Whew! That was a hard interview ! I know my stuff but two of the people had thick accents and masks. And a bad computer connection. I hope I did OK. I also hope they are less stuffy in person. I don't want to work at a company that can't have a good time.

How long does it generally take to contact people for interviews after the end of accepting applications?
I might have to have someone look at my 'stuff' now that I might actually want a real job, lol. Its been a long time since I did this seriously. Even now, its not like i HAVE to work. It is an entirely different process from that perspective, but I do want to make sure I look professional and qualified.

Sorry, i know that's not what you wanted to hear but it really depends on what else is going on in the company, how critical it is to fill the position and if a person involved with filling the position came down sick.

I have advanced to the 3rd round. Now it's a meet and greet of the plant. One of the interviewers raised a brief red flag for me so I'm going in with a critical eye towards regulation compliance. Im hoping it's a group's desire for autonomy and not an insistence of bypassing regulations.

I had forgotten I applied to it. There are some applications still floating around in the internet ether I've never heard anything from to this day. Here it was a couple weeks when I initially applied. My last job at UNMC they got back to me in 48 hours. That's one of the many fun things about applying for jobs. You hurry up and apply only to sit and wait. And application deadlines I have found mean nothing. It means *I* can't apply after that date but they can take months to get back to you.

This. Sometimes you hear something the next day, other times can be a month or more. My current employer took so long to contact me that I had forgotten that I had even applied, and I was not applying for just any job at the time - I had very specific qualities I was looking for in an employer. I believe it had just passed the 2 month mark, when I received a call for an interview. I was told that they had to interview internal candidates first, of which there were a LOT.

I'm trying to be patient, lol. I'm honestly ok either way, but I like to know things This is a 188 over 12 month position and so the staff in this department have a week off at least every month, not sure about supervisors, but I'm thinking those weeks probably line up with federal holidays? So it could be they weren't even 'in' this week.

I had forgotten that I applied at my place by the time I was contacted, but I'd say more than half of the time, employers are fairly prompt with contacting for interviews. My current place seems to drag their feet with hiring much of the time.

So, my 4th interview with this company was in-person and good. I should know this week if they decide to hire me. There were no red flags.
The rough part: my current company is doing well and i have been given a new project that is pretty exciting. So, it's going to come down to the benefits package and a guess. I'm not really sure if I'd jump ship at this point. Here's waiting for the end of the week to see if they pick me.

I don't think I'm going to get an interview. I looked at the board meeting notes for the org and it feels like they do a lot of internal movement and personally this sounds like a kind of ideal gig, which is why I applied, lol. So I won't be surprised if its filled in house, or maybe that's just me being nice to myself, lol.
I will keep looking at the job listings as they come online for fall. That said, the little online store I barely did anything with this year had 280% sales over this month last year, and more than doubled first quarter earnings. Again, we are talking small numbers, no ones salary let alone benefits, but also almost all passive, minimal work for a year, no advertising, etc. So if I actually started working on it... Feels a little like the universe speaking this month telling me, ok get back to work, but on your own stuff...

I got offered the job. Its a $35,000 per year raise. Plus other goodies. I like where i am. I interviewed at this place as a lark. This new place looks fun too. I think I'm going to jump. Is it strange i feel bad? I really like my current people.

Is it strange i feel bad? I really like my current people. For that much of a bump plus goodies, I'd jump. In a heartbeat. That's an amount your current employer likely wouldn't match to keep you. It's OK to not want to leave where you're comfortable.

stillmovingforward Congratulations That's a great offer they made you. You surely made a good impression Fun fact - I met with the CEO, among others. I dropped the f-bomb on him! Well, he got a bit verbally pushy and wanted my honest opinion. So I gave it to him.

That's a whopping raise! Congratulations stillmovingforward ! How will the new commute be? I've been working from home since July and i really like it. My new commute will be back to 60 minutes without traffic slowdowns. But traffic is a lot less then it used to be. Our area has been hard hit by the pandemic job losses.

Ava - i guess my point is to be yourself. Don't be afraid to 'let it fly' during an interview if it's appropriate. I mean, you have a job, try to be lighthearted about any interviews you get. It feels like the less i care, the better the offer is.....IDK

Aaaaaand DONE! I liked my 'old' job so it hurt to leave them (and i was grateful they hired me in the midst of the pandemic). But i gave notice, they were appreciative, and told me i was welcome back if ever needed. That felt good. Now, on to the new one! I booked a 'vacation' week between the two 😁
