whenever i hear him say that i think "i believe nothing that can't be shown. show me." If I hear Obama say 'let me be clear" for the UMPTEENTH time, i will hurl my cookies. i am not sure what that had to do with my objection, which had to do with a statement that could just as easily have been uttered by Obama.

It seems like you're here all the time. What's the matter? Not working? (And yes, I'm still working. All last week I was on vacation. How is that ANY of your business?) It really is not my business, but I am nosy. As to your first question, I am retired and have publicly stated this fact many times on the board. In fact I just stated it again yesterday in the "Value Buy is funny" thread. I would have actually gone somewhere on vacation while working and skip the boards for a week, but that is me. Thank you for your concern of American politics! You're very welcome. They say the American POTUS is the "leader of the free world. I'm part of the free world, am I not? What he does affects me. I know my posting here pi$$es you off. And others, as well. Too bad, so sad.

What's not working any more? You used to be on here rather spotty, now it seems like you are here all the time. Cmon south. I am sure President Trump can get you a green card. No, thank you. Been there, done that.

Well someone has her speech for four years from now if heaven forbid she needs it. I don't really recall that speech, and I've tuned her out before, but damn her speech writer must have sat down and went how many creative ways can I throw shade?

Why do Dems think that only certain issues are "my issues"? No. I want a candidate that will do what is right for America, get out of the way and stop strangling the economy with stupid trade policies, and protect our citizens. I don't know if those are "womens' issues" or not. Very patronizing to think women only care about certain things.

"Your issues"? . i said IF, shoob. she doesn't support my issues. therefore, i won't be voting for her. i made NO assumption about what your issues are. but given your love of Trump, i could venture a few guesses.

I cannot take Dems seriously when complaining about minimum wage. But support the flood of illegals to "do the jobs Americans wont do". Are they going to make $15 an hr too? Sure.

Cory Booker Awesome speech. Absolutely LOVE him. He had Bill on his feet.
Michelle Obama AMAZING! one thing I read on twitter. Michelle Obama is Beyonce's Beyonce. lol It was seriously an incredible speech. Going to miss her grace & the classy way she has carried herself as 1st Lady.
And Bernie didn't Ted Cruz the DNC.
Plus gotta love seeing Paul Simon performing.

I didn't see all of Cory Booker's speech, but what I saw was outstanding. Michelle was very good, but we won't know for sure if it was a truly great speech until the 2024 Republican Convention when it gets copied. Warren had some good moments. I thought Franken was funny. Sarah Silverman was right when she said that the Bernie-or-bust people were being ridiculous. And Bernie did what he had to do. All in all, it was a very good night for the Democrats. In comparison to the Republican Convention, it was like the first game of the World Series having a 10-run-rule.

RNC's highlight on night 1 was Chachi, I mean Scott Baio. DNC has Demi Lovato, Paul Simon, Cory Booker, Sarah Silverman, and the 1st Lady. And the opposing candidate didn't torch himself on stage for the finale.
Night 1 goes to the DNC. lol

I didn't see the early part of the day. I heard it was worse then. There was definitely some negativity during some of the speeches with the speaker continuing over the shouted protests of some or a certain amount of booing, but for the most part it wasn't that bad from what I could tell.
Dumbest part for me was afterward. The floor reporters talked to a couple of Sanders delegates. One was a young woman who apparently had no idea of how a convention is run, or even a sense of reality. She was complaining about not hearing anything about Sanders (despite having much of the night devoted to Sanders and his effect on "the most progressive platform in the history of the party") and being offended that he didn't speak until the end of the night (having no idea that going last is an honor.) And to complain that she won't support and doesn't trust Hillary and only trusts Sanders, all while ignoring that Sanders had just spent much of his speech saying how important it was to support Hillary. All I could think was, "B****, are you really that stupid?"

Certainly proves that political passion and involvement are independent of knowledge and understanding. That's probably what I can't stand about so many Sanders supporters. It is not enough to "believe." You have to "think" too. (And yes, that should go double for Trump supporters, who seem to be violently opposed to even the idea of thinking.)

Elizabeth Warren saying "the system is rigged"! Oh my. So funny. Who is rigging the system? Oh yeah, Hillary! DWS is fired for rigging the system and corrupting the process and IMMEDIATELY hired by Hillary. Hello.
