I am making chili with ground sirloin. I bought a smaller crock pot (4 qt.) and am trying it out for the first time. I have to make double portions when I use the larger one, which is ok but there will be so much leftover food after tomorrow. Anyway, I'm also sipping mimosas. I love days when I don't need to leave the house. I so want to visit your house right now. That sounds great. Since its late, I think I am just going to have almond butter and raspberry jelly on bread for lunch and hopefully finish cutting up the pineapple b4 late afternoon.
I'll see what happens. I could probably go for a nap and going nowhere else today, but that maybe the tired me talking. Haven't had my Vitamin D or anything except cookies and beverages yet.

Christmas Day we had leftover prime rib and trimmings. Last night we had sauteed yellow squash and beef sausage. Approx $4 for 3 servings. There are pork ribs (Loyalty Savings $11.48) in BBQ sauce (half bottle, approx $1.50) in the Crock Pot for tonight's convenience. Today is my first day back from days off and sure enough, I'm buried. I'll serve with roasted turnip fries ($1.03). Tomorrow night IDK yet. Friday-take out from? Saturday IDK yet NYE: Crab legs, shrimp and stuffed crab with a side veggie and champagne. Happy New Year, everyone!

I just put on black-eyed peas in the crock pot. It is a new recipe, and I'm a little disappointed that the carton of chicken broth had apparently been opened and stuck back on the shelf. Who does that sort of thing? Anyway, I had enough in cans to make up half the chicken broth. I just used water for the rest.
Black-eyed peas on New Year's is a Southern tradition/superstition. They are supposed to bring luck.

I'm going to lock this one since the one to honor Marvholly was requested. If not OK, let me know and I can merger them.
