played for the Olympic women's soccer team several times and has a number of lucrative personal ad contracts.

...According to the Orlando Sentinel, an incident report filed by police said Epcot managers called deputies concerning several people who were "impaired and verbally aggressive" and "very loud and belligerent toward staff around guests." The Sentinel story said that Morgan and Orlando City players Giles Barnes, Donny Toia and his wife, Courtney, were taken out of the park, per the police report. No charges were filed. According to the Sentinel, a deputy wrote in regards to Morgan: "I observed a white female, who was later identified as Alexandria Morgan yelling, screaming and taken (sic) video and possibly pictures. She appeared to be highly impaired." Morgan had posted a group photo on Instagram on Sunday at Epcot, with the caption reading, "Annual around the world in 8 hours. No big." Morgan, Toia and his wife were accused of trespass and were kicked out, according to the police report, said the Sentinel. Barnes was given a trespass warning.

It's really going to suck if it turns out to be true! heh I never thought about this before, but even if time travel exists in the future, it doesn't now. So how do people that travel back in time get back to their time in the future?

www.wptv.com/news/state/driver-tries-to-jump-canal-with-his-car-in-southwest-floridaAnd y'all thought that Smokey and the Bandit scene wasn't for real: Lee County sheriff deputies said a man attempted to jump a canal with his car in Southwest Florida. Witnesses said they saw a man in a blue Toyota Corolla drive to the edge of the canal and stop. Then, he got out of the car to observe the distance, got back into the vehicle and tried to make a 20-foot jump. His vehicle was unsuccessful in making the jump had to be towed out of the canal. Deputies say the man was not injured, but the car was totaled. It's unclear why the man tried to jump the canal, but investigators said alcohol may have played a factor. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaa think? Or was he just looking for a shortcut?

Looks like I missed all the fun at Epcot by showing up on Monday. Huh? One or more of the US Women's soccer team members was helped out of Epcot when they caused a disturbance due to excessive drinking. I'm sure it happens to someone almost every day. Drinking around the world is a common pastime for adults at Epcot.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Boynton Beach police have released the body camera video of what they say is two moms overdosing with their 1- and 2-month-old babies in the back seat. WPTV was first to request the video. WPTV reported exclusively Monday night the 911 call made by one of the moms as the other was unconscious. In the 2-minute 45-second clip, you see officers responding, one of the mom’s is in the passenger’s seat passed out, and the other is in the back of an ambulance. A first responder says they administered narcan, the drug commonly used to bring someone back to life after overdosing. Near the end of the clip, you see an officer soothing one of the crying babies, offering a pacifier...

I'm glad that the mom who didn't pass out, had the presence of mind to call for help, even though she too was allegedly using heroin at the time. The story I read indicated that the two women met while they were both previously incarcerated. (IDK) I wanted to see the video, but it won't work for me, even on my desktop PC. I think it's interesting that included in the story is the statement about being the first to request the video. (Woo-hoo!) Seems odd to me.

Duh. (not FL)
WEST JORDAN, Utah (KUTV) A 3-year-old boy was reunited with his parents Tuesday morning after his parents left him at a corn maze overnight.
Around 8 p.m. last night the boy was handed over to police officers working security at the Crazy Corn Maze in West Jordan, 8800 S. 4000 W.
The maze informed guests that they had a missing child, but nobody came to claim the boy by the time the maze had closed.
An officer called the Utah Division of Child and Family Services, who took the child in for the night.
On Tuesday morning at around 7:40 a.m., the parents of the child called West Jordan Police Department and reported the child missing.
The parents woke up and realized the child was gone after they got home from the corn maze.
Police told the parents that DCFS had the boy.
No citations or charges have been filed as of yet, according WJPD Sgt. Monson, but the case is still being investigated.
They didn't notice he wasn't with them in the maze, or in the car going home, going in the house or going to bed? Parenting at its finest!

Miller time?
"After getting a report of a 2017 Mazda hitting a stop sign, a pedestrian alerted cops to a car parked in the middle of a road, records show, reports the Sebastian Daily.
Inside the car officers found a boozy Therese Jean Miller snoozing behind the wheel while music was blasting, Sebastian cops said.
Miller, who had to be awakened twice by cops, told officers she was in her driveway before 'fessing up to drinking while making a hand gesture, as if praying, according to her arrest affidavit."
It wasn't my fault!?
"If at first you don’t succeed at getting a truck to rear-end you, do it yourself.
That’s what investigators say a Delray Beach man did after slamming his brakes in an effort to have a crash with the tow truck behind him so he could collect insurance money.
It was all part of a staged crash in which Mauril Aldophe filed an insurance claim, blaming the other driver, according to a Florida Department of Financial Services arrest report.
What Aldophe, 65, didn’t know is that the tow truck driver’s dashcam recorded his actions which helped lead to the arrest that landed him in jail Friday."
