dancin: that's so cute, that he's using coupon lingo. I'm not sure that my DH has caught onto that term yet.

Shelly, THANKS! Those are my two deals I am working this week. since I am fairly new I am sticking to one to two deals a week until I get the hang of it. I thought those two would be great b/c I already use them and I need them. carolinagirl: You are one smart cookie. Great strategy!! AND as you can see, this board is a great resource to get coupons that you need to do the deals. Suggestion: The next time you need a Q(s), post a HOUND ALERT and put it in all caps. This is so that it does not get skimmed over. Depending on how many you might want to stockpile, you may get offers to send them from more than just one gal because several of us may be taking a pass on the deal(s) if our stockpiles are sufficient. Example: WISK $2/1 AND FINISH $2.25/1 HOUND ALERT: HTH

Dancin, I got my Karma back, so you've been Karma'd! I know you're just happy to help, and you've been doing it for years, so I wanted to send some Karma your way in appreciation for all you do! ;D

dh saw some of my coupons (for things we don't need) but they are money makers and he got upset. I am new to couponing (WAGS is my only close store) and he watched some of Extreme couponing and was shocked at how good of deals they got and was impressed. he is against buying something if you don't need it, while I agree on that I know this is a money maker. ugh. pudgybunny: Do you have somewhere that you can donate the items that you don't need? I am SURE there is, and if so, it's a win/win. You get the MM, they get the product, and if you itemize on your tax return, you'll also get a tax deduction. Just curious - what's the product? dancin - it's the childrens flu meds from WAGS... btw anyone know if the adult version is on sale and printing RR? If anything I can donate the kids ones to family members. I haven't checked into what places around me will take donations. I wanted to call the company to see if adults could take the kid version. dh doesn't totally get it.

Dancin--That is way too funny ! Good to know that he has been listening and learning all this time !!! So what did he use as a filler ?? Ya, and I didn't think he was really paying much attention. ha ha ha At first he suggested some obscure, but inexpensive tool that he may (or may not) need at some time in the future. I told him to pick a filler that was something that he knew he needed NOW that he was going to have to buy anyway and that he (or I) wouldn't have a coupon for. He suggested getting some replacement light bulbs because we have two bulbs that are out in the kitchen - perfect!!

I'm sure adults can take the kid version, you might just have to take a lot more of it. I would take the two products (kids vs adult) and check the ingredients and mg and go from there. When your DH sees the savings, he'll get on board. Just ease him into it slowly AND make sure that you don't have coupons and ads laying all over the house (cuz he'll REALLY hate it then). Be neat and organized. Start a donation box in a cabinet somewhere in your house and keep track of the shelf price of the items that you are donating (if taking a tax deduction). If you cannot take a tax deduction, you might have a relative that does - you can always donate in their name.

Oped: This is from frugalsuz's blog
What on Earth am I Talking About? BOGO = Buy One, Get One...(usually free or 50% off)
Catalina = coupon that prints on a Catalina machine after your purchase
CRT/Cash Register Tape = CVS coupon that prints from the scanner machines or on the bottom of your receipt
CRS = an extremely common, yet rarely formally diagnosed ailment - Can't Remember Shit!!
EB = Extra Bucks (CVS) - use like cash on your next purchase
FAR = Free After Rebate
Filler = item purchased to bring your total to a certain amount or purchased so that you have the right number of items to match up to the number of coupons you're using
GM = General Mills coupon insert
IMHO = In My Humble Opinion
MBG = Money Back Guarantee
MIR = Mail In Rebate
Moneymaker = deal where your OOP expense is lower than what you'll get back in EB's, RR's, rebates, etc. Essentially, you're making money.
OOP = Out of Pocket
Overage = using a coupon for more than the purchase amount of the item, ie. $2 item and $3 Q = $1 overage
NBPR/NWPR = No Beer/Wine Purchase Required
PSA = Prices Start At
Q = Coupon
P&G = Proctor & Gamble coupon insert
RA = RiteAid
Rinse and Repeat = doing the same sale over and over RP = Red Plum Coupon Insert
RR = Register Rewards at Walgreens, use like cash on your next purchase (sort of -- its actually a manufacturer's coupon that you can use to buy almost anything in the store)
SCR = Single Check Rebate at RiteAid (their rebate program)
SS = Smart Source Coupon Insert
TMF = Try Me Free
UP+ Reward = RA money that prints at the bottom of your receipt for buying qualifying items. Can be used on most things in the store.
WAG = Walgreens
WYB = When You Buy

The abbreviations are all provided in the handbook. A link for it is on Pg. 3/Post 85 of this thread. They are also on frugalsuz's blog (frugalsuz.blogspot.com).

Another tip for the newbies: If you post a "HOUND ALERT", it is really helpful if you can also state the source. That way, it makes it much easier for those of us that do have extra inserts, to check quickly and see if it is something we got. An example would be: Finish, $2.25/1, SS 1/2
It is also important to note that different areas get different denominations of coupons. So, if you are only interested in a .50/1 and not $1/2, try to say that in your hound alert, as well.

PB: (I actually typed in "Pudgy", then went back and changed it! :-) The adult version of the ofscino-whatever at WAGS has a q in the January WAGS book, but is still about $10 after that q. The adult q does NOT work on the children's size (ask me how I know?!), but frugalsuz has a link on her blog to a $2 off q for the children's version. I try to leave my DH out of it altogether...he gets confused and his eyes glaze over!

I know that I can always look them up in the database, but it's just so much easeir to check to see if I got it if the coupon source is posted.

carolina: Don't go anywhere! If you want to get several copies of this for yourself, we can print them (if you'll list the website) and scan them and email them to you or snail mail, if necessary....

There is also a $2 off coupon for the adult version at the mfg website (on top of the wags jan book coupon) and that is why i was wondering if the adult was printing a RR. As for dh, I have a nosy dh and finances are tight. i'll run to the store tomorrow and was planning on using my own money anyway. i hope they haven't sold out!!!

Dancin, THANK YOU!!! You must have been inside our garage fridge to notice we were out of Lunchables! GASP!!! What is the world coming to that we would be out of those?? Just kidding!! My kids have been doing really well with Peanut Butter and Jelly. But, with school getting ready to start on Tuesday, it looks like I need to make a Target run.
Did they change their printable coupon policy--does anyone know off the top of their head? I tried to print 2 but it only let me print one. Not that I can't make one work, I just thought I'd print 2 if I could.
