YULEE, Fla. (AP) -- A Georgia woman died after falling from a Jeep Wrangler in Florida.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, 24-year-old Brittanie Gail Evans of Douglas, Georgia, was sitting in the front passenger seat of the Jeep driving late Saturday near Yulee in Nassau County. Yulee is about 20 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida.

The driver and two other passengers also were from Georgia.

The Jeep did not have any doors on it. The report said that "for an unknown reason," Evans was leaning out of the vehicle when she fell onto the road.

Evans was pronounced dead at a hospital.

According to the report, neither Evans nor the driver wore seatbelts, and alcohol may have been a factor in Evans' death.

I'm reading that it is legal to drive a Jeep with out doors as long as it has at least on rear facing side mirror attached to the vehicle. I have seen doorless jeeps driving around here without doors. Not something I would do for safety reasons (getting t-boned).

A Delta Air Lines passenger was charged on Friday with instigating a mid-air brawl with flight attendants and other passengers who fought desperately to restrain him as he tried opening the exit door of a plane bound from Seattle to China.



Joseph Daniel Hudek IV, 23, of Tampa, Florida, was arrested on Thursday when the Delta jetliner, a Boeing 767-300 with 221 people aboard, flew back to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for an unscheduled landing two hours after takeoff.

According to the FBI, the incident began when Hudek lunged for an exit door at the front of the plane, grabbed the handle and tried to open it, prompting a desperate scuffle with crew members and passengers who battled to subdue him.



In the course of the disturbance, the FBI said, Hudek repeatedly punched a flight attendant and a fellow passenger, and persisted in trying to pull open the door, even as a second flight attendant struck him over the head with two large wine bottles. Both flight attendants were women.



Hudek was finally restrained with zip ties as several passengers joined the fray, but not before he managed to pull the door lever halfway to the open position, the FBI said.

For my mom to get admitted to an Alzheimer's/mental health care facility, she had to be tested in a hospital. The doctors reported back to us mom had late stage syphilis. That the STD had turned her brain into mush. We kids said "WHAT?". The doctors tested again and said "OOPS! We were wrong. No STDs. She has Alzheimer's disease."

Actually, we, or at least I, thought my dad may have had an affair, picked up an STD, and passed it along to my mother years and years ago. That my dad would have had an affair would be very hard to believe in the first place, but one never knows.

In the end, it was a false-positive first test. Still, you should not tell a patient's family she has syphilis without retesting.

He could not have been louder about his missing powder.

Responding to a call about a burglary Sunday, police in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., discovered a very forthright man claiming to be a drug dealer in need of some assistance.

David Blackmon allegedly told deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's office that a thief had broken into his car and swiped $50 in cash in addition to a quarter ounce of his prized cocaine, the Miami Herald reports.

Authorities confirmed that the items seemed to be missing from where the 35-year-old said he had put them, but on the bright side, the deputies were able to help him locate a second bag of coke that he had left on the center console, at which point they began reading Blackmon his rights.

Blackmon was arrested and charged with resisting an officer without violence for allegedly refusing to follow commands, possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing cocaine, which is a felony charge.

He was released Monday on a $4,000 bond.
