I have played around with the skins and they look cool. Is there anyway to change the menu options at the top (home, new topics etc). I find those really hard to read. If they were solid letters it would make all the difference.
Thanks. I am really enjoying the new boards.

I tried settin "moon 2" as my theme, but with it set, I can't see results on polls (since it's the same color as the box)

moonbeam, I think this is a very nice piece of work that you have all done. I am finding it easier and easier to navigate on this site. Thank you for your efforts!

Whoever put up the chart at the top of MT thanks. That was one of the things I missed from the old MT. Being able to look up stocks quickly and where the Dow is at is a plus for this site.

I agree about the chart - That was a great addition.

I like the chart also. One item I liked of old was the automatic marking as read when looking through posts...it made it easier to see where I was and when new posts showed up. Is their a way to do that now..I have not been able to figure out except for the broad brush -marked as read. Any help would be appreciated.

When a thread has the "new" icon next to it, you can click on the word new and it'll take you to the first new post since the last time you were on the thread

Is it possible to put the links back to the main site page on the bottom of the page and not just on the top? While it is a minor complaint, everyone won't have to scroll back to the top of the page to go back to say the Politics and the Market board.
Example: MSN Money Board refugees :: Forums :: Politics and the Markets :: So now libs admit Obama has no experience?
If that is also on the bottom of the posts then we would just have to click on Politics and the Market.
Thanks.

Tenn, i'll look into that, but there is a "Forum Jump" at the lower right of the screen in the meantime.. pretty much at the bottom of the quick reply area, and over..

Is there a way to turn off all the animation on this site. I get a headache with all of the flashing and dancing and flapping and jumping and color changes. I would like to think people would tire of using all that crap - but I suspect that isn't so. If I can just adjust my profile to keep all the little cartoons still I might not be so irritable.

Also, will the skins make everything a minimal amount of colors. The red, blue, green, yellow, white, black, pink, Trump - it just seems really tweenish to me.

And...(sorry)
When looking at the list of threads, there is a folder, and then a column with mostly the same thing - but a few with different emoticons in it. And then the next column has the title.
What is the second column? What do the different pictures in there mean? How do you change them? What is the purpose or message?

Those pictures are set by the person posting the thread. They're meant to differentiate discussion posts, questions, announcements, etc....
As far as the animation, you could turn off all images, which would just put in the text equivilant of the smiley.

if you wish to, you can disable avatar and images in their entirety by going into your profile and changing "show avatars" and "show images" to NO.
as for colors... you have a choice of things, also accessed in your profile.. there will be more added in time.. but if i may ask, just what is it you're looking for?

Something that won't nauseate me and make me think I'm trapped in a fun-house hell full of unlimited colors and dancing smiley faces.

I don't care which color - I just don't want 14 colors. Any two or three that are tasteful will be fine.
I guess I'm just a plain jane gal. I can't take all the blinking and scolling tag lines and such. I'm surprised that everyone thinks this board is neat and clean and bundle is messy and obnoxious. Sure, bundle is pretty obnoxious - but this board is too.

well thyme, you do have the choice not to come here, same as anyone else.
i can't please everyone and won't even try.. most of the themes stick to a varying shades of a color, but there has to be a little variation to make things stand out a bit. it also takes time to do a new skin, and all of us work full time. so sorry that things are not yet custom tailored to please YOU- one person out of several hundred.

Not to complain about your message board, moon, but I think an automatic ban after...let's say, 3 complaints...would be in order. Also, I think you should make me and admin for LIFE.
