On behalf of suziq38 and all of the gals here, WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME to the Grocery Challenge from me - dancinmama!!

If you have never clipped a coupon, or even if you have been using coupons for years, we'd love to have you join us. We are a crazy, fun-loving, and very friendly group of gals just chatting with one another about how to save big money using coupons. We are willing to help anyone, at any level, in any way that we can.

Don't think that you have to read through the pages and pages of posts to join in - most of it will be old, out-of-date information anyway. Just go to the last page of the thread and introduce yourself. Tell us what area of the country you're from and where you shop (grocery stores, national chain stores, Target, WalMart, etc.).

We'd love to have you join us on a regular basis, so don't be shy - just jump right in, have some fun, and save a ton of money in the process!!

NEWBIES/OLDIES: If you post a HOUND ALERT requesting coupons from others, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE also post which insert/where the coupon can be found (Example: 1/2 SS) so that we can find it easily without having to research it ourselves. ALSO, if you need the coupon for a specific deal, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE try to remember to post the deal with your HOUND ALERT so that someone who may have the coupon(s) can decide whether they want/need to do the deal before sending out any of their coupons. THANKS!!

POSTING ABOUT A DEAL / HOT COUPON: Some people get overwhelmed by the number of posts and only have time to skim the posts for the information that they need the most. If you are posting a deal, please post something that makes it stand out like "CVS DEAL ALERT" or if you are posting to tell us that there is a new, hot coupon avaiable, please post something like "$3/1 WHOLLY GUACAMOLE IP ALERT".

We want to make this thread as fun, friendly, and helpful as possible. These suggestions will save EVERYONE a lot of time when they are trying to "catch up" and read through past posts.

2 cards for $2 JC. Timing is everything.

Just to brag a bit, I went to RA and got 34.96 of things and in the end paid .06 OOP. Two transactions. Lots of rewards and coupons. They didn't have the sonicare toothbrush which was a bit irritating because I would end up getting that free. I noticed it is 25% off this week so maybe they got them in. It will end up being a better deal with the 25% off.

I didn't know there were no inserts today. What about next week? Is that a no show too?
I didn't save a dime this week. No hounding for me. I also think right now the stores have raised their prices in time for Christmas. Has anyone else noticed this?

hopetoberich: I was surprised that there were no inserts today. There have never been any inserts on Christmas or New Years weekend, but watch out for the first Sunday after New Years weekend - there are usually about (5) on that Sunday!!

I can't get used to the fact that I have to sign in each time and I never remember until AFTER I've already typed my message. UGH!! It just seems like there are a lot more steps to get something posted than there were on the MSN board.

Hopefully WIR will survive the cut and we'll go back to what we're used to.

YM just got the post that they will be taken down at the beginning of January sometime.
They're going over to bundle. The format is different in that you can't just start a thread, you have to be responding to an article.....what a load of BS!

Has anyone used Lefora before? We took an old MSN board there when the last switch happened. After using that the last 2 (?) years, I like it way better than this. I can set one up if you all are interested for the Grocery Challenge (Dancin, you can stay logged in there).

Not sure how I'll like this site either...but, I definitely want to keep up with y'all and all the deals. One other thought I had, how many of us are on HCW? Could we start a monthly "Grocery Challenge" thread over there??

Its good to see you all, the name changes will confuse me though, something to get use to.
I went over to bundle and got as far as finding some old articles from Donna and Liz. This does seem (to me) to be more user friendly.

constance22: I believe that we have had discussions on the GC thread that HCW would not have allowed regarding glitches. For example, let's say that WAGs is having a deal that says "Buy 5 items and get a $10RR or Buy 9 items and get a $20RR". Then someone on the board reads on a blog that the $20RR is printing if you only buy 6 items. I don't think HCW would allow a discussion about that.

Another example: Whenever WAGs has buy 2 Oreo and a gallon of milk/Get a $$RR, we all know that you don't have to buy the milk to get the RR to print; but HCW will not allow discussion regarding that either.

dancinmama Yep, that is definitely one of the downfalls of HCW. It is rather strict as to what can be discussed regarding deals and coupons. I guess this site will be ok, will just take some getting used to, as with anything "new".
