was just about to fix something for dinner when a tornado in the form of a birthday basket for my golden arrived (with roommate and a friend) and the house was nuts for a good 2h. when friend left and roommate went to bed (don't ask...) I finally nuked some leftover rice and broccoli, and thawed/nuked a portion of rotisserie chicken to toss in the bowl.
cost? free tonight. chicken was ancient, and the rice would have been tossed this weekend if not eaten (likely, if not tonight)

We had homemade chicken and rice soup and homemade veggie flatbread pizza topped with leftover hot Italian sausage. Cost? $15. Both soup and pizza leftover.

Homemade pizza with homemade pizza sauce, it. sausage, pepperoni, home grown bell peppers, home grown onions & black olives on DH's half. No idea the cost, but the other half will be dinner on Tue night. Tomorrow will be ham/dried beans & cornbread....the ham is the other 1/2 of a center ham slice left from dinner a few nights ago. The leftover cornbread will be frozen to go into DH's cornbread dressing on Thanksgiving!

The beer my girlfriend and I drink costs more than the dinner. Well almost. LOL Last Night: Sunday night Breaded Pork Chops - on sale Cut green beans - from the can - on sale Cornbread - always cheap Maybe about $5.00 bucks for the two of us for the dinner portion. PS - We have some leftovers. Correction - Yup, the beer, and cheezit hot and spicy crackers cost us more during happy hour then the dinner.

baked off the last of a bag of popcorn chicken, cut that up of a pretty basic salad. bagged greens, plus some chunky cuts of various veggies. oh, and I opened a bottle of "Olive Garden" Italian dressing.
cost? no idea. greens were from a bag I bought last week. I poured myself bowl and picked out the brown. pitched the rest. I spent $.50 on a cuke that I cut maybe 1" off? and a slice of red onion. oh wait, the dressing was $4 . and I haven't the faintest clue when I bought the popcorn chicken.

it's pretty much what I remember. it's been awhile since I've been to an OG, but all I ever get there is soup/salad/breadsticks anyway.

got home just as roommate was finishing cooking his dinner (something I don't care for) and he announced he had extra roasted red potatoes if I wanted them. so I chopped up some veggies and scrambled them into two eggs topped with Swiss cheese.
no idea on cost. my brain is fried for the day.

I know what I'm cooking tonight, (stroganoff) but realized I don't have the cream of mushroom soup I usually use to make it so I've been reading recipes and I'm starving now. I only have 3 hours until lunch

Then make a salad out of cucumber, lettuce and the remaining tomatoes. Add sauteed chicken to either one. Freeze the cheeses or add the cotija in the salad.

I need to go out and pick green tomatoes and banana peppers. Yes, its in the 70's here, unbelievable and no freeze for this week either according to the weather, like wow. We are getting some rain but more like a mist right now.
If I feel like it maybe green fried tomatoes, baked chicken breasts with home made noodles?? That would be good. I have a head of cauliflower I need to use, maybe make cheese sauce for it, could serve today and with dinner tomorrow.
I actually scrubbed the sink and cleaned off the top of the stove. Turned the oven on to clean there is baked on stuff in it.
