By the way, MSN used to be owned by Microsoft when the web started gaining acceptance and cooperated with NBC to develop MSNBC in the early years. I believe MSNBC is now wholly owned by NBC and I believe MSN is still owned by Microsoft
When you bought the old Compaq computers they came loaded with Microsoft programs and MSN as the entry point to the web. You even signed up at the checkout at Best Buy registering your web address name with MSN at the time of purchase.

No, but I continue to try to point out to opposing posters of the idiocy levels the msm press goes yo. This is a non-issue because it has been announced that Melania and their child will move to the WH at the end of the school year, and yet msm continues to post stupid petitions as if they will accomplish anything. Why would CBS not clarify that as od last week it was announced they were moving to the White House? Because they continue in their attacks against a duly elected President that they cannot control to do their agenda goals. Am I surprised by the usual put downs from the same posters on the issues? No. The kid and his mom aren't moving until the school year is over-two months plus time at an average of $136,000 per day to protect them. And as usual the point is moot. They are moving, but msm tries to make the President the bad guy with false expectations from democratic snowflakes in America as if signing the out of date petition makes a crap of difference.

However, if you're going to do something that costs so much, that the taxpayers pay for, then the Trumps should use their own money to pay for the added security.

Let trump pay for his own security at trump tower. and let trump pay for his adult children's security too.

I imagine due to the prospect of so many possible Democratic friendly people who might want to storm the tower and throw them out, the Secret Service has to have more agents on hand than in normal circumstances. Case in point the White House grounds. How many people have climbed the fences in the time he has been in residency. We must have already set a record number of security breaches in any one term in office in two months

I was wondering that too. However, VB does have a point in that MSN, CBS, ABC, Yahoo, NBC, AOL, FOX, and their ten million affiliates are all reporting on the petition (did I miss any?), hence the thread title is fungible in that regard. Please see post 30 where I answered the question. Obviously many people do not open the links provided. TY for making a point for me! I browsed the story, but I'd never have noticed the little CBS logo if you hadn't mentioned it. Incidentally, it's above and to the left of the article in my browser.

You don't need CBS to drive home the bias and hatred.

I reserve the right to feel differently if the plan is to continue this next school year. I'm more concerned about the adult kids security costs and Mar a Lago security costs.

Unless I'm missing something, nowhere does anything say this petition is related to Moveon.org. I also fail to see why you care about this. It is just a petition, in no way does it make policy or force the white house to do anything. The petition for Trump's tax returns on the official white house website has over 1 million signatures and the white house hasn't responded. Not sure why you think the white house would respond to this one. People are annoyed and signing petitions is a way to feel like you are accomplishing something. Freedom of speech and all that. If it bothers you, then create your own petition.

Why don't the Repos try something new for a change. How about currying favor of the media by actually doing something. We know of all the malfeasance of BushCo. He and his regime were dutifully excoriated for that. But what of the do nothing Repo Congresses? They have done shit and now the Repos seems quite divided. Maybe if they did something positive for the American people they might get better press. Replacing Obamacare with trash isn't going to cut it.

Since the aftermath of the recent presidential election, polls don't seem to carry the impact that they used too. Even the "prestigious" polling outfits are disregarded by many. I do hear their results bandied about the "mainstream" media echo chamber however.

How about you zibi. What should your party do that would get the media more on your side? My goals for this country is to be rid of illegals and stop immigration. Considering how much everyone here and the press worshipped Obama and his ilk, the idea that those who aren't in favor of trump and are going nuts over everything and anything doesn't surprise me. I seriously don't care how much is spent on security. But thanks for bringing me into the conversation. Yes, I am a republican no I'm not a trump fan but he was better than Hillary. But I voted third party and am still pleased by it. If trump can rid this country of illegals and end immigration good for him. He at least did something good. I've never made any secret of my wishes for this country and I don't care who accomplishes it or what it costs. If trump can pull it off more power to him.

Completely stopping immigration would be a tall order indeed. Limiting illegal immigration is doable, however.
Considering this is such a huge issue for you, why so much animosity towards Obama? His administration deported more illegals by far than any other and net zero immigration was achieved with Mexico. Not a bad start on this pernicious problem. I believe he deserves some kudos for that.

I do hear their results bandied about the "mainstream" media echo chamber however. that's a shame, given the fact that the polls were, on the whole, more accurate in this election than 2012.

I thought I did by saying the story bout the polls was posted many o place? if it came after the ad-hominem, i might have missed it. for the record, i was referring to that SPECIFIC POLL, and i already surveyed how many places reported it. so, your statement was false, in terms of this SPECIFIC piece, as far as i can tell. but i am happy to hear that it is generally being reported. though i wouldn't know. i have been traveling. which is about as far as i could get from being under a rock, i would imagine.

If it bothers you, then create your own petition. Exactly! It's just a petition and doesn't mean anything. Obama was presented with a petition to build a Death Star. Did that go anywhere? The Obama administration will not be building a Death Star. Responding to a petition on the White House Web site, science and technology adviser Paul Shawcross tells disappointed "Star Wars" fans, "This Isn't the Petition Response You're Looking For." Shawcross explained that at $850 quadrillion, the cost was simply too high in a time of tight budgets. Moreover "the administration does not support blowing up planets." www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2013/01/12/white-house-rejects-death-star-petittion/?utm_term=.9cf3c1df9ec0

Safety nets You have a problem with old people getting medical care? How about the disabled having enough to eat? Pensioners having a roof over their heads?
